Where are you guys going on Vacation?

I believe I made a similar thread a year or two ago.

Anyway, just use this thread to talk about where you're going on vacation (or where you went on vacation).

I made this thread because this year I'm going to the Canary Islands and I'm freaking excited. I'm taking the plane on the 12th and coming back on the 24th.
The only bad thing is that I'm going with my sister and his boyfriend but hey, it's the Canary Islands! And once I get my feet there, I go my way and they go theirs.

So where are you guys going on vacation?

My vacation is mostly spent on my bed, sleeping the whole day long. I find it cool.

Im in Charlottesville, Virginia now, but tomorrow I'm leaving to drive to D.C. until Saturday. Since I leave near Seattle, this is my vacation. Earlier in July I went to St. Louis though

My vacation this summer was a week spent at home at the beginning of June, then it was straight back to college for summer courses and work. Gonna try to go to Southern California during the winter vacation though, started planning already.

I went to Thailand for three weeks at the beginning of May. Thailand wasn't as great due to the people killing the experience. Everywhere we went, the friendly people would try to scam us or somehow try to make money or a commission off of us. Every single person does it, and they won't leave us alone. It's ridiculous. The beaches are really nice, though.

i have not been on vacation(like actually left my house for a period of at least 1 night) for over 4-5 years. i take vacations from work i just never go anyway

Went to Russia for a month in June. Drank Beer, played soccer, what else, oh yeah showed off my bball skills and they flipped out, it was nothing special.

I could walk but I usually drive there with my wife (it's a big ass city), mostly to go see her family and get drunk while we're at it.

im going to Colorado on Friday (aug 10) and me and 5 buds are gonna hike and sight-see for 10 days until the 20th, before school starts back up on the 22nd. We're driving out there from Knoxville, TN, which will take us about 25 hrs or so...im psched!

January 2nd I'll be in Miami for two weeks though. One week to attend a wedding of my "sister" and the other to just relax.

I haven't left the country since last year summer...the funeral of my grandfather in Suriname. Not exactly a vacation though.

Now that you mention school, I just remembered I didn't do my Physics summer homework. And now I'm gonna have to do it in four days. That includes studying 8 Chapters of my Physics book.

I went to Toledo and Put-in-Bay last week. Put-in-Bay is always fun. I will be going to Cedar Point by summer's end also. Gotta love those rollercoasters.

joe, i'm jealous of you because you can go to vacation in Italy.

and France and any other countries close to you for that matter.

I went on vacation here in Italy twice in my whole life. The prices are insane.
I prefer to go to Spain. They have some lovely beaches in Catalunya and the prices aren't that high.

Anyway, why are you jealous? You live in freaking California, for Christ's sake! I'm the one that's jealous!

hmm I'd love to go to Spain too, Joe. i'd visit Madrid and Barcelona.

Yeah, Spain is great. I like Madrid as a city better because it reminds me of Buenos Aires (my hometown), and because people speak Castilian.

Barcelona, however, is on the coast, has beautiful beaches and great architecture. But it's a pain in the ass to find people who speak Castilian, and Catalan is pretty difficult to understand.

They're both great cities, I guess it's all about preferences. Anyway, Spain>>>Italy anytime.

Well I'm off for the weekend to the snow, either Falls Creek or Hotham. Get to use my new snowboard, boots and pants for the first time which I got for my 21st over a year ago. The snow season was so shit here last year that I never got a chance to use them at all, but now I can. Yay for me
