This will be my second attempt this year. With all the patches and fixes I think the game is as good as it will get. I will be playing most of the games, intervening in the 3rd or 4th. I will try to make it last and make it as interesting as possible.

Training camp results
New coach Daisuke Kudou had a great impact on the players during training camp

DENVER, Oct 28 -- This years training camp for the Denver Nuggets is over. Coach Daisuke Kudou focused mainly on offense and defense. Head coach George Karl: "Our new assistant coach is rated one of the best in the league in terms of offense and defense. I am very pleased with his work during the training camp. I belive we have a very strong starting lineup with the addition of J.R. Smith, but without a solid bench we will not accomplice anything. So I'm happy to see our secondary players improve. I'm especially pleased with Julius Hodge and Yokhouba Diawara. They are both young players and I think we will see them competing between themselves to get more playing time."

DENVER, Oct 28 -- The Denver Nuggets will play two games during the four days left in October. The season will kick off today at 1:00 PM when the Nuggets will host the Houston Rockets. Both teams hope to start the season with a win. George Karl: "It is going to be a close game. They have a strong team, but after the training camp I belive we can win them if all goes as planned. And let's not forget that we have the home-court advantage."
The second game will be played on the 30th October against the New Orleans Hornets in the Pepsi Center.

Denver comes up short in the final seconds

Houston 102, Denver 100

DENVER, Oct. 28 -- The Nuggets lost the season opener as Carmelo Anthony missed the contested jumper with 1.6 seconds left in the game. "I had a chance to tie the game, but I missed," he said. "Sometimes you hit them, sometimes you don't"
The Nuggets had the lead and the momentum going into the last minute but were unfortunate to seal the victory. "I'm not mad on Carmelo, the whole offense was set up badly. If he would have had an open shot the game might had gone to overtime." said coach George Karl.
Rockets coach Jeff Van Gundy was delighted over the win. "It's a nice way to start the season. It was a very close game and win like this is very sweet."
Juwan Howard was injured after colliding with Marcus Camby. He had to leave with 4:58 left in the game. He didn't return but the doctors said that it was only a minor injury.

Jordan Player Of the Game: T. McGrady: 21 PTS, 9 REB, 3 AST, 3 STL, 9/20 FG (.450)

Nice win and stuff, but what's wrong with your boxscores? They look kinda blur...

J.R. Smith hits the buzzer beater, Nuggets still lose

New Orleans 117, Denver 113 (OT)

DENVER, Oct. 30 -- The Nuggets had a 72:74 lead after three quarters. J.R. Smith started the last quarter with a two handed windmill, followed by Andre Millers block on Chris Paul just seconds later. The Nuggets played good defense witch led them to a 79:87 lead with 5:38 to go.

Chris Paul got his fifth foul and was taken out of the game by coach Byron Scott. Bobby Jackson came in and got the Hornets offense clicking. Only one and a half minutes later it was 85:87 and they were back in the game.

" Bobby made some good assists and got our offense moving." said Rasual Butler who had six points in two minutes.

Free throws from Jackson and West gave Hornets a 91:90 lead with 2:17 on the clock.

Just a minute later West missed his last free throw but Tyson Chandler was there for the put-back, giving Hornets a 97:94 lead. Chandler had 22 rebounds in the game.

Both teams failed to execute on offense after that and with 3.5 seconds left the Nuggets called a time-out. The ball was inbounded to J.R. Smith who took a contested 3 pointer and hit it with 0.2 seconds left on the clock and took the game to over time.

" I couldn't belive that he made the shot. We knew that he is going to take it so I went to help Butler but he still made the shot." said Stojakovic.

"It was depressing. I thought we're gonna win it." said Chris Paul.

With two minutes to go in over time, Stojakovic made two threes, followed by a three pointer by Jackson. Hornets had a seven point lead. Shortly after that Carmelo got fouled out and the Nuggets never threatened to take the lead.

J.R. Smith hit another three with time winding down but the Nuggets still lost by four.

Jordan Player Of the Game: T. Chandler: 14 PTS, 22 REB, 2 AST, 1 STL, 6/13 FG (.461)
