The PS3 version of Live 08 has motion sensing freethrows. Simply hold one of the following buttons: R1, R2, L1, L2, and pull the controller towards your chest until the ball is at the players head, and then pull the controller down.

I know my explanation sucks, so use the freethrow help by pressing triangle first, then press X to read the motion freethrow help. Press X to close the help.

Obviously this is only for the PS3.

Yeah, the motion sensor in 2k7 sucks because it's delayed and it's hard to know when to release it because it's different than it is on-screen. And when you do time it right, if the controller is slanted in any way you miss. (I used the analog in 2k7, but online when it was forced upon me to use motion sensing, I missed every free throw, and so did my opponents)

The way NBA live 08 does it is much better because it's responsive, BUT I can't do it natually like a shot (hold my arm up and release instead of tilt backwards with 2 hands) In 2k7 I did it naturally like a shot and had much higher success than when i tilted it back with 2 hands. In live 08 demo I have to hold the R2 button, so it's hard to keep it straight when you hold it with one hand (but it is VERY responsive compared to 2k7 and your motion is the same as what's on-screen)

If they had a feature where you could make it use motion sensing by default, I'd definitely use it.
