Getting NBA live 2004 on Friday.

Just read previous pages so forget my previous question. But Eddy how are the graphics? :shock:

....Have they improved since last year because in the videos I've seen they don't look good...what's ur opinion?

I don't need no screens for these questions:

1. There was that 'interest' thing on the trading screen... Anything else new like this in the game? Like maybe player morale or something?

2. No that you've played the game atleast a bit... How's the shooting and the scoring? Are there lots of blocks and steals and few rebounds?

3. Are there any legendary players in the game? So you could compare todays stars with the legends of the earlier years.

4. How do you Eddy like the game? Is it fast tempo like last year or is it more toned down? And have you tried to use the sliders yet? And if you have, well how drastic changes they can make?

5. How was the off-season? I mean the draft, resigning players, signing free agents, trading players etc. Not just the training camp...

Well, how about these... Nothing else pops into mind... I maybe slept for 10 hours this week end... My brain is offline at the moment.

Just thought of a couple of things...

Dynasty issues:

How about them contracts... Can you sign players to new contracts when you want to or only at off-season? And can you set the point value of the contract apart from the contract length? You can actually do these in NHL 2004...

Are there any facilities that you can upgrade or what ever in the game??? You mentioned something about a hospital earlier on... How can you buy a plane in the game?

Just tell us what is good and what is bad about the dynasty??? And what's new...

hey guys, i know you are asking eddie questions, but just thought i would help out.
I think the shooting is pretty tough, it seems like when you try to shoot down low the cpu is all over you and you through up an akward looking shot. and dirbbling is pretty tough, the cpu boodies you up pretty good. As for blocks, for me they are pretty tough to get, the cpu does a good job of adjusting in midair. I did have some pretty good ones with Yao, but it was coming over off the ball. As for rebounds, I get a few offensive, but not much, the cpu does box out very well
The tempo is not as fast as last year, but if you miss the computer will run on you. I havent really been able to fastbreak, but it may be because i cant stop the cpu from scoring.
so far for the offseason i have only looked at resigning my own guys, and it was the same, couldnt really afford any FA cuz i had to resign kg and hudson and sprewell....sorry if i havent answered everything, also i havent looked at any old school superstars.

to you and/or eddi: i would like to know what your genaral impressions of the gameplay are. i know you´ve not tried all slider settings and you´re still learning how to play. but
-how realistic is the shot selection\distribution of the cpu?
-are there actually mid-air collisions? are they realistic?
-is the stealing realistic?
-do balls occasionally hit the rim or is it alwasy a swoosh?
-how are free throws?
-how is posting up? does the cpu always double team? is it as easy to fake and score in the low post (like in 03)?
-how is rebounding?
-are there new cameras? maybe even a custom adjustable one?

and maybe you could try to answer metsis´ questions please and do some screens of new dunking or lay-up moves?

vince carter, lebron james,kobe bryant and carmelo anthony will have their new sneakers in december or january

they will have them at the begining of the season, but we have to wait for december to got one of them

This isn't to single Metsis out, because his questions are pretty thoughtful...but can we please not be so lazy? If you'd go to Operation Sports and look at some of the screenshots and videos or read their Q&A thread....I'd say 50-60% of the tons of questions being piled on Eddy here are all answered already. For example, the above question...go to Operation Sports and read their boards or watch some videos...it's been said at least 6 or 7 times there and shown in screenshots and videos that the five Decade All-Star teams are there just like they always are.

Heck, the one question I asked I found the answer to myself...

One of the reasons that Tim from EA and the guy from Sports-Gaming last year haven't come back is because they get buried with so many questions and requests. Eddy's being really nice by telling us about the game and posting screenshots...don't push it. Put some effort into looking first, and ask if you don't find your answer...

ok smithy i will do my best to answer:
I havent tried any of the sliders yet, so cant say anything about those.
shot distribution that i have seen so far is pretty good. i have play pretty short games, only 5 min, but the spurs for example do feed duncan a lot, and parker gots the 2nd most touches when he penetrates the lane. Mid air collisions, i have seen guys drive and then a big man steps up and the like bump and a shot is altered or a foul is called, but not like 2 guys flying to the floor after colliding.
I think the stealing is pretty cool, ususally they are deflections or on double teams in the post, the ball will squirm away. Yes the cpu does double if you back down too long, the cool thing is that if the ball slips away someone will dive on the floor after it.
Yes the ball does hit the rim, and on free throws it bounces around also.
I wrote in another post about low post scoring, how the cpu bodies you up, i havent really learned how to do the jump hook yet, so i am sturggling with my scoring right now. rebounds are ok, tough to get the offensive ones as the cpu does box out very well....hope this helped man.

thanx a lot, i´m really thinking it will be a lot of fun to play and can´t wait to do so.
and concerning the jump hook: maybe i can help you this time. try pushing the shoot button while holding the back down/post up button. that way you could do that little jump hook in live 03. maybe it´s the same in 04.

There isn't a pre-season Mode. There is not draft, just the fantasy draft.

We still dont know what sneakers Kobe will wear, cause they closed the Nike Hurache 2K4 Idea, so he will wear or some Jordans, other Nike basketball shoes or as he had during media day Nike Flight Hurache

yes there is a fantasy draft as well as a rookie draft in the dynasty mode. there isnt any in depth scouting like madden, but they do list strenghts and weaknesses of a player as well as projected placement in the draft and his potential rating
One other thing that i noticed was that they have a few new plays, they have some plays for attacking the zone, and a few sets that look the same but are renamed, like Utah, use back picks with the PG cutting through, and there were a few other play with baseline cuts that looked new to me

i still have my original huraches from 1991 and they are the most comfortable shoe i have ever worn hands down.I hope they have diffrent colors for them when they are re-released this time.
