alright, who still dunks on their door?

Fri Nov 30, 2007 7:01 am

hola muchachos, haven't posted here in a while so wanted to pose a semi-basketball related question. who still dunks on their doorway?

me, being a man of little hops, i get a sense of gratification every morning when i wake up and slam a mean one or two handed tomahawk before heading downstairs for breakfast. on a good day i like to slam down what i call the double tap.. banging on the wall that's facing you, bringing back down and then back up again to slam a reverse on the other side.

don't be ashamed folks, let me know what dunks you throw down because i know i'm not the only one that does it. windmill? between the legs? share your stories.

lol, i can totally relate...every once in a while i'll pull a steve-francis-reverse-two-hand-double-pump (ala '00 sdc) or maybe some gervin-finger rolls if i jump from like 8-10 feet away

...and yes, im nearly 22

Damn man, I do that double tap thing too.

I always do windmills too. I'm 6'3" though so I do it on another larger wall though.

Not on the door, but in the air. Yes, like the air guitar, I also have an air backboard and air rim. I do those in slow motion. I am 21.

Windmills, always. Tomahawks too. 360s can be dangerous. At my parent's place I do one or two handed elbow 'dunks'

my faves have always been the windmills and reverse dunks

I havent done this in a long while, A.) Im too tall, if I jump I'll hit the ceiling or hit my head on the top of the door opening, B.) I weigh too much and if I jump in the house, shit falls off the walls. :?

the best feeling is when someone's walking out the door and you come from behind and posterize that person (think pippen on ewing)

Sat Dec 01, 2007 8:36 am

I can barely reach the doorway.... :(

I'm not that short, but I have a bad jump.

Sat Dec 01, 2007 8:36 am

I can't do dunks in our house cause I might destroy the floor on our house because of my weight.

The average door height is what, 7 foot? Even if you had short stubby two foot long arms (like Kevin "The Real Deal" Willis or a T-Rex) you'd have to pretty much be under 5 foot tall to fail at this.

Their door height is bigger than 7 foot.
JT_55 lives in a mansion.

How did you know, shadow?

Stalker  .

Mon Dec 03, 2007 4:39 am

Nice topic :)

I have a really huge repertoire of dunks. A one handed tomahawk when I feel aggressive, a windmill when I am happy and have too much energy left in the tank.

And when I leave my desk/pc I have a lot of space so Ima do the Jordan freethrow line dunk, but that not that often.

And who of you does up and unders. Like if the rim would be behind the door, thats what im lovin :)

Well im 19 ^^

Come to think of it, I don't dunk on doorways. I just tap it two-handed if I can reach it.

I always do shoot crumpled paper on a garbage can.

Well, I do that, too. Ive got a small basket on my garbage can in my room :)

Tue Dec 04, 2007 5:16 am

Haha, i didnt know this was such a phenomenon.

Ive been doing it for a long time.
One time i went for a jordan FT line dunk through the hallway and nailed it, but the momentum carried me into my window and knocked the screen out of my window. The screen fell down to the grass as i was on the 2nd floor.

Another time i did it with a real basketball and ended up making a big hole above the doorway.

But i still do it, 2 handed, or anything else i can come up with on the fly. I dont like to plan my dunks.

Aaah memories...
Used to do it all the time with my brother, but it would usually end up pretty bad due to the lack of space in my bedroom. How many times did I fuck up my skull trying to do a 360 or some fancy stuff.... :|

Sat Dec 08, 2007 4:35 am

Who doesn't just shoot around sometimes while watching games?

Sat Dec 08, 2007 2:09 pm

I still do it wherever I can (Y) Makes me feel a lot more athletic than I am.

Sun Dec 09, 2007 5:58 am

For some weird reason my first shot in trashketball always goes in when I say "Tracy McGrady" in my head.
