Investigating animations files

Since I got the game I was very curious about that unused animations files, so I started my research. And I found that these files of course works, but the game doesn’t read them in a normal way, anyway, here is a video I made showing the unused Go to Moves:

I am sure some people could say: where are the other GTM´s? well, if you take a look at ea3names you will see entries like this: GTMASTOUDEMIREHOLD,sht_gotodirkstepback. Does this mean that this animation is Nowitzki´s step back shot? Yes. So, Amare, Dwight Howard,Rashard Lewis, Paul Pierce, Ron Artest, Rasheed, Shaq and Zach Randolph don´t have real Go To Moves, they only have a Copy of Dirk´s step back shot (I don´t Know why they do that…well, you never know what EA people can do...).

I also noticed looking at ea3names that should be a Tim Duncan’s turn around jumper, but I didn’t found it in his animations files; the same happens with Ginobili, he supposed to have a running jumper fading different directions but I didn´t found them in his animations files, the only GTM that work for Manu is Dirk’s step back.

Anyway I didn’t find yet a good way to use all of them in game, but I will continue with my researches. I also managed to use three point contest jump shots in a regular game not loosing GTMs, signature shot or other jumpshots, but it´s not perfect yet, because you can´t use freestyle in movement (for me is not a problem, you still can dribble in movement with spacebar, but I will try to fix this). I guess this could work to add dunk contest´s jams in a regular game, but I haven't tried it yet, I will continue investigating…

WOW, this is really intriguing! :shock:
how you import those files in the game?

the game will improve a lot if we can use those animation
files and play with more signature go to moves~ :)

I am working on adding these GTM in game, I am not sure if I could put all of the new animations together, now, for example, if I add Melo's GTM I can't add three point contest jump shots or the other unused animations. I will continue trying...

Iverson´s GTM is not hidden, in this video showing some GTM you can see it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=thVPwHicv6Y if you are asking if he has hidden moves besides that I have to say no.

This is a great finding~I'm just wondering is there any additional hidden sigs or gtms for Kobe?

I you look at Jermaine O'neal´s GTM you will notice that this should be a GTM for Kobe, you can see that they cut the final leg kick

Nice job getting vid caps on those, the next step that me and pdub have been poking around at is attempting to get those animations in those player viv files into the xmcpshot.ord with all of the other shots. But yah, great initial work, just gotta find a way to hack in so you arent just limited to that one shot.

Lagoa, if you want a better view of that Iverson GTM http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6fKoTRwobpI at 1:41 in the video. You do it the same way you do Nash's, Chris Paul's, and Tony Parker's gtm. In the lane, lean towards the basket and shoot.

no, Kobe doesn't have new moves hidden, but I think Jermaine's GTM could work very well with Bryant adding the final leg kick...

You are great man! When I saw the video, I couldn't believe that there were hidden moves.. Really great find! Hoping for a release soon

Excellent work, ignatus. Jaosming and I were trying to figure that out. Please send us a pm. Hopefully we can work together and find a solution, that is if you don't figure it out yourself. :)

I find it amazing that you can do those GTM in practice mode.. Can you also do other GTMs of other players in practice mode with your editting?

he made the sig gtm's a sig shot, which can be pulled off in practice mode.


so basically, if you were to do that to arenas, he would do a step back jumper every time you press shoot

I put kobe's Sig gtm to his sig shot field through dbf and put tmac gtm on kobe gmt field. They still both require a fadeaway not just shoot button.
So his gmt and sigshot occur at the right area only. that means if I dont back down and just fadeaway he will do his original gtm which I put in sigshot. While backing down he will do tmac turnaround fadeaway.
