canada loses to argentina 94-90  stevey nash 24pts 10 assts

usa beats venezuela 98-69, tmac leading scorer again, ai 8 turnovers. we forgive you. td double double *yawn*

tourny individiual and team statistical leaders (scroll down for player leaders):
http://www.usabasketball.com/seniormen/ ... aders.html

interesting notes:

seems like team canada is relying to much on certain indiviudals since they seem to have the top 2 scorers in the tourny. they also have the best rebounder and assister (statistically)

tmac leads team usa with 16.0 ppg at .655 fg% and .6% 3p%. he is dishing 3 assisters per game which is 6th among americans and 17th among all players in the tourny. average 1 block per, tied for 6th in the tourney, and only has 4 turnovers in 3 games.

its in the blood. vince carter is team usa 2nd leading scorer with 14.0 ppg, his fg and 3pt % are very similar to tmac and among tourney leaders as well. other than that, i think only other noticeable stat is around 1.6 steals per.

tim duncan is basically in the top 10/20 of every category, leads tourny in blocks , 7th in the tourny for rebounds per, and 1st among americans. no other american is averaging more than 5 rebounds per game.

elton brand is shooting is 80% from the field. kmart played pretty well for his first game. jermain o'neal should not be starting.

looks like mike bibby is playing his role EXTREMELY well. take that bibby-doubters

theres a reason they call them the virgin islands.........

usa 113, vi 55

http://sports.espn.go.com/extra/olyq/bo ... IRGISLAND0

the individual player stats (http://www.usabasketball.com/seniormen/ ... aders.html ) will probably be updated by tommorow

timmy didnt play, the starters were given the day off and the bench did the job. ray allen had a team high 21 minutes, tmac a team low 13 minutes with 10 points, 3 assists.

interesting note, with the addition of kmart, team usa has 3 new jersey nets. looks like kidd isnt the only star on that team anymore. kmart has been playing very well his first 2 games.

Kidd has had his share of turnovers as well. He had one game I think the first game of the tournament where he had 5 to's. I think a lot of them are trying to be too unselfish and fancy with the passing. Even AI said that but he made up for it against Virgin Islands with 0 to's.

It must be the world championships... because the USA is battling world basketball powerhouses like Venezuela and the Virgin Islands :D

The European championship is coming up soon according to an article in Yahoo which spoke of Dirks injury (rolled ankle) in Germany's most recent warm up game..

Team USA is playing team basketball. No one is averaging 15 shots per game. I must admit jason kidd is one of the main reasons why USA team is playing well.
