Thats just sad. I'd like to know some more about this as time develops but it sucks when another life goes to waste.

RIP, this guy was very good too. He was extremely fast and a potential shutdown corner in the NFL. Sad that he was only 24.

I was flippin through the news and thought I saw something about NFL and Guns and someone getting shot, but when I switched back, it was already over. Shame really.

damn, this sucks. I'm a big Broncos fan and it hurts to see someone young like that die.
Tue Jan 02, 2007 6:37 am
But we all need guns to protect ourselves!!
It's beyond me why people think drive-bys make them look cool or tough. Only a true coward would settle their problems in a drive by shooting.
RIP Darrent Williams, sucks to see anything like this happen, but especially to a professional athlete who had to work so hard to get to where they were.

I read on another site he may have bumped into some gangbangers at the club and was urged to leave. Don't know if that's true or not.

Why can't we go four days without a famous person dying? RIP Darrent.
Tue Jan 02, 2007 8:42 am
No no they're allowed to have guns, it's their right as Americans. They were just protecting their property!
Tue Jan 02, 2007 10:31 am
oh man, why couldnt it be LT

You baffle and frustate me.
Anyways, back to what is really important. Darrent Williams.
I heard Javon Walker held Williams as he died in his arms. Now that is a sad sight to picture. I hope whoever is responsible is behind bars in the next few days and justice is served. There is no reason to take the life of a 24 year old man. He was a promising football player but more importantly he was a great guy. I've heard a lot of good things about this kid over the past few months and it's a shame his life had to be taken away from him. What an awful New Year's Eve for his family and friends.
RIP Williams

This is sick, I hope the people who killed him are found and put in prison.
Darrent was actually one of my favorite corners to watch in the NFL. He seemed like a good guy too.

R.I.P Darrent Williams
I found this pic pretty sad:
It's beyond me why people think drive-bys make them look cool or tough
People don't do it to make them look "tough" or "cool". The guys that killed him would be hardened gangbangers, they are gang members, deaths are normal for them and they have grown up thinking the right way to settle something is to kill them. They were not trying to look tough or cool, thats how they are, drive-by shootings is just another way of killing someone, and thats the ultimate reason they did it. They were out there to kill him, not to look cool.
EDIT: Heres a link to pics of the crime scene, JeffX's one didn't work for me:

Explain how the heck that is a compliment.

They're out to maintain a reputation. That entails a sense of toughness.

okay, he is playing so well that I (a supporter of a diff team) am jealous. Thus jokingly (?) want him dead.

Nonetheless, this isn't the time for a comment such as that.
R.I.P. Darrent Williams. This is so sad.
