Most "entertaining" team to watch

Tue Apr 10, 2007 11:37 am

Yes, I know that it's a bit hard with the limited footage of teams in earlier eras, but in your opinion, what team over all of NBA history, was the most entertaining one to watch, e.g. the Showtime Lakers, Run TMC (Golden State), Orlando during Shaq and Penny Era...

Tue Apr 10, 2007 12:36 pm

Showtime Lakers I think would be incredible to watch. The current Phoenix Suns and the Shaq/Penny team receive honorable mention.

'95 Sonics!

Shawn Kemp, best dunker in history!
Gary Payton, clinically insane!
Detlef Shrempf, the most uncoordinated player to make an all-star game.
Sam Perkins, smoooooth.

Objectively speaking I'd have to say the Showtime Lakers, though my personal choice would be the Bulls teams of the 90s.

Tue Apr 10, 2007 7:54 pm

Houston Rockets and their back-to-back champion teams. Watching the Hakeem Olajuwon and Clyde Drexler never gets old.

Tue Apr 10, 2007 9:01 pm

I would have to say the Jordan-Pippen Era Bulls. Though i would also love to see the Rockets with hakeem Olajuwon play.

Tue Apr 10, 2007 9:07 pm

MJ, Pip playing and Rodman husteling was the best thing I have seen, although I have to admit I know the showtime Lakers only from some old clips, but dont know that much bout them.

Bulls 96-98
Orlando Magic 96
Run TMC
GSW 07
Detroit 04 => might be the only one in this boat
Houston 94-97
Phx during KJ & Barkley

Nope, I pretty much stopped paying attention to the NBA when MJ retired and the Bulls headed into oblivion, but got right back into it when I saw those Pistons play.

Tue Apr 10, 2007 11:39 pm

I'd add the Sacramento Kings with pre-injury Webber.

Wed Apr 11, 2007 2:20 am

yeah they were fun to watch too...

actually let me add the 00 Blazers...espeically when they matched up with the Lakers.

Wed Apr 11, 2007 7:45 am

Maybe I'm biased, but I had a lot of fun watching the '00-'01 Raptors. Not only was Vince Carter tearing the league a new one, I also loved watching tough guys like Jerome Williams, Charles Oakley and Antonio Davis. Keon Clark was also pretty exciting to watch and it was fun watching Morris Peterson and Alvin Williams get better as the season progressed into the playoffs.

Wed Apr 11, 2007 8:58 am

Yep, your biased. But I am too. I'd probably go with some of the mid-to-late 90s Jazz teams.

Was that a joke?

In no specific order:
Mavs' big three of Dirk, Nash, and Finley
Late 90's Pacers. Seeing Reggie shoot a fastbreak three pointer was just sweet.
Bulls of MJ, Pip, and Rodman
Heat with Zo, Tim Hardaway, Mashburn, and PJ Brown
AI's 76ers with Larry Brown

Wed Apr 11, 2007 12:20 pm

the Showtime Lakers
the 2000 Lakers
the current Suns
the Mavericks
the Kobe Show

I haven't watched the NBA long enough to pick a lot of these, but I thought the Sac Kings at their best with Bibby, Peja, C-Webb, Vlade, Christie, and Bobby Jackson and Hedo coming off the bench was a really exciting team to watch.

Anyone think they're one of the best teams not to win a championship? Obviously the Jazz rank up there too.

Wed Apr 11, 2007 2:48 pm

^^One of the best teams to never even make the finals.

I enjoyed watching San Antonio during the lockout year. They were about the only watchable team that season.

Aside from that, obviously i like the dynastic Bulls. And Orlando's brief Shaq/Penny combination was also fun to watch.

Nowadays, the only games i can sit through without getting bored are Bulls' games, Spurs games and Mavericks games. Teams who are capable of playing and winning at different levels of the games.

Forgot to mention, I think this years Golden State Warriors team is really exciting to watch too. They rank right up there with the Suns for entertainment value.

My Opinion:

-Showtime Lakers
-Current Suns (I'm not exactly a fan, but you can help but enjoy the style of basketball that they play
-the big 3's of dallas (finley/nash/nowitzki, and personal choice the 3 J's)
-another personal choice, current knicks (gotta love the beaters)
-the kings the year that horry shot the beater on them (not sure about the year :? )
can't think of many others.... :(

Knicks during the 70s glory years
'76-'77 TrailBlazers
'78-'79 Sonics
80s Lakers
'82-'83 Sixers
Bad Boy Pistons
'99 Knicks
current Spurs, Pistons & Mavs

I concur, although I also like the Idaho Stampede's style.

Suns for me because of their high flying offensive power :)
