I don't think there's an actual number b/c it's such a serious injury. It could be anywhere from 4 to 8+ months depending on how it heals. Whatever it is, he's done for the season and possibly the beginning of next season ... and he definitely won't play for Spain this summer like he hoped.

Sucks about Garbo, but the Raptors really have a deep roster. Is it time for Bargnani to get a full-time starting role? Oh wait... he is out too. Shit. Great win over Miami, but who backs up Bosh? Sow? Humphries? Who is left?

Fri Mar 30, 2007 4:53 am

Ive read reports that Garbo refused anesthetics b/c he wanted to be awake during the surgery  Apparently they only gave him spinal anesthetics so he didnt go into shock.

This guy really is the anti-VC

You can plainly say that you hate Vince, you don't have to talk crap just to try to make your case...

? How is saying "I hate Vince" any better?

His main point was that Garbajosa was tough enough to watch his leg being surgically repaired. He added a side note that Garbajosa has more balls than Vince because Vince is known as Wince. They also share the same jersey number and Vince used to play for Toronto. Do you see the references now?

Toronto's win tonight was bullshit......Michael Ruffin with a dumbass play and Mo Pete with a bullshit contested 3-pointer. Pure comedy.

They still won and thats all that matters. A wins a win and you go from here

Sat Mar 31, 2007 3:10 pm

WOW...thats all I can say almost, for that last play in regulation. I just saw a replay of that shot, WOW. That was Mo Pete's only shot the whole game, he played like 55 seconds the whole game, and that he saves the game with an absolutely ridiculous play. DAMN

Sat Mar 31, 2007 5:38 pm

 I just saw the highlights. Unbelievable improbable play! That was awesome

Sat Mar 31, 2007 5:40 pm

was it ruffin that threw the ball up??..he mustve felt pretty stupid..lol

Sat Mar 31, 2007 5:44 pm

^ Well, according to Eddie Jordan, Ruffin threw it up because he didn't want the Raptors to foul him to send him to the line and regain possession afterwards so he thought the clock would run out if he threw it up.

Sat Mar 31, 2007 5:48 pm

I was watching that game. when the raptors threw it to the other end, i had a feeling that it would get tipped. when Ruffin got to the ball, i thought the Raptors would foul too. But they didn't have any timeouts and there was like 1 second left so even if Ruffin missed, the Raps wouldn't have had enough time to score. not a smart play for someone who aspired to be a doctor or something ridiculous like that.

He threw the ball up and when Mo Pete put it in I just laughed.

Sun Apr 01, 2007 1:40 am

Pure awesomeness. And pure Mo Pete.

You Raptors fans just make me sick.. It's very obvious that you hate Vince, other than the same jersey number and history of playing in Toronto all the other stuff you both said are clearly your lame opinions, which don't have a reasonable basis at all..

And yes, it would have been better if you have written "I have Vince" instead of writing all of this nonsense.

I wish the Raptors will move out of Toronto, because you guys don't deserve to have this great team playing there.

Im not going to get into a pissing match with you about this but it isnt worth my time.

1) I've clearly and openly laid out my distaste for VC in past. Don't try accusing me of backhanded slaps at him. If I have something to say about him, I'll say it

2) VC played and acted like a pussy when he was here, thats a fact.

3) Garbo is playing like a warrior.

4) They are opposite players right from style of play to attitude.

not quite....Garbo is still another soft foreigner.

Sun Apr 01, 2007 4:15 am

Garbo is a great player (and I say this because I actually know him from the Euroleague) but he is not in Vince's level that's for sure..

You make it sound like Vince played like shit the whole time he was in Toronto, but in fact he played all his seasons maybe but his last one in the highest level a player can play ball.

I won't tell you which players to like or dislike but at least when you write something try to make reasonable cases instead of just trashing a player without contact to the topic.

Sun Apr 01, 2007 11:06 am

lol, you make it sound like not playing your hardest for your team is ok.........just as long as you have tried in other seasons.

Sun Apr 01, 2007 11:09 am

Raptor fans can hate Vince all they want. The fact remains, without Carter, the Raptors would not be in toronto right now.

That I dont agree with. I mean the Raps still averaged 15 000 a night for the last 4 seasons, the first few years and during those string of seasons we were horrible. But I see your case

When did I EVER compare their playing ability. Ive said attitude, playing style, look, etc. are opposites. I never once said VC was or is a bad player nor did I ever say Garbo is as good as VC. Im sorry if you don't agree with me but thats your problem. I clearly made my points, expanded on them and moved on. If you have a problem with me pm me, there is no need to try and cause a scene like your doing

Sun Apr 01, 2007 1:36 pm

It's not that Carter was a bad player, he was and is a great player, it's that he whined and went down too easy with injuries. He still does it too, it happened in one of NJ's recent games.

No offense, but you're overreacting. All Raps13 did was make a little joke about Garbo's toughness vs. Vince's, because Toronto fans know that they share the same jersey number, but have different playing attitudes. It was a reference, and it was on topic. It'd be off-topic if he went off on a tangent and said, "I hate Vince," which I still don't understand why you'd rather see.

Matthew wrote:Raptor fans can hate Vince all they want. The fact remains, without Carter, the Raptors would not be in toronto right now.

Based on what? How do you know if Toronto never had Carter, they'd be somewhere else? Are you psychic? And what's up with you always bashing Canadians over the years? Maybe you should take your vendetta elsewhere.

So what if he goes down with injuries? that only means that he is giving his best while playing and becasue of his high-flying style of play, I don't see you saying that T-Mac/Yao/others are going "too easy" with injuries too.

cyanide, I don't think that someone here has a vendetta against Canadians, it's just that most Raptors fans are ungrateful towards Vince after all the time he played for the team and after he decided (like many other players in NBA history..) that he wants to be in a winning team.
