What A Dillemma...

The last few games for the Toronto Raptors have been a little troublesome. Turning the ball over, not getting the boards etc.
What could have possibly changed their gameplay?
The new GM? Nah.
The new gym? Hmmmm...

Just hours ago, the Raptors lost a heartbreaking game against the Chicago Bulls. They headed back to Toronto, got some sleep and went to the gym for an early morning practice. They would have to step up their game if they wanted to beat the Utah Jazz on thursday.

Lay-up lines, free throws, whistles blowing, plays running. That's the stuff the usually happens during practice.. right?

"It's 9:15, where's everyone at?" Bryan Colangelo began with fury.
"Heck if I know, but they should know being late for practice means 200 pushups and 100 suicides." Sam Mitchell explained.
"Wait a minute, the door was unlocked when I came."
"So?"
"That means there's someone here." Bryan points out.
"Of course! That explains the empty court." Sam says with sarcasm.
"Unless..."

Bryan Colangelo heads to the relaxation room. Sam Mitchell follows.
Colangelo opens the door, and inside are the Raptors Squad.

"How the hell did you guys get in here?" Bryan said in shock.
"We all came here earlier than usual to chill out." TJ replied.
"You know, play some NBA Live." Juan added.
"Relax in the hot tub." Chris also added.
"Have some snacks." Maceo said with his faced stuffed with potato chips.
"Get massaged by beautiful brazilian honeys." Joey said calmly while being massaged by a goregous woman.
"Whoa, whoa, whoa. I did not hire any "honeys" for this gym." said Bryan.
"Aha, don't worry B. I'll be thanking her later tonight.." Joey said in a seductive voice.
"Joey, what did I tell you about the "women" rule? Now all of you get to the gym and don't forget, you guys are late so that's 200 pushups and 100 suicides apiece." Sam ordered in a strict manner.
"Come on coach we're 5-2. We're doing great! And we got three days until our game. That's loads of time to practice." Kris replied.
"That's why you need to practice! Look at the last three games. Wins by one or more, and a loss last night after having a 16 point lead." Sam began pointing out.
"Permission to speak coach?" Jamario asked.
"Go ahead Jamario. And you don't have to ask."
"Alright, we did win our game against Milwaukee by a large amount. And that was after we had the gym right?" Jamario pointing this out.
"Yeah. We aight coach." the team adds.
Sam sighs. "Alright fine. I'll give you guys a break today. But tommorow, no exceptions."

Sam Mitchell goes to his office.
Bryan Colangelo goes to his.
The phone rings in Bryan's office.

"Hello? Bryan answers.
"Hi Mr. Colangelo, sorry about the game yesterday. How are you?" It was Maurizio Gheradini.
"Oh that's alright. I'm fine, it's just I'm having some problems. When will you be back? I want you meet my new assistant." Bryan replied.
"Oh, see that's what I was about to bring up. I won't be back for another few months at the earliest." Maurizio replied.
"WHAT?! YOU SAID YOU WOULD BE BACK TOMMOROW!" Bryan screams in frustration.
"Well sorry sir, I guess you will have to put a wider load on your back, and your assistant too maybe. Anyway goodbye." Maurizio hung up.
"Great, the team won't practice, Maurizio will be gone longer, my wife is too busy to please my needs, what else can go wrong?" Bryan thought to himself.
"Mr. Colangelo! Mr. Colangelo!" Ray Collins shouts and enters the room.
"What is it?" Bryan asked with caution.
"I just made a trade!" said Ray.
"WHAT! I TOLD YOU TO TELL ME FIRST! THIS BETTER BE GOOD, OR THAT RIGHT WILL BE OFFICIALLY REMOVED."
"Yes I know sir, and I'm sorry. But I had to jump at this oppurtunity. I'm very sure you'll be pleased."
Ray hands Bryan the paperwork that was sent to the league.
"Wow, that was a great move there." Bryan said surprisingly calm.
"I know, that's why I did the trade right away. There were other teams offering on this guy as well."
"Good job Ray. You're doing great! Does he know yet?" Bryan asked.
"Nope. I told their GM you would call him." said Ray.
"Alright. I guess I'll call him now." Bryan said with excitement.
Bryan dials the organization's number.
"Hello, hi I'm Bryan Colangelo. President and GM for the Toronto Raptors. Do you have the number for......"

I haven't been around pretty long. But you're doing great, nice recaps and the story.... Very good.

Sat Mar 15, 2008 11:57 am

I wonder what the trade is.. although how could Ray make a trade a with a team and that team not even know it  ? haha

Sat Mar 15, 2008 1:32 pm

Good story (Y)
I would say that dixon is the traded player
...or maybe delfino, I dont know

Sat Mar 15, 2008 1:52 pm

The real Bulls could use more outbursts like that. Good luck in the next game.

Sat Mar 15, 2008 10:11 pm

Kobe, Thanks. Nice to see you're still following.

Chaser, Yeah, I know it doesn't sound believable for Live..
But it did happen. Bargnani went to pass the ball, Gordon got it.
And the "team" did know about the trade. :)
Just the "someones" involved don't know about it.

GoHornets, Thanks. Hmmm, you'll find out soon..
Maybe today, maybe tommorow, maybe the day after ;)

Andrew, Haha, well the real Bulls are doing much better than at the start of the season.
And thanks. I need that luck against the new Malone-Stockton of Utah.

Nice dynasty presentation, but man, every single dynasty these days just copies Chaser7's. No offense man, but this is the most blatant.

Sun Mar 16, 2008 10:39 am

Tubero, Haha thanks bro. I'll keep that in mind ;)

GoHornets, Don't you get it? He put the BOO in caps..

Mandich, Thanks. As I said, you'll find out soon.

Lamrock, I was just thinking about that this afternoon. I'm going to change the format.
It takes a lot of time photoshoping pics, so I'm trying something different in my next update. You know, make my mark on these forums. :P

New Raptor, New Expectations

Who got traded? Well we're about to find out..

While Bryan and Sam were talking with the Raps, Assistant GM Ray Collins was handling some business in his office.

"NO! I WANT MY PIZZA MEDIUM SIZED WITH NO ANCHOVIES! THANK YOU!" Ray yelled as he hung up the phone. "Damn, we're missing that one big man, but who?" Ray thought in his head while looking at a list of the team's roster. He then looked at a list of possible players who could be of use for Toronto. One by one, Ray scratched a name out after looking at the team's cap room and the depth of the roster. When he stopped scratching out names, only one remained. He quickly picked up the phone and started dialing. It started ringing, and a woman answered.
"Hello, New Orleans Hornets association on the line, Laurie speaking." the woman answered.
"Hi, may I speak to general manager Jeff Bower?" Ray responded.
"One moment please." a few seconds later, a man came onto the line.
"Hello, Jeff Bower speaking. May I ask who's calling?" the man responded.
"Hi Jeff, I'm Assistant GM Ray Collins of the Toronto Raptors."
"Well hello Ray, how may I help you?
"How's Tyson Chandler doing for you guys?"
"Well, he hasn't been at his best lately and he seems miserable."
"I see, well I was wondering.."
"Let me guess." Jeff cut off. "You want to make an offer for Tyson right?"
"Why yes." Ray responded.
"Damn it once again." said a frusturated Jeff.
"What's the problem? You don't want to trade him?" Ray asked nicely.
"Not exactly, it's that I've been getting offers for him all week. And they've really been bugging me. There's one offer I might accept, but I'm not sure yet." Jeff said.
"My offer may benefit your squad." Ray said eagerly.
"Really? How so?" Jeff asked.
"Well, your team has been lacking shooters and help in the front court right?"
"Actually yes, our two main shooters are basically Peja and Morris. And since Tyson hasn't been doing well, David West has to do most of the dirty work." replied Jeff.
"Exactly, so here's my offer. Juan Dixon, Rasho Nesterovic and a future first rounder for Tyson Chandler."
"Hmm, sounds fair. But, I was wondering if you could add Kris Humphries. He's young and he's very promising. He could really fit well in our roster."
"Well, that's fine with me. But on one condition."
"What's that?" asked Jeff.
"I remove the first round pick from my offer."
"Hmmm, I don't know. We have a lot of young guys on our squad so we probably won't need it. Let me think about this first, I'll call you back.
"Sure thing." Ray said as he hund up the phone.

Ray's heart was thumping. If the offer was rejected, it would be alright. But if the offer was accepted, he has just changed up the roster.. without Bryan Colangelo's permission! If this doesn't work out, his job could be on the line. 30 minutes later, the phone rang again.

"Hello?" Ray answered.
"Hi Ray, it's Jeff. I have one teeny problem."
"What is it?" Ray asked.
"See, if I follow through with this trade, our roster is over the limit." replied Jeff.
"Well what if you send us one of your scrubs, err.. I mean D-League players, and then my team buys out their contracts?" Ray asked, hoping for a yes.
"Fair enough. The trade is done, I'll send the paperwork to the League, you can call the players involved. Is that alright?"
"Sure, thank you for my time Jeff." Ray replied with excitement.
"Your welcome Ray, hopefully this will benefit both of our teams." Jeff said as he hung up.

Ray couldn't believe it. He had just completed his first trade in the NBA. He couldn't wait to tell Bryan Colangelo.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Let's fast forward a bit shall we?

Bryan dials the organization's number.
"Hello, hi I'm Bryan Colangelo. President and GM for the Toronto Raptors. Do you have the number for Tyson Chandler?" Bryan asks.
"One moment please." a woman responds.
"Hello?" a deep voice answered.
"Hello Tyson? You've just been traded."
"Wow really? Where to?" Tyson replies.
"The Toronto Raptors." Bryan replies back.
"Aww damn, it's cold up there." Tyson groans.
"Haha, don't worry son. It's not. You'll love it up here." Bryan laughed.
"Oh alright. I'll start packing. Thank you sir." Tyson said.
Bryan hung up the phone.
"Well, should you tell the guys?" asked Ray.
"I'll get right on that." Bryan said.
"They'll be in for a surprise..." Bryan smiled as he walked out of his office.

Wow that is an extremely lopsided trade...
You're saying the Hornets need Shooters, when they already have Peterson and Peja? And to get better inside presence they need Rasho? Lol, nice try, but no. This trade makes no sense on paper or anything. At least the 1st round pick could have been slightly redeeming but you replaced it with a useless scrub.

It is a good trade for you, so are you now going to play Bargaini at the 3? Or have either him or Chandler came off the bench? Good luck though..

Tue Mar 18, 2008 12:42 pm

At least we know! It was chandler.
As Chaser said. This wont work for new orleans. Who's gonna be their starting C? Andersen, I dont think so :?

Tue Mar 18, 2008 12:49 pm

As much as I love the idea of Chandler as a Raptor, the trade was completely lopsided and retarded.

You: "Hey, I'll give you a shitty expiring contract, and a backup SG for your star Center. After all, you only have 2 star shooters, right? I'll even throw in a draft pick, projected in the mid twenties!"
NOH: "Yeah, that sounds great! Can I have a worthless scrub though also?"
You: "I guess... I'll have to take out the draft pick, the only intriguing part of the trade though..."
NOH: "k, done!"

Also, you are still ripping off Chaser.

I agree

Wed Mar 19, 2008 1:36 am

I have got to agree with them bro.. I think it is a little lopsided trade that favored you.. Sorry but its just my opinion.. Anyways, good luck!

Wed Mar 19, 2008 2:07 am

Feedback,
Yes I know it was lopsided. But Chandler hasn't been doing good at all so far.
Dixon has been doing good during the last few games.
Rasho and Kris have been.. alright I guess? Lol
The interest level for Dixon and Humphries was full.
I could've offered the draft pick instead of Rasho, but they're full of young guys.
Also, Peja's expected to be out for at least a few weeks, which I forgot to mention
When I post the stats, you guys might understand..

Wed Mar 19, 2008 2:16 am

you made us mad :!: just kidding :D this better be good :)

Wed Mar 19, 2008 5:19 am

well it would be an unrealistic trade in reality, but if he's really not playing well than it's probably fine. and nice start to the season. (Y)
