Playmakers NEXT GEN NBA Live sliders/playbooks/player edits

Hey playmakers are you going to make a file with all the edits you have done?

I'm not going to create a file this year because most people will be down loading updated rosters which will make the file useless.

So instead I'm going to post the changes that i made to a specific rating global or individual.

Once everyone is settled on rosters they can input the #'s i post for each rating. It's really not a lot of work this year because EA has a great new ratings tool that will allow you to edit entire teams at one time.

That way I don't have to send 100's of emails this year with the file. I should have everything posted within the next day.

tried your sliders... and for me the scores are way too high on 12 minute quarters. i am scoring in the 140 range.... so maybe i should lower the game speed a bit more? or should i lower the shooting sliders more or maybe lower everybody's shooter's mentality, not just for the point guards?


also....
the cpu picks off way too many passes and i keep getting charged for offensive fouls. maybe i am just playing sloppy, but that seems to happen way too much. should i just lower the cpu interception slider and the offensive foul sliders?

I play on 35 speed using 8 Minute qtr's scores are pretty good.

You can adjust any slider you like to fit your game play style. I just try to help out to give guy's an idea on some things that might need increased or lowered.

I posted all of the global edits I made to each player and the defense got a boost up in this game. I also made the AI smarter in terms of moving without the ball and finding open players. I stepped up the AI's perimeter defense and increased the low post action to get more guy's using low post moves to score on you.

I still have to finish up the PG's and Go To Guy ratings but when you combine those two modifications to the set plays assigned to teams it's like night and day compared to playing this game right out of the box.

I think you guy's are going to really enjoy seeing some of these players operate on offense now. I was going to increase the Triple Threat ratings for all the star players because that rating gets them to utilize more more moves on the perimeter with head fakes and jab steps. The only problem is the Human player can abuse the ratings, while the CPU controlled players use the Triple Threat pretty damn good and realistic doing game play.

I'm almost done and I'd say if you have the time to input the settings I've posted it should definetly improve the play of the PG's, boost up the the defensive awareness of the CPU, take away most of the rebounds hitting the floor, get players to perform much better on the break and lastly make the halfcourt game really play well......Go To Guy's will definetly do their thing and support guy's will work to get open off the ball.

Unless of course it's the Lakers where i made Kobe ignore his teamates....

I'm finished and if someone wants me to email them the file so they can create a zip file for everyone let me know.

The file will completely change the way the players react and play on the court.

The animations and speed of the game will suprise a lot of people and it might change quite a few people's opinion regarding the game. It's not anything like the default game play anymore. In fact I'm confident to the point some of you might even consider this the best playing NBA Live ever once you see how every thing has been tied together.

I noticed the players still react a little slow to loose balls, and I would like to see a little more steals. Which slider do I adjust to control that?

You can increase the Steal Slider or INT Slider to get more turnovers.

There's also a rating called Hustle in the game. If you increase that rating for all players they'll go after loose balls much quicker. I only increased it by 25 points gobally for everyone but you can go higher and see if that makes them react the way you want in going after loose balls.

I also went back and adjusted the players speed attributes by +15 globally for everyone and then put the game play speed at 25 on the sliders and it made everything feel a lot better. In fact if you test it out you won't even notice the slider is at 25 speed overall once you increase the speed of the players.

I sent the file off to the poster who left his email. Hopefully, we can get a zip file created and everyone can check it out soon.

Can this zip file be added to the xbox 360 memory stick?

I think someone should give this file to EA and ask if this can be an xbox 360 update!

Playmakers, how will the player rating change for the Free Agents? There isnt a global editing feature for the Free Agents. So when one is signed will I have to change his hustle, Def. Rebound, etc. for each player when he is signed? What could we do?

you do realize that even though this improves game play, there are now going to be 20 or more guys in the game ranked 99 overall, and many more in the 90's. this really throws off the balance of power among the teams. i mean, i adjusted the hawks using the edits you posted and the team ended up being 97 overall... the celtics 99 overall.... how is that realistic?

I realize this but if you have to understand the ratings at default is set low because EA wants you build players up during dynasty play. They did this last year aswell. But the problem is people can't see how much better the game plays if EA would just provide better ratings. They make all the players dumb in terms of rebounding, passing and off the ball awareness.

Every big man is taught how to block out the first day he steps foot on basketball court, every PG is taught how to make passes, and most players in general know the basic fundementals of the game. I shouldn't have to train a pro player for 2-3 years just to teach him how to box out or pass the ball or go set a pick.

The team(s) overall ratings will seem high compared to the Default rosters but that's only because EA had some shity ratings for passing, defense and player awareness for off the ball. But the point is don't pay attention to the ratings just watch how they translate much better on the floor within game play.

I'd say if your happy with the game at default then these changes might not fit your style. Trust me I don't like having teams rated all highly either but I also don't like watching players constantly standing around, letting rebounds fall to the floor or going brain dead on defense when someone drives by his teammate.

The best thing EA couldv'e done is make the players smarter right out the box. They did this in Madden and NCAA football and that's why those games needed major tweaking.

It's either EA starts to do something about their product out the box or else will continue to have to make modifications like these just to try and get the best overall expeirence out of the game.

Someone figured this out for Live 07 after the file was released.

ok jaosmith ... you lost me. how do you get this as a file without making the adjustments yourself? do you download it on your computer and transfer it to your xbox 360 somehow? i have never attempted something like this... and the programs that you listed i am not familiar with. can we get a step by step? i am a little lost here, not being a patcher or anything....

do you have either the datel memory card transfer kit or the XSATA attachment?

Yeah it does but I've recieved a few complaints in regards to dynasty play for those who enjoy playing multiple season's.

So although the ratings I first installed improves the overall game play aspect it improves teams like Atlanta and Charlotte right away.

Keep in mind my attentions weren't to make the entire league stronger but to make the players smarter on both sides of the court and improve the rebounding to take away the issues with the ball hitting the floor way too often.

While the file does solve most of those issues the side effect to that is the teams overall ratings will go up substantially. I blame EA for this because their default ratings hurt the game play more than it helps it. They have a system setup that requires you train players in order for their passing, rebounding and defense to improve. While the thought process by EA is good they don't realize if they don't include enough sliders like team specific sliders the game right out box won't be as good because of the lower ratings in terms of rebounding, defense and passing.

The reason why you'll see guy's constantly moving on the field is because they all had their Off The Awareness ratings increased. What that does is improve a players IQ when the ball is away from him. You'll see more Big's look to set picks and roll to the basket and you'll see more perimeter players look to come off the screens better or sneak back door on your defense.

Defensively they rotate better and collapse the paint more. They adjust quicker to tendencies used by the human player.

That was all the good things about the file......but unfortunatley I'll have to go in and modify it by dropping some ratings back down to seperate the teams overall ratings. This will bring back some of the problems that existed before the file but the teams will be re-rated individually or based on key players.

My goal will now be to keep teams like San Antonio and Houston much better defensively than the Suns or Warriors. What I'll do is seperate defenders like Shawn Marion and Raja Bell from the rest of their teammates.

I'll go back in and utilize the ratings to force teams to play their own style more often. That means while the Suns and Warriors will dropped defensively they'll be increased in ratings like fast break anticipation and 3-pt shooting likely hood. It doesn't effect their actual shooting ratings it just increases the likely hood that those teams will shoot more 3's and look to run more often than other teams.

I'll take teams like San Antonio, Houston, Detroit and Miami and turn them into pure half court teams that play with a slower tempo.

I apologize to those who who didn't want all teams improved for purpose of dynasty play and I'll go back and modify teams and individuals based on playing styles.

I'm not adjusting any shooting ratings, shot blocking ratings or rebouding ratings that were assigned. It'll take a few more days to straighten every thing out.

As for the question about free-agents what I'll do is sign players to a team adjust their ratings and then release them back to the free-agent pool to solve that problem. I can't do anything about the incoming rookies unfortunately.
