Kobe Not Able To Play, Bulls Again Beat Shorthanded Lakers

    Lakers 109 | Bulls 117

With a loss to the Chicago Bulls without Kobe Bryant late last month, the Lakers looked ahead to their first game of December against those same Bulls, only this time expecting a win with their leader. Brynt instead didn't play and the Lkaers remained at the bottom of the Western Conference standings with a 117-109 loss. Bryant said before the game that he still had pain in his thumb and had problems handling and shooting the ball. He said he expects to be back within 2-3 games. The Bulls handled the game well, led by Kirk Hinrich and Ben Gordon. Gordon, the teams leading scorer came just 2 rebounds and 1 assist shy of a triple double with his 19 point, 8 rebound, 9 assist effort. Luol Deng added 18 points in the win and rarely used back up PF Mike Sweetney impressed with 10 points and 3 rebounds on a perfect 5-5 shooting night. The Bulls head home to face the reigning champion Miami Heat who look to get back into championship rythm.

Wade, Heat Beat Cold Shooting Bulls

    Heat 112 | Bulls 97

Dwyane Wade and Udonis Haslem dropped 25 and 26 respectively on the Chicago Bulls as they cruised to an easy victory. The Bulls got almost nothing out of anyone on the team bar Ben Gordon who chipped in with 25 and Luol Deng who had 15 in the loss. Mike Sweetney played 14 minutes and added 4 points and 8 rebounds as he looks to raise his minutes with solid play. For a stretch o about 5 minutes in the 3rd quarter, Sweetney took it right to All Star center Shaquille O'Neal, scoring on him with some nifty spins and grabbing big time offensive rebounds over the 7-2 center. The Bulls have now dropped to 7-6 on the season but still hold a relatively high seeding in the current standings. Chicago shot just 40% from the field in the lost, credited to Miami's tough and relentless defensive pressure and strong defence on Kirk Hinrich, forcing him to go just 5-20.

Arenas Delivers Once Again, Sinks Bulls In Final Moments

    Bulls 98 | Wizards 108

All Star point guard Gilbert Arenas - known for his crazy on and off the court antics and game breaking ability, scored the go ahead basket with just 40 seconds to go to sink the Bulls, stopping their run and forcing them to foul for the rest of the game to stop the clock. Arenas recieved the ball on the right wing, sprinted by Kirk Hinrich down the baseline and faced an imposing Ben Wallace. Arenas then jumped up and went right at Wallace. When he saw Wallace was about to block his shot, he pumped the ball down with his left hand, around Wallaces out strethed arm, and flicked it up towards the basket. It bounced around for a moment and dropped in. The Wizards took a 100-98 lead and after Ben Gordon couldn't tie it up at the other end, Chicago had to repeatdly foul to stop the clock, resulting in a 10 point win. Arenas finished with 32, while Ben Gordon finished with 21 and Thabo Sefolosha added 10 off the bench. Mike Sweetney continued his great play, finishing with 11 points and 8 rebounds on 5-8 shooting.

    Chicago Looking At Azubuike?

The Chicago Tribune reported this morning that the Chicago Bulls are highly interested in Golden State Warriors back up shooting guard/small forward Kelenna Azubuike. Azubuike has appeared in 9 games for the Warriors this season, averaging 2.6 points in those appearances. The player most likely to me involved in any sort of trade is Malik Allen, but Allens salary this season is 1.80M, while Azubuike is making just 413K on the season which means more players must be involved. Chicago seems to need another back up scorer off the bench at the swingmen positions, as Nocioni often plays PF and Thabo Sefolosha has yet to find much offensive rythm. Bulls GM John Paxson could not be reached for a comment on the situation and Head Coach Scott Skiles said he had not heard any details regarding the potential trade.

Yeah great dynasty ;) You made me reinstall my NBA Live 2005 and use the great patches made by this community. Live 2005 is the only Live where the lighting actually works for me (nevertheless I can't turn it on). And you almost conviced me to start a new dynasty story using Live 2005  :) (2005 I think was the only Live to play a full season 82 games without any intervention or simulation)

Thanks everyone once again. Just to let you guys know, if you see NBA Live 07 logo's on the stadiums in my screens, trust me, it isnt Live 07. Its just because I downloaded Jao's stadium update which updates 05 stadiums to 07's. I'm not pulling a pistons_rock here

Ah, two losses. But a nice win vs. the Lakers (Y)
...But it says that the Lakers won, 117-109. You might want to change that 8-)
Good luck in the next week!

    Bulls Make Trade For Azubuike

The Bulls completed the trade that will send Kelenna Azubuike from the Warriors to the Bulls today. Because of differences in salaries, the Bulls had to take the 2+ mil contract of Zarko Cabarkapa who was waived right after the trade. Chicago sent PG Andre Barrett, SG Viktor Khryapa and PF Malik Allen to the Warriors in exchange for Cabarkapa and Azubuike. Head coach Scott Skiles said that Azubuike will not suit up for the game against the San Antonio Spurs but will most likely see time in the game after and onwards. Azubuike is known as a skilled scorer that uses his large and chiseled frame to outmuscle opponents down low. He also has a terrific jumper with range extending out to the three point line and is known as an explosive dunker around the league. Kelenna said he would wear number 4 for the Bulls, since Ben Gordon wears his previous number - 7.

    Deng Struggles, Spurs beat Bulls

    Spurs 113 | Bulls 103

Luol Deng failed to get into any rythm offensively and help his teammates to a win Monday night at the United Center. Coach Scott Skiles has said Deng needs to step his game up if this team is to go anywhere. "Look. We have one of the best rosters on paper in the entire league, and we are 7-8 in a very weak Eastern Conference, with alot of losses at home" Skiles said. "We can't afford to sit around till March and then try step up and make a playoff run. By then it may be too late". Star shooting guard Ben Gordon finished with 23 points on just 7-27 shooting while Kirk Hinrich added 15 and Andres Nocioni chipped in with 13 off the bench. The Spurs were lead by Michael Finley's 35 points, destroying the Bulls defence with open jumpshots resulting from double teams on Tim Duncan. Duncan finished with 21 points to go along with 21 rebounds.

Bulls Bench Blows 10 point Lead Late, Gordon Misses Game-Winner In OT

    Cavaliers 113 | Bulls 112

LeBron James and Larry Hughes led a 4th quarter charge that left the Bulls bench players - insterted into the game in what many call "garbage time" - stunned as they saw a 10 point lead turn into a 2 point deficit at home against the Cavaliers. The Bulls, up comfortably late in the fourth, emptied their bench, expecting the same from Cleveland. Instead, the Cavs starters remained in the game and punished the Bulls scheme as they gained a 2 point lead with 12 seconds to go, after which Ben Gordon drove in a drew a foul and calmy sunk both freethrows to tie the game with 2.2 left on the clock. Larry Hughes couldn't answer at the buzzer and the game went to OT. In ovetime, LeBron James stepped up and nailed big shot after big shot, but it was Larry Hughes who nailed the game winning jumper with 29 seconds left. The Bull failed to score at their end, resulting in a foul marred final moments which resulted in a 1 point win for the Cavaliers.

Bulls Pull Out Home Win Behind Huge Fourth

    76ers 105 | Bulls 117

Ben Gordon and the Bulls ran away in the fourth after a tight first quarters against the Philadelphia 76ers at the United Center. Gordon finished with 28 points on 11-16 shooting as the Bulls came away with a 12 point win against the struggling 76ers. Marcus Haislip played big minutes and delivered with 10 points and 6 rebounds. Ben Wallace had one of his worst rebounding performances of his career with just 3. The Bulls got great production from their starting guards Gordon and Hinrich, but also from Chris Duhon, who head coach Scott Skiles has dubbed "the unsung hero". Duhon had 5 assists in just 19 minutes but also hit 2 shots at the strt of the fourth that sparked the Bulls run. Andre Iguodala led the 76ers with 24 points and Samuel Dalembert finished with a 20-10 game going head to head with all star Ben Wallace.

Timberwolves Sting Bulls, Win At The United Center

    Timberwolves 116 | Bulls 98

Chicago couldn't get anything from Ben Gordon and Kirk Hinrich Saturday night as they fell to the Minnesota Timberwolves bvy a score of 116-98. The Wolves dominated most of the third and start of th fourth quarters behind big performances from Mike James, Ricky Davis and Kevin Garnett. James finished with 30 points, scorching Bulls point guard Kirk Hinrich on multiple occasions. Hinrich was limited to just 13 points on 5-13 shooting while fellow starting guard Ben Gordon didn't even reach double figures, finishing with just 7 points. Luol Deng helped out with 22 of his own but in the end it was not enough. Rookie Tyrus Thomas was incrediblyimpressive, holding his own against Kevin Garnett and finishing with 15 points and 11 rebounds. The Bulls had a scare when Andres Nocioni went down with an ankle injury early in the third, but it appears to not have affected him as he returned in the 4th and looked comfortable. He will not miss any games.

 Azubuike is awesome in this game. I had to improve some of his ratings (mainly dunk) and decrease a few to get him to play right. He is like a spark plug, he can come in and knock down threes, get a big dunk or drive and finish in traffic. He's great.

Tuomas, yeah I don't see many losses in other dynasties. Hopefully I can pick this up, because its getting depressing

Thanks guys. Next weeks update will have one game without box scores because I simmed up to the next game and forgot to take screens of the box score before saving :x

    Dampier Blocks Sefolosha's Game Winner

    Mavericks 120 | Bulls 118

    [Box scores unavailable]

Another frustrating peformance for the Bulls ended in a loss. Chicago held a slim lead through most of the fourth quarter before Jason Terry began lighting it up from deep. Scott Skiles made a tough decision and insterted Thabo Sefolosha at the point guard position due to his length to stop Terry's run. Thabo didn't disappoint, playing terrific defence on Terry and forcing miss after miss. Sefolosha also played great on the offensive side of things as he finished with 18 points. However, Sefolosha couldn't get it done when it mattered most. Skiles said after the game that when his team went down 1 point with only 27 seconds remaining, he trusted to give Sefolosha the ball rather than sub on the teams captain - Hinrich, or make a play involving Gordon or Deng. He said he trusted Sefolosha with the shot after a terrific performance. Sefolosha waited till the clock ran right down, then made a quick move to the basket, splitting two defenders. He attempted an of balance layup as the shot clock expired but Eric Dampier came out of no where to block the shot. Jason Terry nailed 2 free throws shortly after to seal the victory.

Bulls Hold Off Grizz For First Win Of The Week

    Bulls 118 | Grizzlies 111

Chicago managed to hold off the Grizzlies after Mike Miller led the team to an extremely strong second half. Bulls rookie Thabo Sefolosha continued his impressive play off the bench, finishing with 14 points and 4 assists on 6-8 shooting. Recent addition Kelenna Azubuike helped hold off the charging Grizz as he knocked down big shot after big shot - one of them a deep three - that coincidently led to the end of the Grizzlies strong play. Rookie Rudy Gay impressed on the defensive end, hounding Ben Gordon with his great athleticism, size and length, blocking his shot on multiple occasions. Andres Nocioni played minimal minutes due to the great play of Sefolosha, especially late in the game covering at 3 different positions - PG, SG and SF. Tyrus Thomas reached double figures in scoring once again as he finished with 11 points in 20 minutes of action.

Redd Heats Up As Bucks Cruise To Win

    Bucks 119 | Bulls 114

Michael Redd scored 16 of his 35 points in the 4th quarter as he helped his Milwaukee Bucks hold off the Chicago Bulls at the United Center. Redd scored in an array of ways, inside and out as he took advantage of the much smaller Ben Gordon on the block. The bright spots for Chicago included the great play of Ben Gordon, Luol Deng and Thabo Sefolosha, who finished with 17 points, extended his recent scoring spree by one more game. As Sefolosha continus to impress, Nocioni continues to decline. Andres finished with 8 points and 7 rebounds - one of his best performances of recent games, but on just 4-10 shooting. He said after the game that he knows he needs to pick it up and will be involved in one on one training next week to work on his game. The Bulls looked like they may of had a win brewing until Redd played the hero and knocked down big shot after big shot to preserve the lead. Chicago falls to 9-12 on the season.

Bulls Beat Pacers, Azubuike Wows Crowd

    Pacers 112 | Bulls 119

Kelenna Azubuike wowed the crowd late Saturday night as his Chicago Bulls beat the Pacers in Chicago. Azubuike scored 13 points in 10 minutes in the fourth quarter. On one play he grabbed an outlet pass and took it to the hoop, finishing with a back breaking move in mid air, jamming it home hard as the crowd rose to their feet, some jumping in excitement. Head coach Scott Skiles said he was "amazed" by Azubuike's skill level. "I always had an eye on him, but I never had any idea he was this good, particularly offensively. He is a sparkplug for this team and he really gets the guys going with his heart" Skiles said of Azubuike, who was bought to the Bulls through a trade with the Warriors just over a week ago. Other strong performances from the Bulls came from Hinrich, Deng, Gordon and Wallace, but one performance that was note worthy was Thabo Sefolosha's 10 points off the bench. Sefolosha has been the most impressive Bull over the past week according to GM John Paxson. Chicago looks to reach .500 next week with games coming against Portland and Detroit.

Darius Miles Shocks Bulls With Amazing Game Winner In OT

    Trailblazers 129 | Bulls 128

Darius Miles hit an amazing game winning layup to sink the Bulls hopes of returning to .500 this week. Miles went baseline, rose up with his right hand, went up and under the rim, and instead of finishing on the other side with his left hand he somehow managed to flick the ball up and in with his right. Head Coach Nate McMillan said it was one of the most amazing shots he has ever seen as his team beat the struggling Bulls at the United Center. Miles finished with 21 points in the contest. The Bulls failed to get much production out of anyone except for rookie Tyrus Thomas, as he finished with 24 points and 12 rebounds on 10-12 shooting in his most dominating performance so far as an NBA pro since leaving LSU. Fellow rookie Thabo Sefolosha added 17 of his own, but in the end it was not enough. Sefolosha and Gordon were impressive late in the fourth keeping Portland at bay, but let downs on defence specifically from Andres Nocioni led the game to an extra frame. In overtime Miles answered Luol Deng and Tyrus Thomas' stellar play, wining the game on a fantastic shot.

Bulls Suffer Another Heart-Breaking Loss, Skiles "Disgusted"

    Bulls 113 | Pistons 116

Head coach of the Bulls Scott Skiles announed after the game he was "disgusted" at his teams performance over the recent weeks, citing his teams inability to finish games in the fourth as the main problem. "We just can't stamp out other teams late. Thats why we are losing so many close games. We would be over .500 if it wasn't for this problem, but we have no excuses. Its our fault as a team" Skiles said at the press conference. The Bulls allowed 15 straight points from Detroit to start the third quarter, and trailed by a relatively large margin heading into the final quarter. Ben Gordon began heating up, not just finishing plays, but making plays happen. He, Deng and Hinrich teamed up to spark a huge comeback. However, they fell short. With the scored tied and the Pistons with possesion, Tayshaun Prince knocked down a deep 3 as the shot clock expired to put the Pistons up 3 with just over 2 seconds remaining. Skiles elected to go with Gordon on the final shot, a 3 that barely rimmed out over the out stretched arm of Rasheed Wallace. The Bulls drop to 10-14 on the season, far lower than what was expected of them.
