It might not be at the level of Kobe/LeBron or any of the historical comparisons just yet but I think Paul/Williams is going to be a popular debate - and anticipated matchup - throughout their careers. If they both deliver a strong performance in this year's postseason, it won't settle anything but it would certainly fuel the debate.

But there is a major gap. Williams has 51% more turnovers. Paul is by all appearances, a dominant defensive point guard, Williams is average at best.

I read that CP has studied tapes of Steve nash in the past, and it shows during games when he emulates Nash on the offensive end, not giving up his dribble like Nash. For most people, holding onto the ball too long is a negative but he always seems to find the right person when he needs to. This usually results in a very low turnover night for him.

also Mo Pete, Peja, & Chandler show up for 1/3 of their games. the only other consistent player on the team outside of CP is David West. They have a really hard time winning without West. They need his inside scoring & rebounding.

I lol'd at joe saying we watch too much ESPN where they suck Paul's dick, then he goes and defends Williams like the Utah fan he is.

ESPN is anti jazz what can I say.

I would agree with that, but I think it's more about ignoring the other players than downplaying Williams.

Paul is having the best season by a player shorter than 6'3" EVER. I do not remember the last time I posted in this forum but my computer engineering class is boring the hell out of me.

What about AI in 2001?

Completely off-topic, but nice to see you around, kevC.

Not even close. AI's actual best season was 05-06 which is somewhat comparable to Paul's season but still no dice.

Thanks, Donatello.

Even though I'm an AI fan, I agree with the Texkorean.
AI at his best season is only scoring and also consider the negatives of his high TOs and low FG%.
Paul is scoring, passing, stealing, and low TOs.
