Talk about NBA Live 08 here.

They cannot do that. It is against their legal agreements. What they have done before is hide the players in the game, requiring codes or other means of extracting them.
Wed Oct 24, 2007 9:56 pm
And Andrew Bynum is udnerrated - 61!
lol at critt he is a talented but...lol...
I've seen also a lot of rookies with overall rating of 1! Yes 1!

Rosters are very messy indeed.

As Ben said, they cannot legally do that either. Unfortunately it doesn't look like they've gone the method of hiding the players and making them unlockable with codes since missing rookies like Noah do not appear in the database, nor is there any art for them.

What Noah is not in the game yet he was one of the players in all of those EA sports vids
EA have done it again, my god are they useless...

Oddly enough, he is actually included in the Xbox 360 and PS3 versions of the game but not the PC/PS2 versions.

Hey Andrew

When do You think we will see new NLSC rosters for LIve 08 ?
Thu Oct 25, 2007 8:40 am
^
I think we will see the rosters a short time after andrew gets his hands on the game...
@andrew
Did you already ask EA about the timeout bug.?
thanks..

When they're ready and not a moment sooner.

I've only just got the game so I don't have anything ready yet but they should be out soon. Fortunately the faces from NBA Live 07 are fully compatible with NBA Live 08.

I've sent an email about it, yes. Check out the announcement thread here in NBA Live 08 General, as you can see I'm compiling a list of issues and user information to submit to EA Sports in the hopes we will get a fix for the game.

hhmm just a question.. pardon for my being a noob here, but how do we update rosters if we are playing the PS2? thanks
Fri Oct 26, 2007 7:51 pm
In 08 Chris Quinn of the HEAT is listed as 35 years old...
I think it would be a good idea to update the rosters: right players in the right place, but not to edit the stats of the players too much(except maybe these 80+ 2nd round rookies) Because I would be unsure of how differently the stats could affect the player's perfomance. I know Haslem was 75 or 76 last year. This year they downgraded him to 70, but maybe that's accurate to NBA LIVE 08 and the way it works.
you don't have to llok up salaries online to make trades. You can go to OFF-SEASON CENTRAL and check player contracts for every team. It's still extremely inconvenient and annoying though. I was able to trade shaq + scrub for howard + lewis. HAHA! Then i traded lewis straight up for pau gasol(who seemed to be exhausted withing th first 2 minutes of the first quarter... not injured) strange.
Well anyways, the NBA season starts this coming tuesday so the final cuts in the rosters should be finalized by this weekend.
Sat Oct 27, 2007 5:32 am
Fixing the rosters will be a huge job, not only do you have to fix up all the screwed ratings, but having to create a tonne of players and getting their ratings right aswell.
For one I can't understand how Tyrus Thomas' jumping rating is only ~70 (forgot exact number), not to mention his abysmal block rating.

Now that's getting Wade some decent help!

There's a lot of bio data that's wrong too...player ages, draft information and whatnot.
jimpworld wrote:hhmm just a question.. pardon for my being a noob here, but how do we update rosters if we are playing the PS2? thanks
I don't think there's any updates except for self-made updates that can be shared and distributed by use of a Gameshark/Action Replay.

I did the 2007 draft and Josh McRoberts was picked 1st overall and had a 89 overall rating
Tue Oct 30, 2007 6:28 am

It's coming soon. I'd like to make the initial update as detailed as possible though and unfortunately there's a lot to fix out of the box.
Sun Nov 04, 2007 5:12 am
Are you able to edit the future draft picks and who they belong to? Been trying to look for where they are located and I'm coming up short :S.

The priorities for me would be the ratings, lineups and missing players. Right now I couldn't give a crap if a certain player is actually 240 lbs or 6'8 instead of 6'6, etc. I don't care if they don't have a cyberface or portrait, either.

I hope someone can supply a database for the messed up rosters, it will be toxic to update players ratings one by one..but hey.. all for the love of the game

That's pretty much how I'm looking at it, though I'll alos be fixing player's birthdates since those errors are going to be problematic in Dynasty Mode. Cyberfaces and portraits shouldn't be a problem either but I'll be using placeholders for players whose faces I don't have rather than delaying the release.
