Loses connection randomly online

this has been happening quite a bit and it is really making me made. I'll be wooping someone online and in either the third of fourth qtr a "please wait" sign will come on the bottom left of screen and EVERY time this happens the connection is lost. Sometimes i get the win and sometimes a get the loss. Just earlier i was winning by 12 with 1 minute left and the connection failed and for some reason i got the loss. There is nothing wrong with my ethernet cable PERIOD. Why does this happen? Any solutions? Does this have to do with the EA server? if so....needs to be fixed because it hurts peoples online rankings. Does this happen to anyone else?

The possibility of any actual network problems aside, there are a lot of cheesy players online who will force a disconnection by unplugging their ethernet cable (or breaking the connection by some other means) if they're losing. If you're building big leads, I wouldn't be surprised if at least some of the disconnections you're experiencing are sore losers forcing disconnections to avoid registering a loss.

ya i know for the most part it is sore losers. I can tell when it is those situations. But sometimes a "please wait" comes at the bottom of the screen and the game pauses, then the connection is lost. In these cases i dont beleive either me of the other player is actually pulling the plug because sometimes it happens when i'm losing and when i check my stats, i get the win. When it happend today i was leading by like 12 with a minute left and it happend and i got the loss. What could be the cause of this? I always have a strong internet connection so i dont believe it has anything to do with my connection. But if it's the other players internet losing connection why would it force me to have a loss? dunno....its just frustrating sometimes

If it's nothing at your end then there could be legitimate problems at your opponent's end, assuming they're not being sore losers and pulling the plug of course. As to why it gives the loss to you, I'd say it's a problem with the game itself. NBA Live online has often erroneously punished players with losses when they aren't at fault.

try playing people with higher ping.
