Talk about NBA Live 08 here.
Tue Sep 18, 2007 6:46 am
But there's an opportunity for EA with OEM partners, to bundle NBA Live with new PCs to help drive sales.

I was probably already mentioned, but i have a question about PC ver.
Will PC ver. of NBA Live08 have national teams ?

he works for 2k, trust me

that was a laugher.
I'm just debating if I should take the plunge on a core 2 quad now, or wait until the new quad cores come out that have 4 cores on a single 65nm die. the Core 2 quad out now have to regular core 2 dies kinda "slapped" together.
Vlizzle, there's a saying. Better to keep one's mouth shut, and be thought of as an idiot - than to open one's mouth, and remove all doubt.
That may serve you well here.

I know that I don't spend a ton of cash on computer parts to play games, but I thank EA for leaving PC in the dust. I mean, yes, this is where EA started, and they forgot that. Too big to remember why they are too big.
Thats okay by me. EA is just a name to me now. Their programmers are nowhere near the top, but their contracts are, and thats what seems to fool people.
I own a PS3, but TBH, the PS3 is pretty bad as far as media features and performance compared to a PC. Maybe 20 firmware upgrades from now the PS3 will be comparable to, what then will be, last gen PCs.
But hey, all these games that come out for the console, and the price of them compared to a PC. Yay, we can keep adding more crap to the table, when most people have a PC already, and the money that goes into the console can upgrade or replace the PC.

No official word on it but seeing as though it's a port of the PS2 verison and the PS2 version has been mentioned as having the national teams it seems highly likely that they'll be available in the PC version as well.

What did you think was the best part? I like when he says 360 stands for 360mhz. Dude 360mhz is like a PC I had in 1998.
Mon Sep 24, 2007 3:21 pm
haha yeah.....i had 388Mhz...that was pitiful
Mon Sep 24, 2007 3:28 pm
Christ, in 98 i had the destination pc from gateway. Pentium II 400, with ATI Rage 3d Pro graphics. I cant even remember what the memory standard was. Anybody remember that computer, it shipped with a 27 inch television. I remember Daisy-chaining my Gravis gamepad pro's on one port so I could play triple play baseball with my cousin and friends.
Ahh, to be 16 again.
Mon Sep 24, 2007 5:02 pm
lol
he even thinks that amd athlon 64 is 64mhz
Tue Sep 25, 2007 3:56 am
lololol
but yeah, its kinda sad that some of us (including me) have PCs that can handle Xbox 360 graphics (i have an overclocked Core2duo, 2 gigs of ram and an 8800GTS) but we are getting xbox1 tech
solution? 32XS anti-aliasing, 16xanisotropic and all stuff on high lols
is it really that hard to port the xbox360 version to PC? and maybe have options for low graphics for slower PCs?
@FlightLevel23
correction, the 64 doesnt denote the "series" of the Athlon, its means the CPU is 64-bit capable (AMD was the first to offer 64-bit CPUs hence, maybe, the reason they put 64..as bragging rights that . back then, they were the sole CPUs that were 64-bit capable)

EA Sports claims it is. But Medal of Honor: Airborne (made by EA) is a 360 port. I think it is they just don't want to spend the money and/or time to do it.

They are two entirely different graphic engines, if they make the switch, it would be kind of ghey to have two completely different versions of the same game. If/when the switch is made, its going to be all or nothing. besides, I hate to say it, but the first shader model 3 cards are about to be 2 generations old. Dont you think its about time for those that are serious about using a computer to play games to make that next evolutionary step? How long did you expect that Radeon 9800 to hold out, lol?
Tue Sep 25, 2007 2:47 pm
I think he meant the ability for lower graphic settings, like in your every PC other game in existance. So you could load lower quality textures or models, turn down or off shader effects, etc.
Tue Sep 25, 2007 4:57 pm
It's cpu load that can't be altered. When the core game-engine demands processing power beyond your machine then it is a problem, and you can't scale an engine below the core game requirements. Eye candy is more easily scaleable.
I'd love to have the 360 live on my pc, bioshock runs mostly well on full on my rig AMD3700+ single core, 9700GT SLI, Medal of honour airborne demo too. Live gets the most replay of any game I own, I can't believe even though I shelled out a fortune for my pc(which I also use for my business, don't think you can record and produce music on a 360

) that I want a 360 just to play live. etc.
Tue Sep 25, 2007 4:59 pm
that's right Nvidia have released 9000 series cards and I'm the only person in the world who's got one
7900GT

So trying to bring this thread back. What do you guys think the first things patched will be? And who will do it?
Tue Sep 25, 2007 9:23 pm
im not announcing anything, but an AI update, lighting update, a complete jersey pack, logo updates for the Hawks and probably Jazz again, complete court update, and probably 10 different roster updates. This will all probably happen before Andrew completes what he does to his roster and releases his v1.0.

i agree, even the 8600GT/7600GT arent that expensive (for a gamer) and i think those would suffice if EA were to port the xbox 360 version to the PC instead of the old Xbox (although low settings probably) but damn, when you can do ridiculous AA on a game, then it must probably very old
on the other hand, the 9800s arent the most popular cards anymore according to a valve survey..in their poll, most users were on 6600GTs ( a tad faster than the 9800Pro) so i think (well i wish) EA would capitalize on that
