I think 2k8 will be better than live 08 by far on next gen consoles that is, because 2k7 is already a great game, they just need to improve those lousy graphics and player faces, and they need to eliminate ice skating and it'll be a good game.

yeah i normally dont buy basketball games for anything other then my pc, but this year i might buy one for xbox 360. I havent seen anything on 2k8 and nba lives animations still look unreal.

Well, I didn't know about this until, but a few months back, I predicted these 2 would be cover boys, and sure enough...

Not a huge CP3 fan (I like Deron Williams better) but I'm really glad Shaq isn't on the cover again.

so tonight at 8 in NYC 2k will do some motion capture work. If you ask me they are starting this a little too late and it makes it seem like they haven't even started working on the game yet.

No way, 2k7 was worse than 2k6, the graphics in 2k6 were way better than the graphics in 2k7.

The gameplay was about the same in both games though (gameplay was monumentally better than live 06 or live 07 tho)

I also think 2k6 had better gameplay than 2k7, 2k7 was so raved about though because it's better than live 07, but in reality 2k7 isn't that spectactular because it has it's own bugs, cruddy graphics, ice skating, etc, etc.

I like these forums so much better than the 2k forums, because the 2k people are ignorant. They compared nhl 2k8 to EA nhl 08 graphics-wise, and they are both very close, but EA's player models are way better and clothing is much more detailed, and everything about EA's is slightly better - I'm not a fanboy or anything, but these people all said nhl 2k8 was 100x better than ea's which is far from the truth.

On the 2k forums, people are saying live 08 sucks before it's even released! They say 2k8 will be the best basketball game ever even though all they know about it is chris paul is on the cover and they're doing motion capture tonight outside at night :-p

We'll see which is better when the time comes, I'm not biased towards either one, but I have no idea what to compare live 08 to because 2k hasnt released anything yet, so I have to say live 08 looks sweet!

I'm going to rent both games for the ps3 though, and buy whichever one is better

Wow, I was expecting much better.

They don't look any different than 2k7 to me, they even look worse! 2k6 > 2k7 > 2k8, I think they're getting worse as time goes on.

the only faces you can clearly see are chris paul and baron davis, and both look pretty bad IMO.

the eyes look dead to me too, but they have a dunk contest this year.

I thought they were going to have the new engine as seen on nhl 2k8, but atleast live 08 will still have better graphics (live 08 looks like a real game until you look closely at it)

idk, 2k is in trouble this year I think, EA isn't going to slip 3 years in a row, and EA's game looks very promising with some nice new features and the AI looks smart this year, so we'll see.

All the people on the 2k forums are disappointed :-p, they are saying it's just a WIP and they will fix the graphics.

I don't think they are that bad. 2K gameplay is always reviewed as the best. And it looks like they finally implemented the all star weekend.

i don't think that the dunk contest is even gonna be at all star weekend..i think its probably in the 24-7 mode or something because if you look at the screen..there not in an NBA all sstar weekend arena

And the player faces look HORRIBLE IMO..baron davis looks like a cancer patient..but the bodies look good..but the game play will make up for it...

BUT i'm definately buying NBA LIVE FIRST before i get 2k8

The graphics look better than 2K7. The lighting effects are better done, there are less jaggies and the faces, while still odd are improved also. I'm also looking forward to the Slam Dunk Contest, and it will probably be better than EA's. (They will probably make it more grounded and allow you to use objects and teammates)

And the game will almost certainly beat EA's. I mean, even if Live rebuilds and makes the game somewhat playable, 2K will improve on their current game and build an even bigger lead. Then again, I may just be saying this because I tend to take what cheater1034 says and think the opposite.

but the dunk contest is more like a street dunk contest supposebly.

idk though, those graphics aren't doing it for me, on my HDTV it really does affect the game IMO.

NBA lives pics for SURE..look at Baron davis's face in the 2k pics..you have to be visually impaired to think that looks good..lol
