Anyway, not bad. Not too far from the wildcard spot either.
Wasn't there a rumor a few years ago about Oswalt, Ensberg, and Ausmus for Tejada? I saw that on ESPN. But I don't know how they allowed the guy to say it, cause that's a stupid trade. So yeah, almost no one is safe.

That would be a crime if he didn't make the all-star team.
Wells didn't make it. The people that did (Vlady, Bonds, Sosa) all had at least 26 HR and 73 RBI's, so it's not like the people who made it are worse than him. The computer makes ridiculous stats sometimes; this year Sosa is on pace for 68 HR, and the power-lacking Furcal (less than 60 against both sides) is on pace for 22, certainly not the number you'd expect for a 90-50, 70-50 guy.

Game Recap
The Rocket never did seem to take off in this game. The first pitch he throws to Furcal is hammered the other way for a lead-off double. Guerrero then hit a home run to give the NL the lead at 2-0. It didn't stop there. Four straight doubles by Bonds, Thome, Sosa, and Kent led to three more runs and the NL jumps to a 5-0 lead.
Johnson was pretty good in this start, but he might want to forget an at-bat against Soriano, who went yard off him in the bottom of the second. 5-1 NL.
In the fifth, Furcal hit into a fielder's choice and then subsequently stole a bag. Then it was Vlady's turn. He jumps right on top of a pitch from Kieth Foulke...
home run! Next batter: Bonds*. He connects off Foulke and it's 8-1 NL.
Rolen hits a solo in the sixth and Helton a solo in the eighth, both off Lance Carter. Manny could do nothing but walk back helplessly as Rolen's shot goes into the stands:
Grades
Pitching: A
Only one run, but I'm not gonna get Johnson to pitch a CG in the All-Star game, so it doesn't matter. Combined for 15 K's.
Batting: A+
Double digit runs, plenty of homers.
All-Star game MVP
Vladimir Guerrero: 2-4, 2 HR, 4 RBI, 2 R
