Hot Spots

I have a question regarding Hot Spots in Dynasty mode.
I have a rookie I just drafted with 3pt rating of 96, yet all of his hot spots from beyond the arc are blue. This clearly doesn't make sense. So my question is, do hot spots change over time in dynasty mode?

They're supposed to, however as with other aspects of Dynasty Mode the results aren't always what you hoped for.
