I'm pretty sure this is Xbox 360/PS3/Current Gen only. Why would they spend time on the last gen dynasty?

Yeah, there are a couple of new things. We haven't been able to do Sim Intervention in the past because of the way that our simulator worked. It actually worked kind of backwards: we would kind of predetermine the score and results based on ratings of the teams, and then we would construct a box score after we knew the result, which is very backwards. What you have to do if you want to do Sim Intervention is you have to build your sim engine the right way, and essentially you have to build it in a possession by possession way. So you're actually simulating each possession, one at a time, using the ratings, almost as if the game was running in the background. It gives you a lot more accurate simulation results, so just the fact that it's an all new simulator is pretty cool

Finally. I have no idea why they ever built the engine the opposite way.

The other thing that's kind of cool is that a lot of things that used to take multiple days in the season happen instantly now. So that makes a big difference as far as how much time you have to spend. I always found it very annoying to propose a trade and then have to wait a day and then the guy would respond; you do all of that stuff now and it's instantaneous. You're making trades -- they either happen or they don't.

Alright, so a step back from realism.

So we came up with this idea of three different directions that the team could take. You could be a rebuilding team, an up and coming team or a contending team, and that will change how the CPU team will accept or go after trades and which ones they will accept, the kind of free agents they go after, and the roster decisions they try to make. Do they keep the young guy or the experienced veteran? The teams use those as a guide to determine how to handle their rosters.

So if you get a team like the T-Wolves, for example of a team looking to rebuild, certainly now that KG is gone, they're looking to dump their salary. They're looking to add young talent; they don't need a lot of veterans, especially high priced veterans, because they aren't going anywhere this year. Whereas if you have a contending team, they might be willing to take on a salary, especially if they have room under the cap, while other teams wouldn't. I think it makes it a little bit more realistic as to how teams approach their roster.

Well, we did a couple of things with this. We added the Mid-Level Exception to give give teams at the cap a chance to do something, but we also added a Free Agency persuasion mini-game. You've always had the ability to go out and get free agents, but what we wanted to do was include the persuasion part of it; you know, the wining and dining that really goes on in real life. You know, if you're going to sign a free agent, it's isn't just about who gives them the biggest contract, although sometimes it is. But there are other sorts of things, such as the role they'll have on the team or where is your team: are you contending for a championship or not. What's his playing time going to be like?

Unfortunately, it looks like they still have Overall Ratings in Dynasty.

IGN has a habit of leaking info early so I'll be doublechecking before posting the Dynasty report and my impressions (because I could get into a lot of trouble if I'm not actually allowed to say anything yet), but it would seem I'll be able to talk about it at last.

So far so good tho from what I read. .. 2k's don't even compare to this

I'm allowed to talk about Dynasty Mode, so my report from the Community Day has been posted. I'll try to answer any questions as best I can.

do dynasty mode have a stat system like in madden
where u can look back previous years u played in dynasty

Yes, but I don't think it's as in-depth as Madden.

Live's Dynasty features are just sick, I'm blown away. Adamantly, I'm a 2k guy, but there's no doubt that I'll at least rent Live a couple times to play around with the features. I really wish Live's gameplay was a little better, I never would have stopped buying it. But between the unbelievable new Dynasty features, FIBA, and other small additions, I have to check it out.

I like Live's dynasty in all of the games.Hope to like 08.

hmm disappointed by no 3 team trading, but if the trading system is a lot better this year (which it sounds like it is with the salary calculator among other things) then it won't matter much.
