This is a great move by Miami, now they have the problem with Odom and C. Butler playing the same position...

Pat Riley has said that shifting Odom to PF is an option for them.

Good move by the Heat, as a GM I would say not too smart, I (as a GM, which I'm not) would have Re-Signed Odom...and then traded him to Miami if they wanted him so bad...anyways it probably wouldnt have worked out.

Now to reality...moving Odom to PF, not too good in my eyes...he's not comfortable there...too many swingmen now fer Miami... Maybe a trade could be coming up involving Eddie Jones and a PF/C? Sorry...there goes the GM mentality again...who would want Jones' contract..?

Good move by the Heat (Y).

Good news for the Heat. I think Odom will have a much better season than last now that he is out of Clipperland. I see him playing 4 positions in Miami, and Butler and himself should make for an exciting duo. I too see a trade coming up to clear up the logjam at sf/sg. I think they should try to ship Jones and Grant for a young big man and some help at the point.

I heard that Pat Riley planned to use Odom at the Point Guard position.

Nice addition for the Heat, and a kind gesture by the Clippers, allowing Odom to leave as was his wish. It was only a couple of years ago that the Warriors prevented Marc Jackson from going to the Rockets by matching the offer, even though they had no intention of keeping him.

Good move for Miami...now they have some hope to actually make the playoffs (although I still doubt it)

west in memphis wants eddie. there were a lot of rumors earlier on about a deal involving stromile swift for eddie, but if eddie came to memp either battier or miller will be jobless, plus dickerson's still around and is pretty good....... dickerson-swift for eddie? memphis looks really good on paper either way, now they need to meld.

it is Jason Williams not Jayson. But he will definatly start before brevin knight. j-will is way better than him.

Heat have been my team since the Tim Haraway Alonzo Mourning days and its gald to hear that they got another good player in Odom.

I also heard somewhere that Tim wasnt mad at management in Miami and wont mind coming bac and if that happens......................................Miami Heat........................Eastern conference finals........................ :shock: ..................... :P .............................just a thought but im biased :wink:

gread addition for the Heat. Odom is a very talented player but the injuries and the drugs always were a problem...But anyway, they should move him to PF imo, let Brian Grant play Center, Butler SF, Jones SG and PG Wade. I know Odom can play almost all of these positions (maybe not the 5 spot) but Pat should plant him where they need him at most. The PF spot.

Yeah Wade could be the PG on paper but Odom could really be the one ball-handling.

a really good idea i saw on a dif board "basketballboards.net" was this (EJ traded wherever), Image:

for a team such as the nets:
Grant --> Zo
Walker --> KMart
Butler --> Kittles
Jones --> Kidd
Odom --> Jefferson

for a team like the lakers:
Grant --> Shaq
Odom --> Malone
Butler --> George
Jones --> Kobe
Wade --> Payton

odom brings ball up[/url]
