Wait...We're talking about NBA Live 07 right?

This game IMO is a joke in terms of trades.
Right now my roster in 2010 looks like this:
Yao-91, Amare- 96, Bosh- 92, Aldridge-80, Tyrus- 83, Prince-83, Iggy- 89, Kobe-95, Paul-92, Arenas-93, Rookie PG-84, Rookie PF-81, AK47-90.
Sure, I have to pay like 140 mill/year, but I can simulate and win just about anything.

The CPU is a sucker for quantity. For example, this is the trades that I can remember doing over the last few years....

Odom+Turiaf- Bosh
Okafor, Al Jefferson, Foye- Stoudemire
Radmanovic, Shammond, Bynum- Billups
Billups, Battier, McKie- Arenas

You can sign 3 minimum players, then trade them for Granger...

To get draft picks, the optimal teams to get picks is a team that has caproom+open spots. Then you should be able to trade a decent player (say around 70ish) for their 1st rounder straight up.

if they don't, the old quanittiy tricks works too.
Oh yeah I forgot to mention draft pick trades should be done in the month to a month and a half before the deadline.
Like for example....
LaFraenz (5 mil/year) , Frye (9 mil/year) and a minimum player was enough to get Houston's pick in the 2009 draft (6th very strong draft) and Yao.

ei, why don't you make a more realistic one and quit trading and trading

Sat Apr 07, 2007 8:41 pm

can't wait for when his palyer's contracts are up. Imagine deciding between Kobe, Arenas, and Amare Stoudmire. Oof!

Mon Apr 09, 2007 2:30 am

wow, thats impossible!
the best team i had without cheating or anything was
pg-gilbert arenas 91
sg-caron butler 82
sf-cant remember who but someone that was like 77
pf-bosh 92
c-camby 79
and a bunch of other talents..
i won 2 straight championships with arenas being mvp

nice guide btw :!:

can we start a campaign to sticky this?

Tue Apr 10, 2007 5:20 pm

We're not really big on sticky campaigns (if you do feel a thread should be stickied you can always post in the moderator requests thread in NLSC Issues), but I think this one would be benefit from being stickied, so I'll go ahead and do that. :)

Sun Sep 16, 2007 1:42 am

Help,Clapton!!!I wanna trade for a draft pick,but I can't.I am playing with the Mavericks,standard NBA Live 07 rosters.I wanna trade Jerry Stackhouse,because he's 32.February,5 days before the NBA deadline.Worse teams are:Jazz,Pacers,Celtics,Bobcats,Grizzlies...

P.S. If you find a good deal,It shouldn't be only Stackhouse, but any oldie on the team.
THANK YOU!!! :o

Firts of all this game is arcade. I mean you can do whatever you want in terms of trading players. Here is my Lakers dynesty roster (it's 14 games into my first season):
C S.O'Neal 89 (I could get Amare but it's Lakers 00-03 nostalgia)
PF D.Howard 83
SF L.James 97
SG K.Bryant 97
PG D.Wade 93
SF A.Thornton 84 (have no idea who's that)
PF E.Okafor 78
SG K.Martin 77
PG T.Kinsey 73
SF I.Newble 63
Team chemistry is no good at all, but with this kind of roster... who cares?!
AI has the brain of... there is no brain at all, you just keep on signing minimun contracts and trading quantity for quality!

Fri Nov 16, 2007 9:33 pm

Congratulations, thats quite a team.

Oh, and have fun during the re-signing period.

Fri Nov 16, 2007 10:12 pm

There was no fun at all - I simulated to the next season and... everyone was re-signed! Now I have +$50 something mln cap. I told you - it is arcade!

hello people. i am trying to trade in my nba live 08 but i cant because i havent got salary cap space. i have read this tutorial but . i really dont know how i can view how much cost the player i want to trade. in the nba live 07 i used to saw how much costs the player i wanted to trade and i tryed to put in the trade list players with almost the same salary

so .. how can i view the salary of the player i want to trade? in nba 08?

Trades can get you to biiiiig places. Check out my 2012-2013 Magic.

C- D. Howard (99)
PF- C. Bosh (90)
SF- J. Smith (96)
SG- C. Anthony (93)
PG- G. Arenas (91)

And my "alumni" (players who used to be in my team but were traded) include:
Kevin Martin, K. Bryant, D. Nowitzki, M. Barnes, Sean Williams, C. Paul, D. Wade, R. Lewis, and a lot more.

Oh yeah, no DBF editing was done. :D
