I "got" the game, and haven't seen the transexual yet, nor have I heard of it yet. But I did read something about Phil Collins being in it. I'm not very far in the game yet, trying to get all the empires and get respect.

I'm hoping Rockstar changes their minds and brings VCS to PS2.

I'm a little surprised they haven't, given the demand and positive reaction to LCS.

I recently started to play San Andreas again, from the beginning, and I still enjoy it very much. The story itself is the best I've played, I just can't pull myself out of it.

The last GTA I played is Vice City. I'm stuck on that "Rescue Lance" mission. The thugs go through the wall and blast the main character and Lance :cussing:

What you do is get the news helicopter and park it so it doesn't disappear. Then, fly over to the junk yard, find a roof, and snipe the guys. Then, fly over to Lance and hope you don't get shot down ;)

I deliberately screwed up the mission where you get to use an M60 in a chopper...I cheated to get a flamethrower, and all I did was set the chopper on fire and cause Lance to bail out and run away :)

Really? "Death Row" is easy compared to some of the missions that follow.

(After each mission, I drive around collecting weapons pick-ups so I never run out of ammo.)
Before I hit the junkyard entrance, I stop several yards away, whip out my Ruger and blow up the barricade. Then I drive thru, hop out, bear left, climb the pile of black rocks, and pop those MFers with my Colt .45 - one hit kills, baby! It's imperative you nail the dude on top of the crane. He might kill Lance once your escape begins. Then I climb down, wipe out any guards and rescue Lance.

Once you exit the junkyard, don't turn at the first left - three carloads of Diaz' men are waiting for you. I always turn right, then make my way to the long stretch of road known as Bayshore Avenue, and turn left. Then it's a quick drive to the hospital. The only way Diaz men will catch you is if you crack up.

Jeff, it's a .357 Python, not a .45 ;)

I tend to rocket launch the barricade if I can't be bothered to go properly. Once you know where the guys are, it's easy anyway, you just pop them with the M4 you get from behind the airport billboards.

And with packages, you have access to good heavy weapons.

You can tell I haven't played it in a while. I should fire VC up, now that I'm playing VCS.

Just beat GTA Vice City Stories. One mission midway through the game (High Wire) was on the level of "If you pass it, consider it a fluke", and it was an helicopter mission. "Light My Pyre" was damn hard as well. Other than that, the game was sub par at most for a GTA game. Draw distance is absolutely horrible, numerous clipping issues, and various glitches that don't exactly detract the gameplay totally, but is still very annoying (especially the garage swallowing cars). The story however, was good, but it had potential. Players knew right from the beginning who was gonna get killed in the end... it was just too blatantly obvious. In GTA San Andreas, they hinted to the betrayers and what not, but it wasn't absolutely totally in-your-face obvious.

Other gripes: Lance Vance really does deserve to get his punk ass killed. After the way his character was portrayed in Vice City Stories, I have half a mind to play the original Vice City just to kill his ass again.

Don't y'all hate it when during missions where there are gunshots in the public, enemies shoot at you in front of cops, and the cops don't do anything. Yet, when you fire a shot, the cops are on you like a pack of lions. Rockstar has really got to fix that up.

Well, it is a port, BZ, so it's not going to be on the level of GTA games made for the PS2. It is what it is.

Killing Lance on GTA VC and killing Catalina on GTA III were fun. Killing Smoke wasn't, because he was amusing.

I mucked around with god mode once, got a helicopter, and bladed Lance :P

Anyway, I haven't played GTA:VCS yet. Don't want to buy it.

I played VCS on my PSP, and LCS as well. I've never experienced so much of those problems in LCS as I did in VCS, and I remember an interview IGN did with a Rockstar exec who worked on VCS, and the Rockstar guy mentioned how "technically" amazing VCS was. Still a good(not great) game nonetheless though, much harder than LCS, since LCS imo was the easiest GTA in the series.

Anyway, I haven't played GTA:VCS yet. Don't want to buy it.

It's only $39.99 in Cananda, and VCS is much much cheaper than LCS was during it's time, but if you've played all of the GTA's from GTA 3 and on, it's an interesting story add-on to experience. (Y)

Picked up VCS on Sunday, I'm still in the early stages at the moment. So far I'd have to say it's pretty good, nothing revolutionary but it's something new and as BZ said it does add to the backstory. It's interesting that they chose to make Vic Vance somewhat of a reluctant protagonist thought it's the kind of twist the plot needed considering it's a prequel and we're already aware of what happens next.

2 days till the trailer for GTA:IV
www.rockstargames.com/IV

Am I the only one who will watch the first trailer over and over and over and try to make predictions?

Nope, I'll be waiting just to see the videos, I rolled the San Andreas trailers all the time :P

Is it going to be another ps3 exclusive? Haven't had time to read the articles, but I'm always keeping on with the videos.

Good, hehe. Always like it when PS loses it's monopoly, the wait on SA was too much.

I have a feeling ps3 won't do that well. Good thing they dropped the 360 prices here before the launch about 30€.

Yeah, Vic is the most tragic GTA character. All he wants is to provide for his sick brother, but he keeps getting in deep sh!t(thanks to that dumbass Lance).

So far my favorites are the Umberto missions, and the Marty mission when you have to rescue the hoes from the Cholos. Those b!tches pack some serious firepower!

BZ is right, I'm going to fire up VC so I can put a cap in Lance's ass again. Last time I played "Keep Your Friends Close" I nailed Lance with a grenade. :)

Another interesting thing about VC, is the cutscene which contains the death scene of Vic Vance. If you remember, at the start there was Lance and another acquaintance doing drugs in a helicopter, and the acquaintance was killed, but Lance survived. Many GTA theorists say that was Vic Vance, while some say was Peter Vance, the sick brother of Vic and Lance's. I've lost my GTA VC a while back, but I'm planning on purchasing the GTA trilogy pack for nostalgic reasons  So Jeffx, if you're playing VC again, tell me what you think, I think personally think that was sadly, Vic Vance's fate.

Btw, pic of "Vic Vance"

Wow, you guys did your homework (Y) I never noticed those details, should fire up another round of VC suppose. I also love how Rockstar pays attention to details like these unlike some major companies.

Have to agree there, I think it's the first time the passengers in a passenger mission have made the task ten times easier. Gotta love the line "We have more than rubbers for protection" too. I have to agree on Vic being the most tragic character in the series, he's probably surrounded by the most deplorable characters in the series as well.

Yeah, I've read this at Wikipedia and other GTA websites, but I disagree. Throughout VC Lance tells Tommy that his late brother treated him "like a kid"(mostly because Lance is a pr!ck). So it had to have been Vic who met his unfortunate end.
