I'd seen it, it was mildly entertaining, nothing to write home about. All these vague movies seem to win all the Oscars. Odd.

Watched The Quiet yesterday.
I enjoyed it,kind of thought I had everything figured out about the movie while watching, but then something happens, which changes the whole thing. Some parts were really weird. It still didn't ruin my opinion on the movie though.

Watched The Illusionist the other day. It was very nice and entertaining (Y)

Caught "The Pursuit of Happyness" last night. It's not my usual kind of movie but I really enjoyed it.

Sat Jan 27, 2007 2:20 pm

Pursuit of Happyness was great.

I just saw Blood Diamonds. Its the best movie of the year, imo.

Anyone seen the movie 'The Doors'? It's based on the members of the band (mainly jim morrison), and it's quite cool and interesting.

Saw Borat again the other day on DVD. I liked it much more the 2nd time round than the first, i found it more funny strangely

EDIT: Short Saw 4 Trailer ~ http://www.nbaliveforums.com/ftopic34410-1250.php

that's crazy I was gonna post something about it. I saw The Illusionist & V For Vendetta today.

The Illusionist was an awesome movie. I absolutely loved it. it was so well written, so clever that it reminded me of Inside Man. Plus Ed Norton's grieving scene screams "American History X". I would recommend this to everybody here. It had a good story line plus it was a cute lil love story too

V For Vendetta was definitely taking some pot shots at the way governments are run today. I found that very funny. otherwise, it really makes us tihnk about how we live our lives and how the government affects us all. I thought it was pretty good as well.

hey has anyone seen deja vu? its very trippy!

Sun Jan 28, 2007 4:06 am

Watched Thank You For Smoking last night. Excellent movie! It's not what I expected, but the storyline is fantastic. I'd recommend it.

No, that's really not what you expect from the movie going in. Damn, that guy could talk his way out of anything. If I had half the ability to talk the way that guy talks, I'd have seen a lot less hassle/troubles in my life.

Amazing, he was simply amazing. I was in awe of the man.

Lately I've been watching some shows on DVD. Namely The Wire (wow) and The 4400 (mmkay)...going to go pick up season 03 of the Wire tomorrow.

I also have Hollywoodland and Flags of our Fathers, but when I watch them and if I watch them is something else.

Or if I could talk like his kid when I was his age  An advocate for a poor cause or not, I'd be proud to be his father.

This might be late...but I was wondering what happened at the end of X-2? Like the voice-over on Jean Grey turning into Phoenix?

Watched Crash just today, it was a little confusing at the beginning, but it was cool how everything was linked and stuff (though of course in real life, it would have been pretty ridiculous to have everything that coincidential). Overall, I thought it was very good, liked it more than I first thought I would.

So, I didn't end up watching Hollywoodland or Flags of our Fathers, but I will soon. Perhaps tonight.

I did however end up watching Blood Diamond last night with a female friend and the movie was really good, Leo's way of talking was really off the hook, especially his "ach's", which is a form of showing annoyance in the Dutch language. There were a lot of Dutch subtleties in the movie (language wise), it was cool.

That tall black dude from Gladiator is an amazing actor, he gives me goosebumps whenever I watch him. (In a non gay/racist way.)

Connelly was adequate, she looked nice but I'm sorry, I'll never ever ever be able to get out the "ass to ass" image of her from Requiem For A Dream.

Overall great movie, highly recommended. Oh, make sure you crank up your surround, I'm so glad I watched it in the theatre, my mom would've shot me if I watched it at home with that much surround sound.

This is just wrong. I'm not fit to be in this situation. Someone like Nick goes and does something like this. Bighort quoting the stupid person, that's me.

You're an evil bastard Hort, an evil one. :shake: I'm going to show you Angie's tits now.

Catching up
-To reply to Tendo about Dick Tracy; while the sets and things are amazing, even Pacino cant save this movie. While i liked dick tracy as a kid and this movie gives me crazy nostalgia, its just not very good. But give it a watch if you've never seen it, maybe you'll see something i didnt

-Little Miss Sunshine, while i thought was excellent isnt whats advertised. Its funny at parts, the whole thing is far from a comedy in my opinion. Never laughed harder than the scene at the paegant though. But is it Oscar worthy? i dont think so. I didnt think crash was either

-V for Vendetta- May be a bad idea to get me started on this movie. Its in my top 3 of all time (right with Godfather and Rent). The potshots at todays government are blatant and had me laughing; but i still think this movie is a scary look at what could be the not too distant future. And to add on to the political views, the action scenes in this move are amazing. i'm keeping it short because i have alot of catching up to do but yeah...kick ass movie

Seen Heat again last night with Pacino, De Niro and Val Kilmer. Great film.

Mon Jan 29, 2007 12:22 pm

We know. I doubt anyone was doubting that one.

I was extremely disappointed with Babel.

Sun Feb 04, 2007 12:01 pm

I really really really enjoyed The Prestige, Bale is officially one of my favorites. I liked him in American Psycho, but back then I hardly knew anything about anything. After Machinist, Begins & Prestige...and his new Vietnam movie which looks really cool, I think I'm going to be liking him for long long time.

Just watched You Me and Dupree tonight, better than i expected. Not all out hilarious but a nice little movie. Check it out if you like owen wilson

Sun Feb 04, 2007 6:03 pm
