Talk about NBA Live 08 here.

You know, NBA Live's commentary team changed from Don Poier & Bob Elliot to Marv Albert & (Mike Fratello at first)Steve Kerr.
Since 2004, we hear the voice of Marv Albert.
So what do think? Do you find NBA Live's commentary colourful?
My oninion:
When i played again 2001 & 2003 demos, i saw that how colourful the commentary was.
I also believe that EA should make some changes in the game for a new fresh year. Maybe they can start with the commentary team.

i liked mike fratello, not so much steve kerr and marv albert. the commentary in live 2003 was good, but maybe a bit repetitive, seeing is that every night the thing that will win us the game is "points in the paint, the team that wins the battle down there is gonna be the one that comes out on top"

I think it does a pretty good job. Probably the best if not one of the best commentary in a sports game.
They could add some generic comments about players strengths and weaknesses without using their names. This could spice up dynasty mode. Either that or record commentary about every player in the nba.

I totally agree with you. But looks like my vote still goes to 3rd option - I need some fresh voices

Well, it hasn't changed much in the last three years, so I don't really find it colorful.
I like 06 commentaries more. Cause in '08 even if i miss a jumper, Kerr start maundering about "He makes shots from that area, he's comfortable there and blah, blah, blah..

I wouldn't deem it perfect but to me Marv Albert is one of the top commentators in the history of the league so I'd like to see him paired up with a real life on-air partner in NBA Live, as has been the case up until this year. To me, the problems with commentary have less to do with the voices and the performance of the individuals providing them and more with the game pulling up certain phrases at inappropriate times.

i miss the commentary on Live 05 when you have a player like Iverson on your team and kobe on the other and they just both make shots from end to end, the commentator would say "it seems like we have a little rivalry going on" (or something to that effect)
what i really would like in Live's commentary is some emotion. i hate it when i block a lebron slash and they would just babble something about nice defense instead of the usual "WHAT A BLOCK! HE SENT THAT TO THE FOURTH ROW!"

And, yessssss !
I second it.
EA is doing a great job having the legendary commentary team and real-like faces. I can't mean why they don't show us these positive parts of the game with some nice adjustments. i.e. emotions and cut-scenes.
Wouldn't it be a good marketting?

They should try as the momentum changes, the commentary should also change. It'll probably be hard to do. . .or hard to master
