Bobcats cool off Heat: Cats defeat Wade-less Heat to make it 2 in a row

The Charlotte Bobcats went to Miami to play a team without their best player, Dwyane Wade, and took advantage of the absenty. The Heat came into the game at an ever 1-1 record where as the Bobcats were 1-0 and coming off a huge win against the Bucks. The heat started Penny Hardaway for the injured Dwyane Wade. The Heat and Bobcats played a very even game through the first half, with Morrison hitting a buzzer beater three at the end of the second quarter to tie the game up at 48. The Heat stayed consistent in the third quarter, where as the Bobcats came out swinging and shooting at every opportunity they got. This gameplan gave them a 9 point lead going into the fourth quarter. Throughout the game, the bench for the Bobcats was deafening and was a real x-factor. Their bench helped pave the way to a victory and the Bobcats outscored the Heat by 13 in the last quarter to pull away. The two guys that helped off the bench the most were Morrison(15) and Dudley(16) who combined for 31 points. Coach Sam Vincent commented on their performance, "It's great to see our young players perform well when they get the chance, today was an overall great performance by the whole team. Our defense continues to look strong and shooting keeps getting better." The big Defense that Coach Vincent was talking about had 14 blocks to Miami's ZERO.

Through the eyes of GM Casey Lee

The Bobcats team was running through the tunnel, all of them with huge grins across their faces. A 2-0 start, who woulda thought. Finally the coaching staff came in followed by head coach Sam Vincent. Sam was really happy, his first year with the team was starting off great, he saw me and headed over.

"Great Game huh!?" Sam gleamed with entusiasm.
"Yea great, hate to burst your celebration and all, but I have business to talk with you."

Sam's smile drifted away and he nodded his head.

"Felton?" he asked
"Yea"
"What did they say?"
"Well lets say they threw in the second guy pretty fast after that double-double Felton put up against Milwaukee."
"Yea and that's what makes it hard to let him go."
"I know you have become to really like Felton. I'm not real set on the deal, but it's real tempting."
"The second guy?"
"Yea it's him."
"He's soft down low though."
"Hmmm, but he can shoot."
"Bargaini...I don't, you think he will mesh well?"
"I would think so, I mean he doesn't seem like he talks very much. Can't get himself into trouble."
"That's the thing, these kids are loud and outspoken, they have a good time. I mean our chemistry is great Casey."
"What do you think?"
"Well who we give up?"
"Raymond, Matt, and Othella."
"For Ford and Bargaini?"
"Yea"
"Shit...I don't know, let me talk to ya tomorrow. Maybe we can have Gerald and Jason talk with us about it."
"Good idea"

Sam walked off, his celebration mood was gone. It was decision time, Felton was an obvious favorite of Sam's. I mean, the kid has a ton of potential, but Bargaini helps some down low and gives us scoring off the bench. Though tonight Dudley and Morrison did plenty of that themselves. Maybe we could post poned talks with the Raptors. I mean we do look awfuly good right now. We'll see what Jason and Gerald have to say.

What.. the I thought I commented on this last night...

OK I'll do it again here is what I said:

I really like the storyline. Its very believable and very well written. I'd do that trade now. You trade 1 starter and 2 scrubs for 2 starters in my opinion. And damn Penny torched you for 35.. he's not even on the roster now is he?

Thanks for the compliments...The trade I don't really know what to do at this point, I'm contemplating...And Penny did torch me, most of that came in the 1st half (He was way too tired to play a reasonable amoun in the second half)

Also, if Heat had Wade I def lose that game, they didn't have anyone to come off th ebench and score for them in the second when I pulled away...I'm increasing the computer's shooting success before the next game to give them a better chance of winning...

Thanks again Chaser7 for the compliments and I don't know if Penny even plays anymore?

P.s. One more thing, you guys here about Scottie Pippen scoring 9 points and pulling down 9 rebounds in Finland? Comeback?

Pull the trigger? Or put on the safety and wait it out?

I sat at my desk waiting for Sam Vincent, Jason Richardson, and Gerald Wallace to arrive and talk about the Felton trade. Finally a knock came to the door. I have a bad feeling about this, as if Jason and Gerald wil lshut me down. I yell for them to come in.

"Nice to see ya Coach and of course Jason and Gerald."

I shake the hands of all three men and signal for them to sit down at the meeting table. Not my office, but a meeting room secluded from everyone.

I started the conversation, "First off we are the only ones that know this trade can officially go down. Everyone else has only heard rumors, including the management around here. I don't want the owner to force me to pull the trigger on this trade without me talking to you two. You are of course the team captians and now pretty much what this can result in chemistry wise."

The players looked confused. I looked at Sam and he shrugged...He didn't tell them.

I sighed and looked directly at Sam, "Thanks..." Then I looked at the two captians, "Okay, coach here didn't tell you about the trade I guess."

Jason spoke up, "The Felton for Ford rumor?"

I nodded, "Yes, but that's not it. You see, I feel we could use some help down low and the trade would also bring in Andres Bargaini."

Gerald looked suprised, he shook his head before he spoke, "Down low help from Bargaini? I mean sir..."
"Call me Casey"
"Okay Casey, we are a very physical team. Our startes play balls to the wall, all of us working our asses of and not afraid to get some scrapes and some bruises. We see a loose ball our first instinct is to dive for it. One of our teamates gets fouled hard, that player better not try to go up strong because he is going to be met by a body. Ford, yea he can play like this, but Bargaini...I don't know."

Jason spoke next, "Plus, the point guard position is like the quarterback position. Once you got one, it's best to stay with him if he is getting the job done, why take a key part away. And ray-ray is doing great, he is really maturing and I know I have only been palying with for a couple months, but man, this kid is good."

The room fell silent. This was expected and I could see a grin on Sam's face, he wanted Felton to stay. They were right though, this was a team was a bunch of scrappers, and Bargaini was afraid to get down low and try for a rebound. I made my decision.

"Very Well. Trade won't happen."

I shook both players hands and signlaed for Sam to stay. The players left.

I was feeling kind of heated, "What the fuck was that?"

Sam looked suprised at the outburst, "They don't want Bargaini, what can I do about that?"

Was he serious, "No shit, I'm not talking about that. I'm talking about you not talking to them Sam. I have gotten along great with you, you are doing a great job coaching, but when I want you to talk to your players before meeting with me than that means I want you to fucking talk to them! I mean you are a lot closer to these players than me and you just made me feel more akward than a fucking white boy going into a fucking gospel church."

Sam looked kind of offended by the statement.

"Sorry Sam, that wasn't neccessary, I just think you could have given them a little heads up."
"Sorry Casey"
"No problem, I mean I just feel this trade could have helped. It's a bummer"
"We'll be fine."
"Yea sure. Keep at it."
"See ya."

We got up and shook hands. He left the room and I fell into my chair. Scratch that deal.

Yeah I forgot to comment on Bargnani, no I dont think he would fit well with your style of play.

Good to see your second game provided more realistic results, have you considered playing longer quarters? I know there are time issues, but I believe a bonus of the 2k series is the ability to let the CPU sim out the game for you (am I correct here?).

they call it hoopcast...they sim and you can call time outs and make substitutions during simming process and then intervene at any time.

Also, for scores after my third game (already palyed) I have decided to make many changes to sliders...as in all sliders start at 50...I'm am playing on hardest level and I also increased CPU shot success to 70 (includes shot, 3pt, dunk, layup) also decresed mine to 40...so i think it should be better.

Bobcats out last Suns: Barbosa's 31 points couldn't save the Suns

The Charlotte Bobcats and the Phoenix Suns both came into the game undefeated. The Suns seemed to be the much more powerful, faster, and better shooting team. One thing the Bobcats could do a little better than the Suns though is play defense and maybe even out hustle them. They did just that, the Bobcats got an early lead in the first and from there on just kep tup with the Suns. There was one man who was trying to stand in the way of the Bobcats starting 3-0 for the first time in franchise history and that was Leandro Barbosa. Although he had 31 points in the game that wasn't enough to overcome the Bobcats.

The Charlotte Bobcats came into the game as one of the hottest teams in the NBA and the Philidelphia 76ers came in to the game as one of the coldest teams. That all changed though. The Bobcats came out underestimating the Bobcats and it hurt them in the end. In the first quarter Jason Richardson suffered an injury to his hip which kept out for the rest of the game. That put the offense in the hand sof Emeka Okafor and he rose to the occasion and scored 36 points. The Bobcats were up by two with about 4.4 seconds, when Andre Iguodala had the ball in his hands. Gerald Wallace was covering, and Andre worked with the ball and finally sank 10 footer with about 1.3 seconds left. The Bobcats inbounded to Morrison and he missed the game winner, which meant overtime. Okafor went into overtime with five fouls and fouled out early in overtime leaving the Bobcats without any offense to turn to. The game eventually ended with the 76ers winning by four.

Bobcats lose 2nd in a row: Granger and Daniels beat Cats combining for 47 points

The Charlotte Bobcats fell to yet another winless team to create a two game losing streak. This game was never close, the Indiana Pacers were up by at least seven the whole game. With Jason Richardson not at full health and Okafor getting pushed around by Jermaine O'neil, the Bobcats didn't really have any one to turn to on offense. No one rose to the occasion. Danny Granger [24] and Marquis Daniels [23] combined for 47 points and Jamaal Tinsley had a double-double scoring 13 points. After this game the Bobcats might want to really start worrying about someone to help out on offense because too many people on the team are inconsistent.

Roster update
Image
Jason Richardson suffered a minor injury in the 76ers game. He can still play, but not to his full ability. He should be 100% within 4-6 more days
Image
Matt Carrol has been openly complaining about the playing time he has not been getting and asked the front office about trade possibilities. The Bobcats responded by puttingCarrol on the trade block.
Image
Derek Anderson was activated off the Injured Reserve list to replace the struggling Jeff McInnis before the Pacers game. (He scored 12 points against the Pacers)

Kings offer Bobcats Trade: Trade talks buzzing in Charlotte once again

ImageImage

The Sacramento Kings offered the Charlotte Bobcats, to say the least, a very suprising deal. Kevin Martin seemed to be the center piece and the future for Sac-Town, but it now looks like he isn't. A Kings represenative said that the Kings have been talking to the Bobcats about a Martin for May deal, no strings attatched. The Bobcats only problem is that it would leave them short in depth down low. This trade would make Othella Harrington their backup power forward. Although this deal seems to good to be true, no one knows how General Manager Casey Lee will respond, he has already declined a two started for one earlier in the year. Will he turn this one down too?

This trade is a lot more appealing than the other one, what FA big men are avaliable that you could sign for the minimum?

I actually did make the trade and I did sign an actually pretty good veteran big man...I will have the update later tonight....I also have already began looking for a new trade that could really help my rebounding...

On another note: Kevin Martin for Sean May? :P If that Phantom guy were still here, he would be so pissed.

I think more information can be good, but it needs to be concise, if theres too much and it doesnt get to the point then its easy to loose interest.

Bobcats Make two transactions: Cats make a trade and a signing

ImageImage

Charlotte Bobcats new general manager Casey Lee made both his first trade and firtst free agent signing of his career. The trade that he approved was offered to him from the Sacramento Kings. The deal was a one for one involving the Bobcats best down low bench player, Sean May. Although May was great off the bench and added depth to their semi-weak down low presense, the Kings offered to good of a player for them to turn down the trade. That other player was Kevin Martin. This deal weakened their bench down low which resulted in Lee's next move.

The trade involving Sean May, put GM Lee on the spot to sign someone to make up for their lack of size. When looking for some one to play off the bench, Lee wanted to find some one who had been in the league for many years and with playoff expierence. A veteran big man that could help mentor Okafor, Mohammed, and Hollins. That someone ended up being PJ Brown. Brown decided to come to Charlotte and play because he feels this team can get to the playoffs this year and he is also getting promised a lot of playing time off the bench. Lee signed Brown for 1 year and $400K. The signing heavlily helped their depth problem for very cheap.

With the trade and signing the starting line-up was not moved around at all. Some people might think, why not put Martin in the starting line-up take out Mohammed and play Wallace and Okafor down low. Coach Sam Vincent believes that having Martin come off the bench will help the team much more, seeing as he helps with bench scoring and can also play at the point guard position, which meant people farther down the roster didn't have to have the hands in their game. Martin has been named sixth man of the team and Brown has been named seventh man of the team. The only player that will be heavily affected is rookie Jared Dudley. Dudley was seeing a lot of minutes, but now with Martin and Brown coming in, expect to see Dudley's minutes dwendle.

Nice recap (Y) I can tell a lot of hard work put into here, good job. Bobcats are doing better than their real life counterparts so thats good too. Ugh the Pacific Division, I'm happy to see the Warriors in 2nd, but 7-8, damn..
