LA Lakers give to charity.

The Lakers recently made a 3rd trade sending Sasha Vujacic and Brian Cook to Philly
for Reggie Evans. Why does this trade make sense for LA? They get a veteran grab
everything he sees rebounder Reggie Evans and gets rid of a contract set to expire in
the off-season. This allows the LA Lakers to put Odom back at his more natural and
fit posistion at small forward. Why does this make sense for Philly? They get two very
young players who can develope within their system with ease. Sasha Vujacic a guy
who has the size to play SG and the playmaker skills to play PG off the bench for Phily
and they get Brian cook who has excellent offensive skills and can shoot well from about
anywhere on the court which compliments Samuel Dalembert quite well. A question LA fans
will be wondering all week is who is going to be the starter at PF during the regular season?
Evans or Williams or Turiaf? LA fans should be happy to know according to the LA Lakers
staff this will be the last trade made for the season everyone loves the potential of this
team loves even Kobe Bryant who did have a important voice in these moves.

Hmm... In your double post, you first said you were done with trades, as you didn't want this to become like a fantasy draft. Well... you made another deal just 2 hours later, and though your core remains, you traded almost the entire bench and a couple potential starters.

But whatever, aside of the excess trades, this looks nice. Can't wait for the little trades to end and the season to begin!

Haha, you insult me for a trade that is quite fair, and actually is heavily in my favor. Take criticism, don't feel you need to try to insult the person back. How old are you? 4?

Tough luck you didn't get to do the Cook trade. I've always liked Ariza.

Lakers defeat Kings.

This must be Kobe Bryant's team, it even reflects in the score. The intensity and consistency
of this Laker team is revived. The triggers pulled in the general manager office were well
worth it. Jamal Crawford only seeing 11 minutes of playing time scored 6 points grabbed
6 rebounds and dished out 5 assists but he did catch foul trouble early in the 2nd quarter then
he proceeded to foul out at the end of the 3rd quarter but despite that he played hard and
played much smarter defense then what he typically plays. He didn't get blown by much
but what he did do was contend a lot of shots even going to the point of blocking 2 shots
and stealing the ball twice. Kobe had the typical Kobe night but this time his team mates
scored in a abundance as well well some of them did. Maurice Evans scored 21 points
and dished out 2 assists in only 10 minutes of play. Odom had a big night scoring 16 points
grabbing 11 boards blocking 3 shots intercepting 1 pass and dishing out 1 assist. The Lakers
pulled away with a easy win.

On the other side the Kings didn't play like royalty tonight. Sacramento's big 3 combined for
a nice 67 points but nobody besides them scored much. A great effort by Bibby Martin and
Artest but not enough to kill the Laker's depth and poise.

Next Game: Boston@LA Lakers aka KG Pierce and Ray Ray, can they defeat that trio
like they did Sacramento's tonight? We hope.

And yeah I took a presentation idea from someone else's dynasty, I hope they don't mind.

Useless double-posting FTL.

Decent recap although not organized as well as it could be. Good luck against the Celtics.

The Los Angeles Lakers pen in two veterans.

Image Image

The Los Angeles Lakers today signed 2 league veterans to fill in the 2 empty holes in
there roster. PJ Brown who last played for the Chicago Bulls is known to be a tough,
aggressive player. Who is a very good defender and sets up some of the nicest screens
you will ever see consistently. He was signed to a 1 year mid-level exception. The
other player signed Dahntay Jones, who most recently played for the Boston Celtics
is one of the better athletes of the NBA. He has the instinct to drive to the rim. He is also
a pretty reliable defender but his jump shot could use a little work but we think he will
improve on that in time. He was signed to a 1 year minimum contract.

Player Summaries
courtesy: HoopsHype.com

CENTERS

Andrew Bynum
Great size... Good hands... Already has a very decent low-post game... A project... Lots of potential.
Ronny Turiaf
Very aggressive... Plays with a lot of heart... Offensive game needs refinement.
Jason Collins
Very big... Nice body frame... Knows how to set a pick... Will do all those little things... Lacks quickness and athleticism... Not much offensive skills.

POWER FORWARDS

Sean Williams
Impressive shot blocker... Great leaping skills... Very raw... Little offensive game... Must improve his rebounding skills... Low basketball IQ... Has some baggage.
Reggie Evans
Strong on the boards... Excellent rebounder... A workhorse... Plays dirty very often... Has no offensive game.
PJ Brown
One of the toughest players in the league... Very good defender... Grabs almost 10 rebounds per game... One of the best setting screens... Will make no mistake from the charity stripe... Works hard... Very average offensive player.

SMALL FORWARDS

Lamar Odom
An all-around player... Can play all positions except center... Brings points, rebounds and assists... His passing skills are definitely above average.. Even for point guard standards... Not always assertive or aggressive enough... Injury prone.
Luke Walton
High basketball IQ... Versatile player... Excellent passing skills... Makes everyone around him better... Has become a good shooter... Not a great scorer, though... Good team player.
Dahntay Jones
Awesome athlete... Can get to the basket... Great offensive rebounder... Good perimeter defender... Will block some shot... Jump shot still needs work.

SHOOTING GUARDS

Kobe Bryant
The best perimeter player in the league... Attacks the basket, shoots, plays D, rebounds, passes the ball, runs the floor... He does everything and does it well... Athletic and charismatic... Excels under pressure... The best clutch player in the NBA... You won't find many such gifted players in the league neither in the past nor in the future... A basketball legend... Has a me-first attitude.
Derek Fisher
A threat from the three-point line... Able to hit big shots... Has problems when guarding quicker players... Gets lots of charges... Good steals-per-turnover ratio... Not a star, but the type of player you want on your team.
Maurice Evans
Great athlete... Excellent leaping skills... Very strong... Can score in the paint... Decent jump shot... A little bit undersized for his position.

POINT GUARDS

Jamal Crawford
A combo guard... Very explosive... Good ballhandling skills... Great crossover... Usually delivers in crunch time... Shot selection is not always good... Must be more consistent... Doesn't play much D... Some more pounds would pay off on the defensive end.
Javaris Crittenton
Great first step... Good at taking defenders off the dribble... Gets lots of steals... Great size for a point guard... Still very inexperienced... Must develop his quarterbacking skills.
Jordan Farmar
A true floor general... Good court vision... Unselfish... Good leaping skills... Outside shot and defense need work.

Message to my readers: I've decided against the Boston @ LA Lakers pre-season game. We face them in the season and I don't want any previews of what will happen because I imagine all of you are interested in that game at least a bit. I will do a November Preview tomorrow sometime stay tuned.

Lakers Dominate

Crawford's Debut POG
Jamal Crawford since coming to LA a few days ago has been criticized saying
he can't run the point guard position and if he did he'd turn into a ball hog. He
must've heard these accusations because he in no way hogged the ball tonight.
He scored 22 points and dished out 17 assists in 25 minutes to help propel one
of the highest scoring games in history.

Nash's Career High
Jamal Crawford wasn't the only shocking story tonight. Steve Nash and his deadly
jumper unleashed a nasty 41 points in this one and dished out 8 assists. Steve
Nash shot a scary 80% from down town (4-5).

Kobe Bryant
Kobe Bryant had a Kobe Bryant night. The typical shoot first dunk second and
pass third Kobe Bryant. He did score 39 points. But the effectiveness he did
this with is rare even for the league's elite shooters. He only shot 26 times,
draining 16 of them attempts (62%).

Grant Hill's Debut
Grant Hill proved to night he is more then just serviceable tonight. He scored
15 points captured 7 boards dished out 3 assists and 1 steal. He played well
and we expect him to remain in the starting lineup. He shot a nice 63% from
the court as well. He played a important role for Phoenix [despite their loss].

NOTE: LA's chemistry grew from about 10% to 60% in one game. The team is
meshing together quite quickly.

you should turn the game speed down and/or shot sliders, a lil unrealistic for regulation...

Chaser7,
yeah i know i did that for game 2
see what im doing here is building my own sliders
started at default and each game im going to tweak them
by game 4-5 i should have a very good slider set that prevents me from doing huge things

but oh my lord just wait till u see my highlight reel of LA Lakers @ Golden State Warriors ;)

AirBYNUM?

Image Lakers 122 - Warriors 106 Image
* Click on Team Names for Box scores.

Bynum's Big Game POG
Andrew Bynum, 21, had a big game tonight. Not only did he score 25 points
grab 20 boards, he busted his ass to get his team mates involved. He showed
flashes of everyone tonight. He showed flashed of the old Chris Webber and his
passing abilities. He showed Kevin Garnett's on court awareness and athleticism.
And he even showed that Dirk Nowitzki isn't the only big in the West who can pull
up and shoot a 3 pointer to get things going.

Davis Delivers
Things didn't go too well for Baron Davis and his Golden State Warriors they
were expecting to win at home. But what they clearly didn't expect was this
type of offensive scheme by the Lakers. Davis delivered on a game-high 33
points and dished out a decent 5 assists.

Walton's Versatility
What is Luke Walton, besides the obvious, hes the son of NBA Legend Bill Walton?
Is he a Point Guard? Is he a Shooting Guard? Is he a Small Forward? Is he a Power
Forward? Well he played minutes at each position during this game scoring a nifty
17 points grabbing 11 key rebounds and dishing out 2 assists. You can just tell in
the way that Luke plays hes always looking for a way to either set up a team
mate for a shot or set up a team mate for a better pass. And if he can't find
either of them he has a solid post up game to go with a consistent jumper.

Andris the Ace
If not for this guy the Warriors would've faced a much worse and much more
agonizing defeat. He scored a helpful 16 points. But he also grabbed 19 rebounds.

Highlight Video coming soon :)

Chaser7,
thanks for the feedback and the dedication to following my dynasties
that was the first time ive ever really tried to make a highlight reel so i feel it was a learning experience as i go on with it ill gain skills and thanks good advice, did you see my post in your dynasty's thread?

ALL,
Curious as to what you guys think should Kobe leave or not?
If he does leave only him and Bynum will leave but im sure you'd be happy with what I'd get in return. And its a damn fair trade.

It'd pretty much guarantee a Championship.

either post here or go here and actually vote on it

ugh theres really no way to trade Kobe unless u rape the other team
i was nice in most of them to at least give them guys who could make up for their lost starters

if kobe gets traded in real life the trade would be more rape then half of them
look at that whole chicago idea

kobe is the best player in the nba
package him with solid role players

and thats qualifitcation for 2 damn good players.
