I liked what I saw tonight against the Jazz.
First the bad:
Bibby played like crap for the short time he was on and but I'm glad mussel pulled him out.
Artest hit the boards but someone needs to corral him on his shot selection... it just plain sucks.
Sorry Artest, you aren't lucky like Kobe is.
Now the good:
Miller played 5 minutes.
Williams played 28 minutes, went 5-6 for 10 points, had 8 boards, and 3 blocks.
Ronnie Price stepped up with 13 pts, 5 boards, 3 assists, and 2 steals.
Kevin Martin was consistent (he needs to work on that, but its not all his fault. Mussel needs to leave him in there even when he is struggling. He is young, not like Bibby or Miller who should be yanked when they aren't trying).
Anyway... Lookin good.
The kings, imho, should try to loose games to get a better draft spot... since they will get raped in the playoffs if they make it...
Fire mussel, bring in a coach who can control the players.
Trade Miller, tell Bibby he is next if he doesn't start producing, and tell Artest he will be leaving too if he doesn't stop jacking up terrible shots.
Maybe even run a triangle offense through Martin... That would be quite interesting.

Which is why they need to completely blow the team up. Trade away Miller, Bibby, and Artest for a bunch of draft picks and younger players, and work from the ground up. It's a situation like the Sixers were in for so many years. They drug out the reubuiling process so much longer than they needed to by not getting rid of AI and Webber. They stand at 31 wins now... It's not like they stand to lose much.

But Adelman doesn't develop young players...and since the Kings are rebuilding...
Miller's shot has just disappeared. He's playing just as well as he was last season except he's shooting 49% instead of 58%. If he kept pace with the last two years, they would've been in the playoffs.
Justin Williams is someone to definately look at, if he could ever hit a free throw.
The frontcourt sucked this year and the backcourt only does one thing: score.
I don't see how they can rebuild through trades, nobody would want any of their contracts. (Though I assume someone will take a chance on Artest. Though I can't figure out who that would be.)

Bibby: $13.5m
Garcia: $1.2m
Total: $33.0m
Paul: $3.6m
Chandler: $10.1m
Jackson: $5.7m
Total: $19.4m
(19.4*1.15) + .15 = 22.46
22.46 != 33.0
You can't make that trade. (And even if you could, it would only save you $13.6 million, which you would lose half of when you gave Paul a maximum contract.)

An active big man surrounded by three point bombers, and in '95 with an all-star calibur wing man.

The Pistons were a deeeep team. They went nine deep, and so they were able to overcome top heavy clubs. The 2004 Pistons were the same way. Not because of some "team chemistry" thing. The 2004 Pistons won because they were the better team, not because of chemistry.
Well, Wallace had a couple DPOY trophies. And "hype" from the mainstream media doesn't mean "reality" or anything. Just because nobody in the MSM was paying attention to Billups developing into a superstar, doesn't mean he wasn't.
