Sorry...
but..can someone tell me if the Raptors will certainly make the playoffs???
Tue Mar 20, 2007 1:48 am
Almost impossible not to make the playoffs for the Raps.
They would have to lose almost every game til the end of the season and up with a worse record than New York or Orlando. Raps are 36-31, NY is 30-36. Both teams are 50/50 in their last 10, so neither are streaking either good or bad.
It would require a season ending injury to Bosh IMO, and if that happens they probably don't have any chance in the playoffs anyway.

hes out for a month? isnt he getting released in a few days? and after that i dont think hes gonna need a month to recover
Thu Mar 22, 2007 8:50 am
Yeah, I read about it this morning. It's sucky, but at least it's not a basketball-related injury where he can make a full recovery. I didn't think it'd take that long, but apparently he can't eat for 3-4 days afterwards, and besides the scar needs to heal otherwise it'll tear open.

Ever had your appendix out? Or had any surgery for that matter? It takes more than 3-4 days to recover to a normal lifestyle, never mind getting physically ready to play sports
A month may be a bit long, but I've heard reports of anywhere from 2-4 weeks. He will be out until atleast the first round of the playoffs in all likelyhood

Takes a week or two just to get the bandage off afterwards. And it's hard to eat, walk or take a dump for a few days afterwards.

So do to Washington's loss to LAC last night we are now the third seed. A great accomplishment to a team that started 2-8. If we had even gone .500 in the first 10, 2nd would defiantly have been ours

I didn't expect them to cream the Nuggets, but they sure did. George Karl said after the game that Toronto is probably the best team in the East, because they're unselfish and are very team-oriented. Which is great. I prefer team-play vs. one guy carrying the team.

fuuuuuuck. that looked almost as bad as livingston's. EDIT: His leg is actually broken. That's very, very nasty.
Also, Raptors just called up Luke Jackson from the D-League. I really, really hope that he can make this work. For his own sake, not the Raptors. They dont need any help.

Oh man, I've been reading some info on it, Colangelo is calling it a broken ankle with soft tissue damage. Apparently, his national team coach (don't have link) said that it'll probably take three months for it to heal. Garbajosa wants to play in the European Championships.
Man, what a blow to the team

. Get better soon, Jorge.
Wed Mar 28, 2007 7:31 am
Toronto better hope they don't have to play Chicago in the first round, they will get pulvarized.
Wed Mar 28, 2007 8:57 am
Can you even come back to NBA level basketball after snapping your ankle like that? Looks like it was just flopping out there held by skin.
These guys gotta learn how to fall, he was almost horizontal in there with forward momentum and he tried to still land on his leg.
Send all rookies to Judo instruction for 1 summer, where they can learn to fall safely from most heights.

He's apparently out for 6 months. I think it's not a career ending injury after all.
If it's a broken bone, then what happens is that the bone becomes stronger than before once it's fully healed.
Wed Mar 28, 2007 10:31 am
Man I feel sorry for Jorge. That looked damn painful. He's lucky he didn't do it to his knee like Shaun Livingston. Hope he has a speedy recovery

Displaced ankle joint with a ligament tear, and a fractured fibula. That's the official word according to ESPN. Like cyanide said, it should take around 6 months to heal.

Get well soon Jorge.

So how long is Garbajosa out for?
Thu Mar 29, 2007 12:29 pm
I read Garbajosa is out for the rest of the season. I'll try to find a link.
Edit: Here you go.
