What what what? Ricky Buckets is a supreme pimp. Totaly under-appreciated. We're talking about the man responsible for the greatest moment in sports history, fer chris'sake. He shot at his own basket to get a triple double! Come on!

Also, despite my hatred for the Heat, I'm actually digging this dynasty. Keep it up. (Y)

Clutch,
Tyson Chandler would be a way better fit, Heat need a back up PF and Tyson played PF in college and in his NBA career up untill the point he went to New Orleans. Plus hes one of the best robounders in the NBA.

Pursuer
if your going to move Ricky Davis try this...
Ricky Davis, Mark Blount and someone for Tyson Chandler and Morris Peterson

Biedrins can do anything Chandler can do at 4 yrs younger , with 3 years less experience and millions cheaper which opens cap space meaning a potential quality free agent pick up; play AB/Haslem to start with aging Shaq putting the hurt on from the bench to extend his durability and effectiveness; resign AB after the season and you're set

looser, Yeah thanks, three-pointers are the hole for me this season :(

Clutch, :) I'm doing all the things realistic, I'll be keeping Wade in the IL just the same amount of time, like he was in real-life...

TheMC5, Thanks a lot, dude...

InGottiWeTrust, Yeah, I'd agree, I love the way Chandler fits in NO, but I'm not planning to trade away Davis...

Clutch, Thanks a lot for this info dude, but I ain't planning on trading Ricky buckets yet... Although I was interested in getting another center, during this years off-season, which is potentially when Shaq retires and his 20 million salary goes away...

Thanks for all the comments guys, really love it...

76ers-99

The Miami Heat won their second in a row pre-season game, against Philadelphia 76ers.
Philly had a better start outscoring their opponents by 6 for a small early lead. Iguodala led the team in the first, scoring 10 points. Miami managed to hold him off to only two more points in the next three quarters. But Sixers found discovered another dangerous scorer for themselves.
Willie Green led his team with 9 in the second period to extend their lead to 8, entering the second half. But Philadelphia had a problem to solve, they fouled 15 times in the first two quarters and had three guys with three fouls. Heat were led by Penny Hardaway who had 10 points in the first half.
Miami managed to hold off Sixers to a 18-point quarter, but scored no more themselves. Many players had poor shooting nights and Heat couldn’t execute their offense properly to make a comeback. Korver scored 6 points for the Sixers in the third quarter.
Heat finally found their offensive rhythm in the last quarter, the reason of this – Jason Williams. He finished with Jason Kidd-like numbers, 18 points, 10 rebounds and 7 dimes. Miami started the quarter with a 11-0 run, cutting down Philly’s lead and not letting loose for the whole quarter. They outscored their opponents 42-29 in the last quarter and celebrated their second victory in a row.

Notes
Heat showed improvement for the perimeter, this time making 3 of 16. Miami collected 7 fouls, while Philadelphia had 22. The visitors made 21 of 24 free-throws.

It's all good Pursuer; just so you know Biedrins plays for my hometown team GSW's and right now we're lovin' the kid so I'm biased ;) but definitely keep him in mind for later down the line

great line by J-Will and love that bottom corner pic of Shaq pulling it way back; looks like he's right about to tear the whole backboard down like his younger unstoppable self!

And also, nice "improvement" from three, 3 of 16.

Keep it up!

Despite, Durant’s offensive effort(28 points) he wasn’t able to execute in the clutch…

Box Scores
Heat-96
Sonics-93

The Miami Heat won their third pre-season game in a row. This time against Seattle SuperSonics.
The number 2 in the 2007 NBA Draft Kevin Durant had an outstanding game offensively tonight, he did all he could to make his team win, but that was just not enough.
Miami Heat started the first quarter strongly, outscoring Sonics by nine for an early solid lead. Ricky Davis had a big first quarter, scoring 12 points. Heat executed well on both ends of the court, this led to a 10-0 run in the middle of the quarter.
Kevin Durant woke up his team and reminded that they need to fight, by nailing three straight mid-range jumpers in the beginning of the quarter. On the other end of the court Shaq answered with a dunk plus the foul for the three-point play. Despite Heat’s good defense, they made pretty many turnovers and that led to a couple of easy baskets for the Sonics, along with West’s two treys in a row at the end of the quarter, Seattle won the quarter by three-points to narrow the deficit to six.
After the halftime, Durant and co. managed to execute a 9-0 run to get the lead. They continued on with the superb offensive performance during the quarter until the mark of 4 minutes left in the quarter. Then, Jason Williams’ trey fired up the Heat for a solid run in the left time of the quarter and Miami managed to get the lead back, although a fragile one, winning only by three points.
Both teams started executing better defense in the 4th quarter. Kevin Durant was the go-to guy in that quarter, scoring 10 points, but he was desperate in the clutch, when he attempted a three-pointer to tie it, he missed it, but got an offensive rebound, tried for another trey and missed it too. Heat didn’t let him attempt anymore shots and celebrated their third victory in a row…

Notes
The home team(Heat) had 28 assists and 15 turnovers. Sonics shot 41/87 from the field, 2/12 from the perimeter…Alonzo Mourning hadn’t played for 4th game in a row…

Jordan™ Player of the game

SHAQUILLE O’NEAL

21 points, 12 rebounds, 2 assists, 1 steals, 1 blocks, FG 10-14, 3pt 0-0, FT 1-1.

2 solid wins in a row, nice work.

That Ricky Davis pic in the top right against Seattle would have been so much sweeter if he was giving Durant a face full of crotch. "Welcome to the league, rookie!"

Ricky Davis for MVP!

Wait Durant attempted a 3, got his own rebound and then ran back and shot another one? I don't think I have ever seen a plyer in live get his own rebound when shooting from 3... anyways nice victory, start the regular season!

looser, Thanks a lot man, love seeing you here :)

TheMC5, Yeah it would

Chaser7, Yeah, he did. I remember Morris Peterson doing the same last or the season before the last one, the only difference is that he made the second trey...

jonthefon, Well since I'm going without Wade right now, and I'll be going without him in the first(6 or 7 I don't remember) games without him, I need to learn to play with this team, using most of the guys.

Sacke12, Yeah it does look so, though these wins aren't against big-time teams..

Marquis, Thanks...

Thanks to all of you guys, really love your attention to this dynasty :)

Davis’s game-winning trey

Box Scores

Warriors-86

The Miami Heat ended their three-game winning streak against Warriors.
Both teams played very even and ended the first quarter with a tie. Kelenna Azuibuke led his team with 12 points in that period, Heat knew the man they had to stop tonight. Besides that, Miami suffered some poor shooting problems, because they attempted pretty many mid-range contested jumpers.
Golden State’s Azuibuke scored 9 points in the second quarter to lead his team to a 12 point lead entering halftime. Miami faced big problems on offense, even bigger on defense. They were lacking good team play and it didn’t look to change after the halftime break.
Heat recovered in the break and came back with a bomb. They managed to get a 15-0 run at the start of the quarter to get themselves a 3 point lead. Their lockdown defense was a very good cure against Warriors offense. Baron Davis was the only threat, he scored 13 of Warriors’ 14 points in that quarter. Miami finished the quarter winning it by 12 to make it a tie game again.
Baron Davis showed all he got in the last quarter. Scoring 12 points and dishing out 6. Miami’s defense wasn’t so good anymore, neither were their offense. Heat’s guards had an awful shooting night, so O’Neal stepped it up finishing the game with 23 points, but that was not enough. Entering the last minute of the last period, Miami were leading by 3 points. After a jumper by Davis it was down to 1, but Shaq answered at the other end to make it a 3 point game again. Davis’s drive to the basket returned it to a one-point margin. Shaq was fouled and made only one of 2. Then Baron Davis made the highlight of the night, hitting a game-winning three-pointer with 16.2 seconds left. Miami couldn’t execute anymore offensively and had to accept the defeat.

Notes
Stephen Jackson didn’t play a single minute in this matchup. Warriors made only 37-86 field-goals. Miami outrebounded Golden State 46-42.

Jordan™ Player of the game

Thanks for the wonderful support guys, really appreciate it.

Unfortunately, because of my very very very busy schedule this year, I can't keep constantly updating this dynasty. But since I'm on vacation right now, I'll try to finally start the regular season. Sorry, but I won't be recapping the last pre-season game against Rockets, for some reason, lost some required data.
Regular season preview coming up soon...

Miami Heat 2007/2008 season preview

Image
Wade must recover as fast as possible if Miami wants anything from this season

New additions
Miami Heat's playoff run last season ended, before it could even begin. They started the regular season being swept by Chicago Bulls and ended their playoffs the same way. Pat Riley decided to shake up the roster a little bit this off-season. Jason Kapono, Gary Payton and James Posey and Eddie Jones left the team through free-agency. Heat got Daequan Cook from the draft, and traded Antoine Walker, Wayne Simien and Michael Doleac for Ricky Davis and Mark Blount. Also acquired Smush Parker, Anfernee Hardaway(but he will be released soon) and Luke Jackson through free-agency. These additions aren't as good as our losses. Miami lost two good three-point shooters in Kapono and Posey, who was a good defensive player. That is going to hurt the team, as it is already lacking three-point shooting. Smush Parker, who had a good 2005-2006 season with the Lakers, really took a step backwards and his numbers went down and he didn't re-sign with L.A. Pat Riley is expecting him to play good defense and contribute at least a little to the offense.

Dwyane Wade recovery
Wade had a decision to make, while last season was running to it's end. Whether to make the surgery and comeback earlier to the next season or have a rehab process and try to make a playoff run with his team. He choose the second and made a big mistake. After the playoffs he had his surgery done, but by now he hasn't yet had a full contact practice with his team. Pat Riley says he will miss the first 6-7 games of the season, but how much will it take for him to fully recover and reach the form he had at the beginning of the last season, putting up MVP-type numbers?

Predictions
Miami face huge problems entering this season : Wade is still recovering, the team is lacking perimeter shooters, Shaq is no more dominant. Miami needs a good start and Wade to comeback early if they want anything from this season. Also, Shaq needs to step up and be the real Shaq, because without him the team is in a state of re-building.
All in all, Miami probably will start very poorly, but with Wade getting back, Shaq should step up and Heat should make the playoffs with a 43-39 record, 2nd in division, 7th in the conference.

Richard Hamilton scored a game-high 25 points…

Box Scores
Heat-78
Pistons-86

The Miami Heat started their 2007-2008 season with a loss to Detroit Pistons.
Pistons got to a pretty good start winning the first period by six points, but Heat completely turned around their game for a spectacular second quarter. They won it 23-9 to get themselves an eight point lead.
Detroit tried to do the same thing as Miami did in the first half, but were unsuccessful. They couldn’t bring the deficit down at all, only scored 15 points, just as Miami. Heat faced big rebounding problems and poor shooting. Despite that, they found themselves on defense, finishing the game with 12 blocks and 16 steals! That helped Heat to maintain the lead through the second and third quarters, but it all turned around at the end.
Pistons broke Miami’s defense in the last period, outscoring the Heat by 16 points(36-20) and took control of the game. Heat’s defense didn’t look the same at all and their offense looked only the same. Richard Hamilton scored 10 points in the last quarter, to lead his team to it’s first victory.

Notes
Detroit shot only 36% from the free-throw line, making 8 of 22. Pistons outrebounded Heat 50-38. Miami shot only 38 % from the floor, while their opponents were shooting 46 %. Heat blocked Detroit 12 times, they answered with only 2 blocks.
