1. Competitiveness. The money players get is ridiculous, and I can't help but think it takes away some of their desire to improve and win. Some team owners are in it to make money and really don't take a big chance of spending alot of money on good players to try and win, which also hurts the competitiveness. Not many teams have players who stick with the franchise for long periods of their career which would help develop a solid unit.

2. Officiating. 'nuff said.

3. ABC broadcasts.

Bullshit, Rick Adelman. Bullshit.

I also remember watching my only Atlanta game ever, where Mario was fouling Ginobilli constantly on these absolute nothing fouls... The commentators were saying when the refs get used to the way he plays, they won't call those fouls.

If a foul is there, fucking call it. It doesnt fucking matter who the player is.

(this is gripe #3A for me)

1a for me would be Dwyane Wade. It's been a long time since I've hated a player so much... well, I don't think it's been too long, but he's #1 on my list at the moment.

Tue Jan 15, 2008 9:50 am

Why would you hate wade? Guy is barely performing as well as he used to.

Tue Jan 15, 2008 9:55 am

I wouldn't hate someone just for being successful. Doesn't matter whether he's averaging 30ppg or 3ppg, I still won't like him.

Tue Jan 15, 2008 10:02 am

You're probably the first person i've seen saying that. That's why i asked why....

Tue Jan 15, 2008 10:18 am

i like wADe but i hate his relationship with the refs... :D :D :D
he gets a call EVERYTIME... :D :D :D
but he's still a great player...

I don't like his fans, he has an ego the size of Mars, the way he plays up to the refs annoys me, his little routine of falling over and rolling across the court everytime he goes in for a lay-up drives me nuts too. I think his game is overrated aswell.

Tue Jan 15, 2008 10:27 am

Somehow I don't really get the sense that he has a big ego but I used to feel the way you do before he willed them to the championship. I think his game is hit or miss....and streaky. He seems like someone who has to work very hard to be a great player and doesn't have the natural talent. That alone makes him my second favourite player though.

How can you hate Wade? He is so courageous...

Wade is nursing all sorts of injuries (shoulder, knee, pinkie), so he missed his first game since sitting out the first seven recovering from offseason surgeries.

"It was tough, but it wasn't my decision," Wade said.

Hmmm...for some reason, my popup blocker shut down the window every thime I tried to access this thread.

Anyway:

1. Flopping, flopping, and more flopping
2. Money, money, and more money
3. All the complaints about All-Star voting

Thu Jan 17, 2008 12:22 am

1. Flopping on defense...except when the player doesn't get the call, then it's entertaining.

2. The cheap calls offensive players get, both on continuations that come far too late after the whistle and the soft three point play awarded when a driving player drops his shoulder into the defense to initiate the contact.

3. The final minute of a reasonably close game taking 15-20 minutes to complete as the teams trade intentional fouls and timeouts. I understand why teams do it and want to compete to the final buzzer, but it doesn't make it any less ugly.

Fri Jan 18, 2008 7:11 pm

1. Bobcats not being on national television...EVER

2. Gerald Wallace not mentioned in the MVP, DPOY, All-Star voting, and Slam Dunk Contest

3. Frickin Morrison not gonna play a single game this season...I still cant get over it

Sat Jan 19, 2008 12:28 am

^^Don't forget the award for greatest player of all time going to gerald wallace by that stfu academy.

wallace is too old to be in the dunk contest. how come people still keep throwing these older players name out there every year to be in the dunk contest when it is intended for the newer players to the nba.

Maybe they should come up with a slam dunk contest for old and retired players. I wonder what Larry Nance or Tom Chambers would come up with...provided they don't have arthritis and a beer belly.

Sat Jan 19, 2008 12:29 pm

did i mention i absolutly hate it that every single time a foul is called you have 1 jerk off with that "what me" look on his face?

Sat Jan 19, 2008 1:27 pm

I'd like to post my sentiments:

1. Varejao being signed again.
2. Varejao's flop.
3. Biased officiating

1. The Bobcats are terrible. Bandwagon someone else this year.

2. The Bobcats are terrible. You can't play for a bad team and be considered for MVP. And Wallace isn't really doing anything special, so DPOY and All-Star are also out of the question. And also, he is too old to be in the dunk contest. This isn't NBA Live.

3. The Bobcats are terrible. Morrison isn't very good, and if anything, would hurt his team if he were healthy.

Sun Jan 20, 2008 1:09 pm

1- Varejao
2- Injuries
3- Defense

He is 25 so it`s not "too old"
Kobe is 29 and he could still do some nice things there, same with Wade,J-Rich and so on.

Oh, and bad things are:

1. Stern.
2. Isiah
3. Spurs.

Good thing Gary Payton isn't playing anymore to aggravate you old Sauru.

1. Officiating
2. Ticky-tack fouls/wussy rules
3. Isiah Thomas

Sun Jan 20, 2008 11:56 pm

1.Raja Flop

You need to be in your first couple of seasons. I think its first 3 seasons to be eligible. So all those players are 'too old'

Mon Jan 21, 2008 4:07 pm

1. my team, the Knicks

2. Isiah "Teflon Con" Thomas

3. James "Brain-Dead" Dolan
