hova- wrote:Marquis, thank you, well you have to see that Paul Pierce had an awesome season (I think 26.5 ppg) without any injuries. I think that would have been possible in real life with him playing like that. Bulls are unrealistic thats right. And Dallas :( just like in real life : :? :|

Yeah, that is painful :(

Well on dynasty, I like your picks. You had 2 good steals in the draft I think. Roy Hibbert will be a good backup for Kaman. Beli is also nice pick. I like him. I'm curious what offseason trades you will do.

YAY you got hibbert i love that guy and with him and Kaman at C you have a lot to look forward to in the future, great pick IMO. Also a great steal at 49 with Beli should bring even more shooting at G :D

Sat May 05, 2007 10:11 am

great off-season for you so far in my oppinion (Y)

Hibbert will develop into the champion i hope...

I really hope that we see a big off-season move by either your clippers or any other team in the NBA :)

Sun May 06, 2007 3:50 am

For some reason, I thought you'll get Marco, good job on the offseason, really lookin' forward to the start of the season...

Sun May 06, 2007 4:46 am

Man, how did I miss a dynasty by Hova? Great job on drafting Belinelli, he's one of my favourites in this years' draft. I have a feeling that he'll turn out to be a great steal since he somehow managed to slip to the second round.

Sun May 06, 2007 5:27 am

Haha , Lakers darfted brandon rush as his bro Kareem some years ago
I like that you drafted belineli hes a great italian shooter as about hibbert I dont know because i didnt see how he plays (Y) but I hope that they will help clippers by the way what is belineli's ovrl ?

Damn... Everyone gets Belinelli.. Nice draft coverage. Can't wait for the season. GO PAPERCLIPS!

Sun May 06, 2007 6:33 am

nice draft info....hopefully the players u get will provide some help on your next season.... (Y)

Sun May 06, 2007 6:40 am

Surprised to see Belinelli go so late. He usuallly goes in the middle of the first round..

Nice job picking him up.

Sun May 06, 2007 8:38 am

Marquis, thanks, but I have to disappoint you .. no big moves (I know I am boring :P)

3PK, glad you like it, I did not know anything about Hibbert but I checked out NBAdraft.net and noticed that he is 7-2 which is amazing.

Scoop, thanks, Iam also pleased with the draft. Sry that there were no blockbuster moves :(

Pursuer, thanks, I am also curious about playing with the Clipps.

Its_asdf, thank you ! Oh yes ... Belinelli in the second round was really shocking but in a positive way. I played a bit just to test him and his shot is awesome.

Xiphias, thanks, well Lakers GM aint too clever (we know that from real life :) ). Belinellis OVRL is 65.

Lamrock13, thank you. He is pretty well known nowadays because he played simply awesome in the WC especially against USA when I remember right.

WhoElseCouldItB, thanks, glad you like it.

-km-, well there was no question wether to pick him or anybody else. He was the only 2nd rounder I knew I think ;)

Thanks for all your comments, really really appreciated !

The summer of the year 2007 was NBA-wise maybe one of the most boring summers in the last ten years. General Managers seemed to be pretty confident in their rosters although some of them did not work out last season.
This resulted in many resignings this offseason especially of players who were handled as the hottest free agents on the market if they did not resign.
Vince Carter and the Nets made sure to sign a new contract for three years before any rumours were spreading about his future.
The Mavs resigned with their two superstars Jason Terry and Josh Howard. They also signed Nick Collison as a replacement for Austin Croshere who had not been resigned. The Phoenix Suns also kept their chances for a repeat alive by resigning two important factors Boris Diaw and Leandro Barbosa.
The two maybe most explosive moves were executed by the 76ers.
They were able to sign Alonzo Mourning who did not get a new contract from the Heat. And they signed one of the hottest free agents with Andres Nocioni. A lineup with Mourning, Nocioni, Carney, Igoudala and Miller. Sounds pretty good. The Heat tried to shake things up and also gave away James Posey whose contract had not been extended. Posey was signed by the Bulls, who also signed Francisco Elson and Ronny Turiaf to be the most active team on the market. Miami found a replacement in Travis Outlaw. The young gun and ex-Blazer signed a longer contract. They also resigned with Jason Kapono to keep some fire power without Posey and thus also signed with Eddie Jones. The Orlando Magic brought back the Kandiman. Michael Olowokandi got signed for a multiple year contract to boost the team on the center spot. The Kings signed Anderson Varejao for the same reason. The Durant-happy Hornets were also able to keep David West and Bobby Jackson. Everyone is hoping that Durant can help them into the playoffs.
If you are looking for any trades this was the wrong summer. Only three minor transactions. Kyle Lowry (MEM) and Johan Petro (SEA) changed teams as well as Antoine Wright (NJN) and Nikoloz Tskitishvilli (TOR). Also Alexander Johnson (ATL) and Rookie Ekene Ibewke changed uniforms. Take a look at the Top 10 signings and resignings below.

were also very shy this summer. Only Chris Kaman got a new 5 year (38M$) contract. Jason Hart had not been resigned but signed with the Bobcats later. Calvin Booth and James Singleton did also not get new contracts and are still free agents. GM Hov also said that he had no deal in mind so far and was very satisfied with the way his antecessor handled the contracts and that the priority is to make the current players better and to work on the game.
Take a look at the Clippers´ contract situation below.

Sixers made some nice signings..

Love the presentation. This is really nice..

Good luck with this!

Sun May 06, 2007 8:57 am

Well no big deals, but I expected it, knowing that you are realism freak

Phila got some nice contracts, Miami signing Outlaw looks also pretty good. I thought the rating of Hibbert will be a little bit higher, but it's OK. Looking forward for the games (Y)

Sun May 06, 2007 10:20 am

i thought it was overall a good off-season with a few big signings. Hibbert should really be better overall than he is! oh well.

cant wait for regular season. will there be a section for staff signing and training camp?

Sun May 06, 2007 1:50 pm

Sixers have really gave there team a bit of work nice to see u've not only included yourself but also you've included the goings of other teams, your side is looking gud and this should b great (Y) gud luck :D

Sun May 06, 2007 5:43 pm

The Sixers had some great signings...

Keep it up!!! (Y) (Y) (Y)

Sun May 06, 2007 7:37 pm

-km-, thank you for your comment. I give my best with the presentation, glad you like it ;)

Marquis, Aight, realism first. And I have to admit I changed on move made by the Suns and the Nuggets due dbf editing. Nash <-> Martin, just had to undo this one in my opinion.

Scoop, ye Hibbert has not the best overall, but my two assistant coaches will change that I hope. About the camp, question answered.

3PK, thank you ! I really try to inform you about the whole league. So you know why the Bulls have Turiaf, Elson and Posey and so on ...

looser, Ye Sixers may be the winners of the offseason. Their starting lineup is sick now. Thank you.

October, 21st-27th

The L.A. Clippers again visited Santa Barbara this year to hold their training camp´s final week before the start of the regular season 07/08.
General Manager and coach Chris Hov suprised with some creative ideas to help his team fighting their weaknesses. Hov invited NBA-legend and Top 50 NBA player Rick Barry, well known for his freethrow shooting. "I was really analysing the season of the Clippers last year under Mike Dunleavy and I noticed that the Clippers were the best free-throw shooting team during the regular season. But in Playoffs this changed rapidly. So I want to remind those guys of the importance of the free throw shooting.", Hov said. Barry also tried to convince the players of his underarm technique, often called "granny shot".
"I tried it, its really easy but I think I am not better with it and it just looks akward", Corey Maggette said.
Hov also made sure that his players had to work hard on their stamina and strength. But not only with hitting the gym. He also announced a superman-contest usually a thing for the younger players in the draft camps. A test in which a player has to dunk as long as he can stand on his feet. Suprisingly the winners were not Corey Maggette, Cut Mobley or Marco Belinelli. Elton Brand took home the crown with 64 dunks. "But I could barely say a word afterwards", he smiled. Hov was also very satisfied with his coaching staff. He did not change it since all his old buddies stayed in Atlanta after he left due personal reasons. So he decided to keep Mike Dunleavy´s staff and it is working out according to Antonio Alvarez, Troy Cortes, Tristan Bart, Tom Gray and Angel Romero.
But even more satisfied he was with Shaun Livingston. The younster who had a great breakout season last year managed to improve on almost every skill.
Take a look at the pictures of the training camp below.

Sun May 06, 2007 9:19 pm

hey hova, great to see you doing a new dynasty. I must admit, I didn't read too much of the Hawks dynasty, for the same reason as you - I didn't like the team! The Knciks was the best I've seen for a long while in the exception of Pursuer's, really looking forward to this Clippers dynasty - I'll be following it.
Keep up the good work! Love the training camp pictures.

Sun May 06, 2007 9:30 pm

Lovin the Dynasty so far hova- , good job with the draft and all but was Roy Hibbert really the best player available or was he just what you were looking for?

Cant belive the knicks passed on Kevin Durant
