why the hell are foye's and crawford's ratings better taho roy's?

i honestly dont know why some of you even bother to view the overall ratings. most of you will just bitch and complain then change the rateings to what you think is the best. people complaining cause duncan is a 91 overall? that sounds about right to me. when he can learn to knock down 3 pointers and run the floor with the guards then we can hail him as a 99 but until then 91 is great. people look too deep into overall rateings. here is an idea, pick a team to use for dynasty then before you start, edit everyone on the team so they all have 99's

question, what I like bout Live on PC is that you can update the rosters, will this be possible for the ps3 version? this is the first time im buying a bball game for a console...

If this game sucks again, I'm hoping EA's upper management is gonna fire the entire Live development team. Interestingly, ever since Tim joined the squad, the product has been mediocre ever since. Not putting the entire blame on Tim, but seriously, what the hell is wrong with the EA team in BC?

Quick question, why is everyone so upset? I mean just because a player is rated low doesent mean that they wont be able to score the basketball in the game. It just means that they arent the best at every part of the game. If a person is rated 75 or so, they may be a beast on offense but no so much on defense. Lets not be so quick to judge . Afetr all, isnt it over 80 player ratings? Your favorite player isnt a 99 at everything.

okay, western conf FINALS team utah jazz gets the shaft. i dont' care about GS (if they were so good, why didn't they beat the jazz?), or other teams like that.

deron and booz (not my fav. players, btw) also have low over-all ratings. but whatever, it's just ratings . . . chris paul is over-rated (as usual) didn't see him avg. close to 30 ppg vs. the spurs in the west finals, did we?

Lebron at 96 is fine fools, he led a crummy team to the nba finals, and anybody in detroit will find it hard to say he's overrated.

15th yet they got the 5th best record in the west and made it to the WCF. They should at least be top 10. They are better than the bobcats, kings and clippers I will tell you that. Rockets are overrated.

Jazz are rated 76 but their starting 5 is probably one of the best in the L and the game will probably reflect that.

You know now that I think about it that's probably true. It just that its so weird to see a team who made it to the WCF rated so low in comparison to other teams like the Lakers or the Cavs.

in all the older versions of live i used to only keep a 8 or 9 man roster which always made my overall really shitty

Bulls are better than the 8th spot and Nets are not the 6th best in the NBA!!!!!!

Jazz should not be worse than the Cavs, Lakers, Clippers, and Kings (how the heck did kings get 14th spot anyways?)!

Raptors are much better than being in the 28th place out of the 30 teams? What is EA thinking?

Player Ratings:

First of all I don't consider Duncan a center, and Yao is better NOW than Shaq, couldn't they get this right.

KG a 92 while Duncan a 91????

Lebron James and Kobe Bryant are both 96??? Last time I checked Lebron couldn't shoot a jumper in the previous season and doesn't know how to play defense in the mediocre east.

And if you're going to say, "well one makes his players better" then Duncan should be 94 and KG 91, and Steve Nash should be 94 and Gliberet Arenas 91! And if you're going to say, "well one doesn't have the supporting cast" then Kobe should be 97 and Lebron 94.

Sometimes I think those EA NBA Live producers don't watch basketball. They cannot get the gameplay right, and they cannot get the rating right either. I guess watching that vid where 2 of the best Live players asked the Live team questions showed they didn't have much b-ball knowledge!

I disagree. The Raptors are 28th, and they have one of the deepest rosters in the league. Compare that to New Jersey and Boston, who have a bench worth potatoes, and they're 6th and 10th, respectively. I think the ratings are based on the highest 3 players and lowest 3 players on a team, then averaged out between the two groups. Or some other algorithm that clearly does not make sense.

well, if you think the rocket's got better than they remains to be seen. they have a more offensive minded coach so their defense will go to pot. (a defense that couldn't keep a team as good as the bobcats from getting 3rd chance shots in the 4th quarter of a game 7 in houston last season just got worse) their coach has traditionally used his centers as high post weapons who pass -- which completely negates yao's offensive game.

the coach likes to run, and the team seems to have made changes to accomodate that -- yet again negating yao's presense in the offence. yao makes mark eaton look like carl lewis. put him in a running system and see him transform into jake tsakalidis before your eyes. (hyberbole)

their main weakness last season was defense at PG. what they've done is added two other guys at PG (mike james and franchi$e) who can't play defense, and like unlike rafer, are shoot first/pass second players. (taking the ball out of yao and tmacs hands)

their secondary weakness was inside toughness and power forward play. they got rid of juwon howard (who is a legit inside player who has toughness) and got scola -- who has so well internationally that i think it's fair to say that the rockets already won the next two championships without having to play a single game yet with scola in the nba. i think this strategy bodes well for the rockets because they currently have t-mac on their team, and he hasn't been able to get out of the first round in his entire career. winning two titles based on a south american powerforward signing with the team leap-frogs their inability to advance in the playoffs. (you know, that thing that the jazz team did 2 times last season)

jazz HAVE improved. boozer will get all-star calls for the first time in his life. memo is a killer in the regular season who hits game winners, and as seen by his defense against yao ming, he has learned how to defend now. andrei can't possibly have such a bad season again. paul millsap will no longer be a rookie and be allowed do to more on defense (as a rookie he was blocking guys like melo with regularity), he has also added more of a floor game and hit buzzer beater three pointers in the summer league. he has expanded his game -- and he is only a 2nd year player.

deron williams is one of the top PGs in the league, the playoffs was his coming out party, and be sure to see big things from him. (he's spent the off-season being tutored by his role model jason kidd . . . expect bball IQ improvement to say the least)

utah's main difficulty was finding a guy who can make shots -- and seem to have found one in morris almond -- voted by his rookie class as the best shooter. sure, he played for a smaller program in college and was drafted late in the 1st round. but you know what? he's the 4th or 5th option on offense, all he has to do is get open and make shots. he used to make shots seeing tripple teams in college.

utah didn't have to shuffle the roster too much to improve, as their core is so young, playing another season together is all they need. when they are at their peak teams like the suns, mavs and spurs will be on their decline.

houston made a lot of moves -- that doesn't really translate to a lot of anything right now. utah proved that they are the better team.

but video games always sleep on utah because of their market or popularity or lack of stars. their team has three 1 time all-stars on it (boozer, okur, kirilenko) -- which other teams in the west start three all-stars at their front court? utah's best player (deron williams) is a great floor leader who makes clutch plays.
