It's over! Spurs sweep Cavs. Spurs did a very good job all playoffs long, congrats to the Spurs!
Cleveland will be back next year hopefully.]

Preach it.
I didn't watch a single game in this series. I didn't even realize there was a game tonight until I went to nba.com by chance to find that the Spurs had won.
The playoffs were a waste of a good season. I feel as though I wasted far too much time watching the regular season games this year only to watch a boring, uneventful set of playoff games.
I enjoyed the Seinfeld reruns far more than I would have enjoyed the Spurs/Cavs games.

The best part of the finals for me was seeing Mike Finley finally win his ring. He deserved it.
I'm pretty sure the Cavs are the worst offensive team in the league. All they seem to do is give LeBron the ball and stand around. You can't expect LeBron, as talented as he is, to carry a team whose offence has no movement. It's impossible. He's playing 1 on 5 out there until he kicks it out to someone open after a drive or when he gets doubled.

I'm so thrilled my man TP got the MVP award.
Congrats SA

And then they miss the wide open shot.

congratulations to the 2006-07 champs san antonio spurs, and the finals mvp tony parker...

not if David Stern pulls a Tanya Harding and hires someone to bust TD's knee cap in.
I'd much prefer the Lakers be winning at to the Spurs. At least I would have INTEREST in the series
Fri Jun 15, 2007 2:22 pm
That's what Greg Anthony or someone said on ESPN after they won their 3rd one. Then Dallas did them in 7. The Spurs don't repeat...
Fri Jun 15, 2007 2:27 pm
I actually like watching the Spurs. I don't like them as a team, but I like watching them play. Just not against the most boring team in the league.
The Spurs may be 'boring', but they are so good. I like watching Tim Duncan destroy everyone on the block. I like watching Tony Parker zip all over the place. I don't like Ginobili at all, but the professionalism and excecution of this team is good to watch. However, the Cavs are like the opposite. They are just as "boring" as the Spurs, but they have nothing to really enjoy when you watch - they just stand around and watch a very frustrated LeBron James try to win it all on his own.
Fri Jun 15, 2007 2:27 pm
Greg Anthony
is a pussy who picks the Spurs to win every single year.

ixcuincle, thanks for the pic, i have made a sig:

This has to be one of the worst finals series in a long time, not entertaining at all! Cleveland are possibly one of the worst teams to ever make the finals.
Congrats to the Spurs on another championship...
Fri Jun 15, 2007 2:55 pm
man, FUCK The Spurs. the only good thing to come out of their win is Michael Finley getting a ring. and maybe Jacque Vaughn too.
Fri Jun 15, 2007 3:03 pm
i feel ya eric...congrats to Fin
Cavs just don't have enough experience, but they'll learn from this...
sidenote: I think the "reign" of dtown in the ECF has come to an end, and the East is now Bron and Wade's conference
Fri Jun 15, 2007 3:06 pm
They're only boring because they don't let the other team score for close, dramatic TV style games.
In terms of plays...that Ginobili play when the Cavs were making a comeback...he broke Damon Jones ankles and put him on his ass, cut right into Varejao then cut left and faked Andy out of the camera picture, then attacked the rim ending up in a beautiful layup over Marshall. 3 defenders, 1 layup, clutch timing.
If his number was 24 and his last name Bryant the media and most people would be wetting their panties.
But since it's a semi-balding Euro player, the exact same play is "boring".
Fri Jun 15, 2007 4:23 pm
The only thing that's made me happy about these playoffs is that Michael Finley finally gets his ring. Every Dallas fan owes him for helping rebuild the franchise from futility. Sure, Mark Cuban may not be so happy for him, but Finley deserves it.

Almost no one picked the Spurs to win because it was a boring choice to pick to win it all. I mean, every year for the past few years they've been contenders. It just isn't fair sometimes.
I'm happy that Bonner won a championship. He played a crucial role in giving high fives to his teammates.

Yeah, people have been giving him a lot of shit lately, but he still made some HUGE plays in these finals, especially that layup you mentioned, a couple of big 3s, and some critical FTs (even though he missed some too).

I don't really see what's "not fair" about a team that's consistently among the very best thanks to good management, great coaching and remarkable teamplay.
