Hi! I'm new here and this is my first attempt on a dynasty.

ROSTER

Centers:
ImageImageImage
M. Camby | 6-11, 230 lbs - Will be the starting center for the Nuggets. Camby is among the best shot blockers in the league.
Nene | 6-11, 268 lbs - Will get a lot of playing time and will start occasionally. Is returning from an injury that caused him to miss the last season.
J. Sampson | 6-11, 235 lbs - Plays a small role due to the great number of centers/forwards on the team. Is known for his rebounding abilities.

Forwards:
ImageImageImageImageImageImageImage
C. Anthony | 6-8, 230 lbs - Talented young player. One of the most important players on the team.
Y. Diawara | 6-7, 225 lbs - Rookie. Not much of a scorer, will get some playing time.
R. Evans | 6-8, 245 lbs - Great rebounder for his size. Can score in the paint.
D. Johnson | 6-9, 210 lbs - Can score from anywhere on the court. Is hoped to develop his understanding of the game.
L. Kleiza | 6-8, 235 lbs - Young player who has to develop his post game to get more playing time.
K. Martin | 6-9, 240 lbs - One of the fastest and strongest forwards in the league. Has been plagued by injuries in the past years.
E. Najera | 6-8, 220 lbs - Has to prove himself to earn more playing time.

Guards:
ImageImageImageImage
E. Boykins | 5-5, 133 lbs - One of the smallest and quickest players in the league. Can shoot the ball.
J. Hodge | 6-7, 210 lbs - Bad shooting ability for a guard. Will get some playing time.
A. Iverson | 6-0, 165 lbs - One of the best point guards in league. Now combined with Carmelo Anthony they make a lethal combination.
J. R. Smith | 6-6, 220 lbs - Also a new nugget. Known for his amazing dunks but he can shoot the ball as well.

Nuggets to Hold Training Camp in Durango
Marks first non-Denver training camp since 1998-99

Image

DENVER, Oct. 19 -- The Denver Nuggets will hold training camp Oct. 21-27 at Fort Lewis College in Durango, Colo., the team announced today.

“We’re excited about going to Durango,” said Head Coach George Karl. “It’s a beautiful setting and being away from home will give our team an opportunity to bond. Once again, Stan Kroenke has stepped up and shown his commitment to winning by allowing us to do this.”

Durango is the largest community in Southwest Colorado and sits at 6,500 feet above sea level. This marks the first time the team will train outside of Denver since 1998-99, when camp was held in Colorado Springs.

The Nuggets will hold Media Day on Monday, Oct. 30 at the Pepsi Center in Denver.

Brand Carries Clippers Past Nuggets

Image
Elton Brand stepped up when the team needed him the most.

Denver 106, Los Angeles 119
LOS ANGELES, Nov 2 -- Elton Brand exploded for a huge double-double to help Clippers beat Nuggets.

Denver had a strong first half but lost the 3rd and the 4th quarter. They had a chance to come back and win it late in the 4th. Nuggets were down by four with 2:31 left on the clock. Brand missed a jumper but P. Davis got the offensive rebound and an easy layup. A steal at the other end crushed all the hopes Nuggets had.

Allen Iverson led the Nuggets with 32 points, 22 in the first half. He was 12-from-12 at the line. "They had the lead at the half because we couldn't stop Iverson," said Brand. "He kept driving to the basket where he was constantly fouled."

Clippers got their defense sorted out during half time and came back with a clear intention to win the game. Elton Brand posted 34 points and 14 rebounds. He shot 14-17. "We couldn't stop him, even double-teaming him didn't help," said Kenyon Martin.

C. Mobley played a big part in the Clippers' win, starting a third quarter run. He finished with 19 points.

Denver got to the foul line quite a lot. An overall of 40 free throws were attemted but just 28 made by the Nuggets. "We had no luck at the charity stripe," said J. R. Smith who was 6-12 at the line.

"We wanted to start the season with a win over the team that knocked us out of the play-offs last year," said coach Gearge Karl.

The Nuggets will host Minnesota Timberwolves tomorrow.

Now that is kinda strange. I went through your roster, read the comments next to the players, thought "cool, Melo" and "Diawara has a strange nose" and then when it came to the match, I totally thought this was for the Clipps.

Sry for that. But doesnt change anything, very neat and beautiful !

Nuggets Win At Home In A Blowout Against T-Wolves

Image
J. R. Smith showing off

Minnesota 98, Denver 117
DENVER, Nov 3 --
The fast paced game of Denver Nuggets just got faster. J. R., Melo and A.I. proved that they can work as a team. From the first minutes of the game everyone senced a little buzz. No-one knew what it was at first but at the end of the game they all knew that they witnessed something magical. It was the start of a new Denver Nuggets era.

It was A.I. again who led the Nuggets in scoring with 35 points, 21 of them in the first quarter! Denver had a strong first quarter leading 25:36.
Wolves got within 7 points but fell apart on defense and were trailing 70:86 after three quarters. Garnett only had 6 points at that time.
"They were unstoppable. The game pace was too fast for us," said coach Dwane Casey.

The nuggets were 8-21 from down town. "When your ahead by 15 and you get an open three pointer there's no pressure. It's like in practice," said Earl Boykins, who shot 5-6 at long range. He ended with 23 points and 6 assists.
Timberwolves were out-rebounded 48-61.

"I love the impact Iverson has had on the team. He's not just scoring and dishing out assist but he's getting everyone involved, getting everyone 'in the zone'." said coach George Karl. "Melo and J. R. didn't shoot well from the field tonight but the three of them played very well together. Can you imagine what will happen when they all score around 30 points in a single game?!" he later added.

This one looks great, can't wait for more! That pick of J.R. is great. Very good idea.

One thing: Will you do the recent Boykins, Hodge for Steve Blake trade that just happened, to have updated rosters? It is a bad trade for Denver but...

Thanks everyone for the positive feedback.

About the trade..I really hate it. Boykins was doing great lately, he's like the perfect back-up for Iverson. When A.I is on the bench they still would have had the up-tempo game going with Earl. And Hodge was doing wonders in D-League. He just needs some time to develop. I think in a couple of years everyone is going to look back at this trade and think WTF?! Earl and Hodge + CASH for Blake..come on. It would have been OK if they would have gotten someone decent in exchange. What if Iverson gets injured or ill or whatever. Is Steve Blake gonna run the offense? Now he isn't.

I doubt I'm gonna make this trade. It would be more realistic but hey..if I win the Championship and in real life they lose then in your face who ever made that trade happen.

Cato's Buzzer Beater Wins The Game For New York

Image
Cato's tip-in in the last seconds gave NY their first win of the season.

New York 126, Denver 125
DENVER, Nov 8 --
Nuggets came back from a 19 point deficit to lead by one. Steve Francis missed a last second three but Cato was there for the tip-in.

Denver started well, leading by six after the first quarter. Their defense collapsed in the second as they allowed the Knicks to score 34 points. Offensively the Nuggets missed easy shots in the paint. The same thing continued in the third quarter and Denver found themselves behind by 19.

Allen Iverson exploded in the last quarter leading the comeback. Iverson finished with a season high 51 points, he also dished out 11 assists. He was supported by Anthony and J. R. The three of them combined for a massive 102 points.

Nuggets held a one point lead with only seconds left. Francis took a contested three but missed. Everyone thought Nuggets had won but then out of nowhere came Cato and tipped the ball in. "It felt great. We really needed a win and this just perfect," said Cato after the game.

"I'm furious with the officials," said coach George Karl. "They were totally against us."

Jesus, everything comes down to a matter of a second. Yeah I hated tip-ins in Live '06, the opposing team would make at least 8 of them in the game, in this live they make no more than 5... Well good luck next time man, your dynasty looks good...

Nuggets Victorious In Iverson's Return To Philly

Image
Key matchup of the game: A. Miller vs A. Iverson

Denver 121, Philadelphia 105
PHILADELPHIA, Nov 10 --
Denver started the game with a 13-4 run and never looked back, holding the lead until the end of the game.

Nene had his first start this season and didn't disappoint, he scored 16 points and grabbed 8 rebounds in 17 minutes. He also held 76ers' leading scorer C. Webber to only 10 points. "I think starting Nene was a right thing . He's a strong player and combined with Camby's superb blocking ability, they can shut down anyone in the paint," said coach Karl.

A. Miller scored 40 points against his former team but that wasn't enough. A. Iguodala scored only 4 points as he had difficulties getting past Carmelo. Melo on the other hand had his best game so far. He finished with 26 points and a massive 15 rebounds. 76ers were out-rebounded 45-64.

Philadelphia came within 3 points in the last minutes of the second quarter but an 18-0 third quarter run by the Nuggets was too much for them to handle.

Allen Iverson had a season low 21 points in his first ever game againts his former team. "It was a bit weird but I'm happy with the outcome" said A.I.

D. Johnson also had a good game, he scored 12 in 10 minutes.
Nuggets will visit Charlotte on the 12th of November.

T-Wolves Looking To Trade Ricky Davis

Image

The late rumors surrounding forward Ricky Davis have got an answer. Timberwolves GM said that they are looking to trade Davis. The Wolves currently hold the last spot in the Western Conference with a 1-5 record. Davis has had one of the worst seasons in his career averaging 11.2 PPG 5.2 RPG and 1 APG. The Wolves are looking to overcome the bad start as they signed free agent L. Woods who posted 2 points, 4 rebounds and 1 block in a 118:84 loss against Orlando. It's also rumored that the Wolves are looking for a PF. That rumor is not yet confirmed.

Melo Scores 35 As Nuggets Win In Charlotte

Image
Carmelo had a season high 35 points in a win over the Bobcats

Denver 130, Charlotte 112
CHARLOTTE, Nov 12 --
The game started with both teams trading baskets and neither getting more that a two point lead. The Bobcats managed to win the first quarter 28:30. Emeka Okafor had 10 of his 18 points in that period. The Nuggets regained the lead in the second quarter mainly due to Anthony's efforts.

The third quarter was deciding, the Nuggets made an 11-0 scoring run and led by as many as 15. The Bobcats were unable to catch up even with Iverson on the bench with 4 fouls. Okafor couldn't do anything against Camby and Nene so Adam Morrison stepped up. But no one-man show could stop the Nuggets. "It was a team effort," said coach Karl. "Our bench combined for 43 points." And if that wasn't enough, three players from the Nuggets had a double-double: M. Camby (10 pts, 13 reb), Nene (14 pts, 10 reb) and Iverson (17 pts, 11 ast).

The Nuggets are now 6th in the Western Conference with a record of 3-2, they're second in Northwest division behind the Jazz (5-2). Nuggets will visit Miami Heat (1-5) on the 14th of November.
