nice dynasty, sum pretty shifty bench warmers on ur side, you made some decent trades but i think u were thinking about your starters more than your bench..... bench can be a huge factor... just wondering if they are efficient off the bench

Tue Apr 17, 2007 11:51 pm

3PK, hehe... I wasn't going to quit man, I'm only going to have to delay this for a few days because of the classes. I am going to continue this, and hope to play and post each and every one of the remaining 79 games in this Dynasty :D . Thanks for the support!

.Dee., hehe, with 79 games left, I don't think I can go without a loss, but I really want to be able to do something like what the Mavs have done now. oh yeah, love the graphics on your Capitols Dynasty :D

JJ_Weir, True, but IMO, when it comes to the bench, It's all about playing style. first two games of the season, there has always been a step-up guy (D.J., then Lopez) and since it's still the first season, CPU generated rookies haven't been dominating the world yet, so 60+ guys still have jobs here :D

I already finished the Boston vs Washington game which is going to be the last update until tuesday morning, it will be posted tinight or tommorow night, then I will w8 until the said classes are over (my parents had to pay 4k pesos for this one week which is about 80$ so i can't waste this or do something like sneak away from class  )

Arena's Celtics beat Pierce's Wizards 94-78

Image

This is the first game that Arenas and Pierce face their old teams, and both made the most of this game which people said was going to determine which side got the better of the trade. Pierce had 32 points, 3 steals, 2 assists and 4 rebounds, but Arenas who got a standing ovation from the Washington fans had another MVP performance, and made another early solid bid for DPOY with 29 points, 5 rebounds, 6 assists and 8 steals. but when Arenas was out due to foul trouble, Gasol made sure that Arenas was not at all missed as he banged his way inside for 16 of his 20 points starting 2nd Quarter when Arenas made his exit. Jackson reminded people that the Celtics bench was always ready to help with an 11-5-4 line of the bench. the same could not be said about the Washington bench as only Antonio Daniels who was also on the recieving end of some harrasment from Arenas. Also, former Wizard Etan Thomas, although not making big contributions statistically, harassed the Washington frontcourt on the defensive side, not allowing them to take shots as neither of the two reached double figures. Thomas also took some late game charges, turning the momentum of the game, starting the late-game surge. This was the third time that an all-star had a 30-point performance wasted against Boston.

CATS SHOT DOWN BY CELTICS 96-82

Image

Yet again, another 30 pointer wasted against Boston. Thi time, possible future All-star Raymond Felton scored 33, but his teammates couldn't follow. Early game, The Bobcats seemt to be the ones that were going to stop the rampaging Celtics, answering every run that the celtics had , even at one point ovetaking them. things went from bad to worse when Gilbert Arenas left the game with 4 fouls in the 3rd Quarter while Gasol, and again Granger struggled. But as Szczerbiak left the game to rest after giving his all halfway in the 3rd, Jackson rocketed off. He went 4 for 4 in the last minutes of the 3rd Quarter, doing a little Lopez and more. He continued the hot streak with 2 straight and later going for another two straight ending an 8-0 run by the Bobcats, and giving new life to the Celtics. Arenas later fouled out in the game, but had a near trip-doub, lacking only 1 steal to complete it. Adam Morrison was the first man to get 20 points as a secondary scorer against the Celtics. benches continue to be non-factors against the Celtics.

a lot of steals in 07

Wed Apr 18, 2007 9:10 pm

3PK, I see, and you've must have done well, you got me a few more readers. Thanks, and I do hope to keep in form

JJ_Weir, That may have something to do with my playing only in all-star because when I play superstar, I get very pissed by the referees  .

Wed Apr 18, 2007 9:17 pm

Great Game by Gilbert just 1 steal short of a triple-double Billups keeps doing that in ym dynasty lol  Also a nice win

Fri Apr 20, 2007 9:13 pm

wow, i just read through all of that and it was really interesting. u are undefeated?? i think?

anyway this is really good and i love that you got Agent 0 to the celtics. he is one of my favourite players. Some great transactions (Y) although, for the PG tryout, i would've taken penny hardaway, but only cos i think he is cool lol

anyway looking forward to more updates, and u now have another follower :D

Sat Apr 21, 2007 11:20 am

3PK, thanks, 2 bad you lost to the suns :(

Scoop, I thought of Penny Hardaway, he's just as good IMO as the other 2, but when you factor in age....

I've decieded to sim half of each game, so that it won't always be Gilbert beating the crap out of every PG, and more realistic results. And I'm also going to do that so there will be updates for the next 3 days with the classes as well.

later there will be up to maybe 4 games posted

Sat Apr 21, 2007 11:23 am

kool. looking forward to it all (Y)

and i agree with you about penny's age, he is too old so lopez was probably the right choice. AGENT 0 FOR MVP!!! :D

CELTICS BREAK SLUMP TO BEAT JAZZ

Image

After going off to a 20 point lead after the half, a cold spell hit Boston. even with Mehmet Okur, out with 5 fouls in the 3rd, Utah kept in pace with Boston as Andre Kirilenko started playing like the All-star he was meant to be with 8 points in the 3rd, and Fisher started playing like he was 20 all over again with 3 3-pointers, as Utah quickly the lead to 7 after the 3rd Quarter, where Wally Szczerbiak was the only Celtic who did not struggle during that Quarter and broke a cold spell of his own during the first half. Boston and Utah played shot for shot at the beggining of the 4th, but that was quickly shortened when Arenas after going 0-5 during the 3rd Quarter, awakened with 2 steals midway. and when Arenas awakened, Szczerbiak reached another level, hitting both of his threes in the last Quarter, and driving to the hoop for a pair of dunks. Utah tried to answer but rookie Eric Gomez controlled the paint, erasing and changing shots in that last Quarter, even though he was scoreless in the game. due to this loss, Utah drops to 1-5. (note: 5 of Arenas' steals were from the sim XD, he really does steal well now)

CELTICS OUTDUEL CAVALIERS

Image

It was a close game, as even when Gilbert Arenas broke his shooting slump to get a 6 point lead for the Celts, Larry Hughes answered, as if he was the leader of the team. When the Celtics broke off with a 6-point lead after the 3rd, it seemt as if the game was done for the Cavaliers have not done anything to break away or get any runs the whole game. It went shot for shot midwway until Lebron James set up Damon Jones for a beautiful 3 from the corner. Then Zydrunas Ilgauskas scored 4 straight points in the paint to put the cavs up by one. In the last minute, Gilbert Arenas again pulled away to a 4 point lead but, the Ilguskas countered again with 4 straight points. It seemt that the game would have had to go to Overtime when James stole the ball wih 18.9 seconds left and scored a long two to tie the game at 89. But Gilbert Arenas decided to end the game by splitting Ilgauskas and Marshall with a crossover followed by a stepback to score the long two. The Celtics remain the only undefeated team at 6-0

MAGIC OUTSHOT 100-105

Jameer Nelson had it all in his hands. They were only down by 2, he was under the basket, and shooter Pat Garitty was at the top without a defender. there was plenty of time to tie or win the game with 10 seconds on the clock. The only thing he needed to do was pass the ball to Garitty, and that it was going to go in to the basket. But he threw it away. Gilbert Arenas forced a bad pass which sent the ball out of bounds, ending the game. It was neck and neck after every Quarter as they were tied after each one. It was the kind of game that needed the stars to become superstars. Orlando had Howard, Boston had Gasol. But what did Orlando have against Arenas? Nothing. Nelson and Dooling both played nicely, but when it came to crunch time they were nothing to Arenas. Starting from the beginning of the 4th, Everybody in the building felt that Arenas was going to take over. and he did. after not even being close to his season average of steals, he made 2 straight and separated the two teams for the first time in the game. Howard answered, but who in the backcourt did he have to go against Arenas. Nelson had been harassed the whole game as Arenas scored at will against him, as he did against Keyon Dooling as well. Brandon Roy may become Rookie of the year, but the status rookie was his undoing as his inexperience showed when he tried to go head-to-head with Arenas in a scoring battle late game and miserably failed. so who did Howard have to rely on? It didn't matter. The way it looked, even an 8-footer couldn't have done anything against Arenas in the last quarter as he scored 19 of his 34 in the 4th. Gasol supported him nicely with 19 points and 8 rebounds, and Granger rebounded especially well in the last Quarter ending up with a doub-doub. Dwight Howard continues to struggle to score but continues to rebound very well.

Boston Celtics - Continue streak against Pacers

CELTICS CONTINUE STREAK AGAINST PACERS

Image

The Celtics found themselves in a situation similar to the last game, only difference was that there was a lot more time on the clock with 30 secs in the end. Tinsley in the middle, cornered. Jackson at the top free, down by 2. And he threw it away. Gilbert Arenas then caught a pass and made a turnaround 3 to finish the game. The Pacers tried to stop the clock by fouling, but to no avail. It was a close game all the way, 48-51 at the half, with no team able to separate from the other. but again, it when it came to late game, the Pacers had no answer. Gilbert Arenas made 2 late steals and assists to Dermarr Johnson who ran behind him each time to make two long jumpers. The Pacers rallied to take the lead, but Pau Gasol and Danny Granger both made blocks in those crucial moments to take the lead by 2 and lead them into the situation above. Johnson continues to be the bench player that the Celtics envisioned when they signed him with 12 points and 6 rebounds.
