If I make it into UNC, I should be getting a new laptop from them since I'm poor. (well not that poor, but poor enough to get a computer from them)
I'm excited

Speaking of new computers, I'm planning on buying a Mac Pro once Apple moves to the octo-core processors and upgrades its Cinema Displays from 23" to 24". By the time that happens, hopefully CS3 and OS X Leopard will be out. Man, I can't wait.

Me and my Toshiba Portege M500 are doing fine. I've had no problems for the 1.5 months I've had it.
I can play Live 2005 with max settings except for lighting (I cant turn it on) and that bilinear thingy because I dont know wtf that is.

For free? Thats awesome.
And mnem, I spoke with the guy today and this is what he said:
It's an architecture/design and marketing thing done by the CPU
manufacturer.
You should perhaps refer to CPU charts published by the likes of
tomshardware.com and anandtech.com for more information.
CPU clock speed is not necessarily the same as the CPU performance. Hence
AMD have marketed their CPUs with names like 3200+ even though the clock
rate is lower than Intel's Pentium 4, i.e. The Athlon XP performs in the
same ball-park as Intel's P4 which runs at 3.2GHz.
Incidentally, Intel's own new Core chips run at lower clock speeds too,
because they have changed their design... but they still outperform their
own previous CPUs that run at higher clock speeds.
Personally I avoid overclocking because it can overstress the computer
components and even burn them out if you don't have adequate cooling.

well yeah, just like i told you its still at par with pentium 3.2ghz even though its only 2.2ghz.
but he should not advertise it as 3.2ghz right? coz an AMD 3.2ghz is A LOT better than a 3200+ running @ 2.2ghz.

I just got a Macbook to use for Uni. Best investment I ever made. Works like a dream, so intuitive and easy. Looking forward to leopard being realised, see what this baby can really do!

I'm getting a Mac when Leopard comes out too. I'm really looking forward to all the new features included in Leopard like Time Machine and Spaces.
Do you guys know when it's being released? On some site it said it was being released this Spring but I don't think so, do you guys know anything?

They're saying it's being released spring 2007, and Apple is known to be secretive. One source said it won't be out until May for the Leopard, but you never know. They're announcing CS3 on March 27th, but it won't be shipped until April. I'm probably gonna get my Mac Pro probably at the end of May, and by then, they should have that new hardware line.

I just saw this on the news page of the Apple website.
From what I read, I can suppose they're announcing Leopard in the upcoming WWDC in June. If that's so, I suppose they're gonna release it the Fall just like they did for Tiger.
I guess we gotta wait, but it's definitely worth it.

Keep in mind, though, Apple might release something else in WWDC and so Leopard could be out before as they did promise "spring 2007." I'm thinking they'll release the octo-cores at the WWDC. I wish the WWDC wasn't so far away
