The Wii is a seventh generation console. Its technology is not as advanced as the other seventh generation consoles.

The NBA Live 08 game for the Wii is based on the last gen engine. The PS2, PC and Wii versions have essentially the same engine. The X360 and PS3 versions will have the current gen Live engine.

After reading the blog entry, it actually looks like the Wii development team tried to make this game fun. It sounds good so far, and the one new video at IGN is decent. The fluidity of gameplay looks much nicer than the 07 version, and the shooting mechanics look better than the PS3/XBox 360 versions. It will never look as good as those two, but who cares if the gameplay ends up being great.

I'm excited to read the next blog entry for sure.

speaking of which, Jao said over in his 07 thread that hes currently trying to find a way to use wii controllers for the pc so that itll be even cooler with custom add-ons and lighting fixes plus the wii-feeling. to top it off, its going to work for all lives 05-08

Wii probably hs better gameplay then current-gen but current gen graphics.

EDIT: i looked at the video again and at the end where Bowen blocked James he didn't actually hit it, it just did the block animation and then the ball flew away.

Took another look, yep I do see an all 3d crowd That's a screenshot of the next gen version with some Wii Family Play overlay pasted on it.

I agree with PDUB, that looks like u just pasted a wii play over a xbox 360 version of nbalive. If not, than wii has improved(which i highly doubt)

Just looks plain bad. Graphics look like 800x600 or something resolution and the lighting is horrendous... won't need to mention the numbers seeing as how you guys already did.

Thats a psp version, look at the shoes. They all have thos on the psp version
