...but not because he's making a comeback.

I think this is an example of the only times we'll hear about him; brushes with the law. He's 42, been out of the league since 2000, and has pretty much worn out his welcome everywhere. I don't think we'll see him in the NBA again, though that may be a blessing. The Worm once mentioned his desire to play his final game (or at least walk off the court for the last time) naked. :?

He might be able to create this scene in jail for his cell mates.
Man this guy could be a millionaire kicking back and having a good time after all those years of training... Instead he's probably drunk most of the time and now broke, and by the time he wakes up it'll all be over. A shame really. There's no chance in hell he'll ever play ball again. :?

I heard on KCAL news (Los Angeles' best or something) that since Rodman moved to Newport Beach, California, the police have been to his house a total of 70 times!

I seriously doubt Rodman is broke, he made millions, has books still in circulation and most likely put aside a few million for investments.

He probably owns many stock options and certified deposits.

I could be wrong, but you really can't drink 20 million dollars.

Even his house is paid for, he might do some coke or something, but still you can't toot up 20 million dollars.

20 million is a low estimate of his total value.

He does shoot a lot of craps and shit like that though, so upon further review, who the fuck knows, maybe he's in the can looking for shorts on cigarettes at nightclubs, but I doubt it.

Yeah, the article about his arrest mentioned that too. Never a dull moment at the Rodman residence.

I read in an article in the "Sunday Magazine" which comes with the Sunday paper in my city, and Rodman says in the interview that he is almost broke. Doesn't mean it's true but yeah that's what I read.

...and Champ I'd like to believe you, and I'd love to see Rodman come back and pull down 10+ boards a game for someone but it's very unlikely, and I say that as a fan. He is an amazing athlete, but the guy is 42, his body is fucked up from the drinking, and the lifestyle. The article I read said that he is out of shape, that the beginnings of a pot belly appear through D-Rod's shirt. And even if had stayed in great shape, he still would have lost some elasticity and bounce and awareness that comes simply from playing the game (which he has not done in 3 years). That's just his ability, then you have to take into account that there are other players out there who are available and probably more capable (though that's an assumption). On top of that he has a reputation... and his ability to draw crowds? Maybe if he came down to Australia and played in our local comp - he could draw a few extra people and dominate the boards :D
I will gladly eat my words if he does come back.

If he comes to Australia, I say he should play for the new Hunter Pirates. We need a reason to go to the games.
