Discussion about NBA Live 2004.

ok, i've been playing this game all night and i'm getting really sick and tired of the CPU's high FG% and their pro-hops on EVERY single posessoin. Rarely, and i mean RARELY do they actually set up a shot. it's always: put it in the hands of the superstar and have him drive the lane for a layup/dunk every single posession. i'm totally serious. You should see the shot displays after each game. it's laughable really. A hornets nest of "O's" and "X's" within 10 feet of the basket.
The last game i played i was the Rockets vs the Magic. it was absolutely ridiculous. halfway through the 3rd quarter the magic were shooting 64% from the field. Now, i'm not saying i'm an expert at the game, but i've been playing Live since 1995. i know what i'm doing.
The weirdest thing about it is i actually win some of these games. I just get so unbeleivably frustrated with the CPU shot selection and FG% that i have to turn the game off. (allstar mode btw)
The first few games i thought maybe this year was going to be different. The more i play it, the more it annoys me. The pro-hopping by the CPU just kills the fun of the game.
Is there a slider that you can turn down to prevent their stupid pro-hopping?
Not only do they pro-hop, but when you stand still or use the "take charge" button they somehow manage to sweep you out of the way on the way to the basket. argggghhhh!
any advice before i go out and buy ESPN?

Play in Superstar mode and adjust the sliders. One way to lessen the pro-hopping is to call the double team or let the player shoot from the outside and defend it.

I had that problem at first with the CPU do the "HOP" but after a while you learn to defend it. Paul Pierce used to kill me with that. Like deluxxe said, you have to double the best player unless you know you have a great defender.

You mean sphinx, right? Yeah, it's like real life NBA, Jordan or Kobe could easily just beat almost any defender, so to remedy that, you gotta double team. Play around with defensive strategies and quick plays.. that should help.

Maybe you'll laugh at this, but what does exactly pro-hop mean?

Its actually an essential part for the user to win games. You wont be able to drive all of the way to the basket and 360 it. If you want more penetration you have to 'pro hop'. Then from there decide to pass, shoot, or dunk.

ya well.. sometimes i can defend the pro-hop. but that doesn't stop them from doing it again on the next posession. And again, And again, And again.
Every so often though... it feels like the CPU is hell bent on making every single shot, and there's just nothing you can do about it.
Even the Mavericks (A jumpshooting team) just seems to abandon their strategy and go to the rack on every posession.

it's all about inside game in live 2004.
especially for those big man. they never miss any hook shots if you don't double them before they get close to the basket
Raptors VS Kings
Chris Webber scores 37pts with 73% field goals
and i have higher FG% by using left/right lean shots than normal open looks.
