Maggette’s body language on the bench Tuesday seemed to reflect his mood, and he let his feelings known in no uncertain terms after the game.
“I’m just worried about me, it’s nothing against Doug,” Maggette said. “I’m so hot. It’s crazy. I don’t get it. I put in work. I deserve to play. It’s mind boggling
.....
Maggette had played fewer than 23 minutes just once in the past 27 games and in that game, a victory Dec. 23 over Houston, he scored 11 points, in 18 minutes off the bench.
“It’s just more of Dunleavy’s (expletive) again,’’ Maggette said. “It’s totally unbelievable that I couldn’t help this team tonight. Tell me something. He isn’t listening to Sterling. If he listened to him, I’d be playing. It’s crazy. I really felt we were (beyond) this. I guess not because here we go, again. I’m a yo-yo man. Give me an excuse. Give me something. Just tell me something. I’m a grown man. I can take it. It’s crazy.”
Clippers veteran guard Sam Cassell not only tried to put responsibility of this loss solely on himself — “I have to make shots for this team to be successful,’’ he said — but Cassell also attempted to explain Maggette’s frustration and Dunleavy’s thought process.
“He (Maggette) just wants to play,” Cassell said. “And I think Mike had all the intentions on playing him. But coaches sometimes get emotional and get caught up. It happens. But I’m sure he’ll find a solution.”

Gentlemen, I think that its safe to bet that Maggette is going to be shipped somewhere soon.

I don't know why Maggette doesn't play. He's clearly the Clips 2nd best player and maybe if he played they wouldn't be struggling for a playoff spot.

Maggette should play. He's too good of a player for the Clips to let go. Obviously Sterling want's him on the team, or he would probably have been traded by now. Don't know what the fuck Dunleavy is thinking. It's not like the people he has in place of him have played well. The team has really just been one huge disappointment. Cassell hasn't played that well, Kaman has been a major disappointment, and the team just doesn't seem to have the intelligence to get Elton Brand the ball more often. I've never seen such a great player get so few shots - it's mindboggling.

yeah i really don't get it. maybe QRoss needs to teach him a thing or two about playing defense so Dunleavy will like him.

Not to defend Dunleavy or anything, but I've heard that Maggette's basketball IQ is close to a sack of potatoes and struggles learning offensive sets.
I'd still try to let him play though. He seems healthy for once and you might as well utilize his talents before his next injury. Not only does he give you around 20 points a night, but he also draws a lot of fouls, which is a pain in the rear for other teams and also opens up room for Mobley and Thomas to shoot the long ball.

Its_asdf, you should talk to Dunleavy.
I honeslty think Maggette should have the offense run through him primarily. It worked pretty well before they had Cassell on the team, and Corey was healthy. He's having his best year with rebounding as far as his playing time is concerned. Controlling the boards is essential in winning ball games.
you might as well utilize his talents before his next injury.
LMAO, so true.

I really feel sorry for Maggette he's getting way to little minutes I hope for a trade they could get something solid out of it and Maggette could finally play some more minutes. It would be a Win Win situation almost certainly

I feel sorry for no one in the NBA.
I'd love to sit on my ass and collect a fat paycheck.

If that's the case then Dunleavy Sr should atleast run some simple sets for Magette, Clips were getting nothing done with Magette on the bench in Detroit, they just got hustled out the gym

maggette's basketball iq maybe low but he sure knows how to utilize cracks and draw fouls.... so it can't be that low....

Corey played 38 minutes against Detroit. Can't ask for much more.
