Hes good, but I can play smoke on the water
seriously though, he isnt
that good

Thats not to say hes bad... but I dont know if its worth going crazy about
Wed Apr 19, 2006 9:22 pm
Not that good?
The kid is playing flawlessly. He even had harmonic bends between his shredding... thats possibly one of the hardest things to do... and he's what.. 13? Technically, it doesn't get much better than that.
That said, i'm better
j/k

The best guitarist's in the world atm is Steve Vai and Satch. ( Joe Satrani
...fucked the spelling haha ).. if u are going by technique and speed...
Ofcoarse its all a matter of opinion.
Then you got Zakk Wylde, then you got Buckethead...
But my personal favourite guitarists are still Eddie Van Halen and Slash.
But on topic.. that kid is awesome. Perfect pitch, and pinch harmonics on queue whenever he wanted.. i've been trying for weeks to master that technique . =(

Gotta take it from Jowe, he knows his stuff.
Anyway, if anything, that Pokemon kid already failed in life.
Going back to the topic, he can play guitar very well

Unless he has an ugly mug, he can get any girl he wants playing like that.

Jerry C playing his own arrangement of Johann Pachelbel's Canon in D.
Jerry C is the guy that modified Canon to rock, and funtwo (the kid in the video posted by Jae) just played Jerry C's arrangement.
Which is better, funtwo's cover or Jerry C's own?
Mon Oct 30, 2006 2:42 am
they both are good, but I think jerry c plays the song better (judging on the final version...i still have to listen to the "only guitar version" of the song).

I would say the best guitarists are
Joe Satriani, Steve Vai and Yngwie Malmsteen.
I think I prefer Joe Satriani to all of them though.
Anyhow, that kid is pretty good I'd say.

People like Joe Satriani, Steve Vai and Yngwie Malmsteen are good guitarists but not the best. You may have noticed that in most of their songs there aren't vocals... Good guitarists are not just supposed to create fast and very technic melodies, they're supposed to create melodies that fit the vocals and the other instruments' melodies of a song. I'm not saying they're not good guitarists, I'm saying they wouldn't be as brilliant as they are if only they had a singer singing over their melodies.
With that said, I think the best guitarists are: Jimi Hendrix, Chuck Berry, Jimmy Page, Eddie Van Halen, Angus Young and last but not least John Frusciante (I am sure forgetting someone though).

Tom Morello. We at least have to mention his name.

I'm an elitist jazz guitar student so I vote for Wes Montgomery, Kenny Burrell, or Joe Pass.

Well, Jerry C. He was the one who originally made it.

I wanted to know what happened to that "kid" (and if I really failed life) so... *bump*

funtwo's wiki pageJeong-Hyun Lim (임정현), also known by the online alias funtwo, is a 23-year-old South Korean guitarist known for his cover of JerryC's Canon Rock.
Lim played and recorded his cover of Canon Rock during 2005.
So the fucking kid isn't a fucking kid after all when he recorded that. He must have been at least 20 years old when he did that.

Funny how one's opinion can change..
Joe' wrote:Joe Satriani's a fucking genius. I never thought I would've loved a song without lyrics

When did my opinion change? I never denied he's not the best guitarist. I never said "Joe Satriani's the best fucking guitarist ever".
That said, I was fourteen when I posted that. One can change his opinion (not that I did) in two years, especially from early to mid-late adolescence.
Anyhoo, I seriously can't believe funtwo is twenty-three. He looked like twelve, thirteen at most in the video.

Just being picky on things.
EDIT: Here's an awesome editting job that someone did, mixing a whole bunch of clips of people that played the song, "Canon Rock", all together syncing the parts of each person played, combining the parts all together to play the song. Did I mention this was a sick edit job?

It's not being picky, it's ownage.
*kisses Mofo*
Sorry Joe.

Ownage?
You people really need to learn to read before posting. I said: "I never denied he's NOT the best guitarist". That means I never denied my statement "Joe Satriani is a good guitarist but not the best".
Tue Mar 04, 2008 7:48 am
You and your damn double negatives

, his statement ends up being "I agree Joe Satrani is not the best." I admit defeat. I believe we got owned, shadowgrin.
Thu Mar 06, 2008 2:12 am
Who on Earth bumped this and why lol... wait I discovered it, nevermind.

Live and learn Mofo, live and learn. There wil be other chances to bring down Joe.
I do not not like the the way Joe is gaining intellgence.

We can still mock him and his belt/shirt.
Fri Mar 07, 2008 1:49 pm
Ha, since this was bumped and I now have a guitar. I just learned to play it.
Fri Mar 07, 2008 3:30 pm
We should make a guitar thread. We had one a couple years ago.
