Trailer for the game (which is released in October) is tonight. About 5 hours to go, I'm looking forward to it. I hope it is something worth watching and not a major let-down.

The official trailer for Grand Theft Auto IV is only a few days away as of this writing, and publisher Rockstar has promised that it won't just be some infuriatingly quick teaser. Instead, it'll offer up the first substantial look into what the game is all about, and internet speculation over what that might be has kicked the rumor mill into high gear.

then i went to gametrailers.com and they had it on their front page, clicked on it, and then they crashed. (too many users click reload)

Sigh... this sucks.. I can't see the trailer anywhere. Youtube has duds, IGN plays only half of it, and the main character is supposed to be Russian and connected with the Russian mafia. From what I've seen, this GTA looks damn awesome, I seriously cannot wait... too bad it's not coming out for the PC... and it would've been nice to have a setting that's not done before. (Liberty City/NYC) Rockstar licensed Bogata and Tokyo, so we might see Cartel and Yakuza branch offs in the future.

Oh and it is Liberty City for sure, it says it on signs, back of the barge and i think a police car says LCPD.

Well that was a disappointing trailer. Apparently Rockstar doesn't believe in making their facial textures look as good as their scenery .

with all of the things going on in the surroundings, facial textures is really the least of my worries, especially when playing a 3rd person game where you see the back of the character most of the time.

He was just that excited.

looks pretty damn good. they did a good job making a 30 sec trailer, but the big question is how does it play?

I've merged the trailer thread into this one in case anyone was wondering.

The facial textures weren't that impressive but the detail on the scenery and vehicles looks awesome. Hopefully the game is more than eye candy though, retaining the features that have made the game so great beginning with GTA3. The first two games had their charm but the franchise has improved out of sight since the third instalment.

I think it's Liberty. There's a Liberty Tree building in the trailer, although it might just be one of those one-mission things like SA.

It is officially Liberty City we saw, look at the back of the barge, and there are a couple other Liberty City names around too.

I wouldn't trust that site, and I don't think we'll see a PC version for at least 8 months after the initial release. (seems to be the norm)

Looks like the billboards are still going to be pretty witty, "I slept with your mom" and "America's next top Hooker"

Now it looks like I double-posted!

This is going to take so long to come out that it would be exhausting to get hyped up about it now. I think I'll play through San Andreas again perhaps.

I've gone back to Saint's Row for another play through, just got done playing GTA3 for like the 10th time.

I'm sure it was helluva better place to clear his head than his home country. At least in Liberty City he starts from a clean slate and has a choice. Needless to say for GTA's story, he'll get involved with the underworld of gangs and spawn his criminal career.

So this is present-day Liberty City, right? Wonder which of the old characters will show up - Claude, Joey Leone, Tony Cipriani, Donald Love, Phil Cassidy(assuming he still has his gun store).

Dammit i dont wanna play as no russian. Now i know how white people felt when the last one was featuring thugs in the hood.
