Outkast - Speakerboxxx/The Love Below

Mon Sep 29, 2003 5:50 am

I just bought this CD last night and I really like it. As with all double-disc, most of the tracks are bangers, and then some could be left off, but overall its a really good CD.

Andre's CD is very different, but I dont know which CD I like better.

IT's a must buy for any hiphop fan, IMO

This is weird because I was actually going to make a post about this wonderful CD...

If you're an Outkast fan, definately pick it up. It's only $14 right now, and it's a double CD. All the pre-release reviews were calling it the best rap album of the year, and I'm going to agree with them. The beats are crazy and different, more of a funk sound than anything else, especially Andre's CD. Andre's is kind of a party style CD where everyone's working on hooking up...good to dance to, fun enough to just hang out to, smooth flow on lyrics and then a bit more "romantic" (if you can call Andre's singing about fucking romantic) style that'll grow on you the more you hear it.

Big Boi's CD is a straight contrast to Andres, and while I found Andre's immediately enjoyable, Big Boi's is growing on me as I listen to it. It's more upbeat and quicker, but it's not quite as fun as "The Love Below."

If you want to check out a few songs, check out "Happy Valentine's Day," "Hey Ya," "Pink and Blue," "Spread," "Bowtie," "Bust," and "The Way You Move." All great songs. (Y)

The new Nappy Roots CD is also very good, not as good as "Watermelon..." but it's a great album and also pretty cheap.

Besides Bubba Sparxxx's Deliverance this is the other CD im bumpin right now. Outkast are one of the greatest duo's in hip-hop history and they dont disappoint with this.

just because i liked the Hey Ya song, i downloaded the entire album the other day (sorry i am a pirate). andre is very different, he only rap one song in his CD, but just like shane said, his CD is enjoyable. i haven't listen to Big Boi, but i think i will later on.

He raps more than once. If you listen to the very last track (20) its a long life story on him..probably the best song on either CD, lyrically.

yeah, track 20 is what i was refering to. when i said rap, i meant rap the whole song.
