I read that there's a bit of heat on Cena backstage over some comments he made about The Rock that have recently surfaced. Mind you, I doubt it's rarely one big happy family backstage and if we're to believe the dirt sheets, HHH has a lot more heat thanks to his politics.

i hope cena wins that contest

Is anyone else looking forward to Wrestlemania? I'm looking forward to the Undertaker/Edge match more than RAW's main event but HBK/Flair should be special.

Same here, the inclusion of Cena in RAW's main event made me doubt about Triple H's "chances."

I also looking forward on Taker/ Edge match. It's really interesting cause the title is on the line and at the same time, the streak is on the line.
Apparently that might not be the case. John Cena is set to film a new movie and will be unable to work house shows during this time, so the Cena/HHH feud is rumoured to continue with HHH winning the title at Wrestlemania.
I'd be surprised if they ended Taker's streak here, and somewhat disappointed as I'd like him to win the title again.

That spoiler is good to read, Andrew. (Y)

I also read that major spoiler on wrestlezone.

Did anyone see the Mayweather/Big Show "confrontation" on RAW? I thought it looked pretty awkward in that it was painfully obvious Mayweather's role was pre-taped, especially when there was no reaction/acknowledgment of Show throwing his opponent all the way to the floor (which would have been great had Mayweather been in the building and standing on the ramp) and the timing being so far off. It probably would have been better if the pre-taped video just appeared and Mayweather cut a promo followed by Show storming up the ramp.

I lol at the WWE guys' editing skills.

Thu Mar 06, 2008 5:17 pm

I saw the confrontation and the timing was way off and it's hard to understand what they're talking about.

I read over at Rajah's that Stephanie McMahon was quite irate over the segment and chewed out the producer responsible for it. It really was sloppily done, especially for something that's being promoted as a big match (that I personally couldn't care less about compared to other matches on the card).

whatcha gonna do when sauru busts into the thread for no damn reason and says stupid pointless stuff towards youuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu

I'd take advantage and bring up Hogan's new wrestling project, which he claims will be an exciting alternative to the current product (presumably both WWE and TNA) which the Hulkster has deemed "boring". Of course, it should be noted that he's also been trying to get involved in Wrestlemania 24 and/or the Hall of Fame ceremony so he's obviously aware people are watching which would grant him a spotlight were he involved in the proceedings.

Yea my wife and I were actually embarassed for RAW looking at that sloppy and awkward big show and mayweather segment. His bully role is definitly getting on my nerves though..after seeing him and jamie noble on smackdown....I look forward to the inevitable win for floyd

I reckon the angle is going to turn out to be a big disappointment for the WWE. If they really have invested $20 million in it, I don't think they're going to generate enough mainstream appeal to make that payout worthwhile. It probably won't be a memorable match either. They'll come out, trash talk, there'll be a couple of pro wrestling spots then Mayweather will "knock out" Big Show while everyone chants "We want wrestling!" and the whole thing is less well received than the Playboy match.

I been browsing on WWE hompage and I saw that the Cruiserwieght Title was gone on the Smackdown roster. It seems that they really removed it and had no plans to revive it. Do you think that maybe WWE will create another title to replace the Cruiserweight championship?

you could say that about a lot of things in the last 3-5 years in the WWE.

Doubtful. They don't really make good use of any of the minor titles anyway, let alone the on-again, off-again Cruiserweight division.

Qballer wrote:you could say that about a lot of things in the last 3-5 years in the WWE.

True, but I think the stock that the WWE is placing in the Mayweather angle with his payout and whatnot is going to be a monumental flop. I don't think it will gain enough mainstream enthusiasm to get the extra PPV buys they're hoping for and the match itself will likely be one of the weakest on the card.

They retired it.
And there probably won't be a replacement.
If there is, it won't come for a long time.
Because of the many storylines they have.

Tue Mar 11, 2008 8:33 am

I think the WWE demonstrated how little they value the Cruiserweight title right now when they had Hornswoggle win it before its subsequent retirement.

Tue Mar 11, 2008 12:29 pm

Besides, SmackDown is being filled by squash superstars like Viscera and Mark Henry, so there is little time for the "Cruiserweight Division" to be used.

Tue Mar 11, 2008 12:36 pm

That too. Perhaps they could revive the title on ECW; it would kind of be a throwback to an aspect of the original promotion and perhaps give some more meaning to ECW's undercard, though with a one hour program there might not be enough time to book two titles properly.
Chris Jericho was the new Intercontinental champion.
