Best FIFA game ever?

Name says it all.

I'm calling either 99 or 2001. The trick stick didn't exist, you could perform hilarious dives which weren't easily abusable (I got a foul about 15% of the time), you could tackle off the ball which was awesome in no-rules practice and a various assortment of other things. I'm probably being biased, but 06 and 07 hasn't impressed me and 04 was really easy (scorchers from about the D).

It's a tough one to decide which is the best one, that's why I will make my decision after Fifa 08 is released.

I loved 2000, because I played it a lot. 2001 was pretty good also.

i actually had fifa 2000 on my PS1, and i loved it, back when games were simple

On another note, anyone got a good website for FIFA patches? Like, not official but the kind of stuff you get here?

I like 01 because you could always slide tackle the goalie for a nice red card.

My fav is 98 because of that fun 5x5 (I think) court option. My GK scored with his hand once. Plus in one game a player from the other team got the red card, then returned to the pitch in the second half as a substitute.

Old games are fun.

^^ You could do that in 02 too. I remember how many times I tackled Seaman and didn't get a red card for it. ( it was a demo,hence you didn't get a card ).Also scoring goals from center field was hilarious.

I did that in 99. I tried re-enacting the Zidane headbutt. I got a few players sent off by diving

There were so many things wrong with this game, but I loved it.
