Apparently, there was a basket that TJ Ford made during the Atlanta game from Friday that didn't even get counted.
Here's the thread on RealGM:
LINK
Here's a YouTube video of it:
Video (haven't seen it myself yet)
I've read that if this basket was counted, this would have brought the Raptors within 2 or tied (can't remember which one it was). Could have been the thing that changed the game I suppose, but whatever. Yes, I know if you add two more points to what was the final score (think it was 97-93), they still would have lost, but keep in mind, the tactics you use between a 2, or 3 or 4 deficent are all different. Meh, its a thing of the past, move on, hope it come back to haunt the team.

It's OFFICIAL . . Start Calderon, Leave TJ Ford on the bench, he's too crazy with the ball. . .
Anyone else see Sam Yell at TJ. . "EH TJ, GIVE JOSE THE BALL, GIVE HIM THE BALL" LOL

I wonder if the NBA will actually make the error public regarding the score miscount.

It really doesn't matter now cause Raps lost more than a basket. . .but it shows the politics of the game!!

If you had bother reading what I wrote, then you would realize the fact that adding the points missing doesn't give the Raptors a tie or a win, but the psychologic factor at the time of the basket. Theres a difference between attempting to come back from a 2 point deficent, or a 3 point deficent, or a 4 point deficent.
I realize it's done with, but just saying, this shouldn't be happening.

The Raptors won the last two games, and a big part of it had to do with the performance of Andrea and Joey. They're both scoring points and contributing on defense in limited minutes. Bargnani was huge last night with 16 points (2-3 three ptr), 4 rebounds (2 off.), 1 steal and 2 blocks in only 23 minutes. This guy's getting better every game, especially with his improved defense.

Are we 4-9 now? Not that bad...
I hope Bargs will play well today.
Thu Nov 30, 2006 8:13 am
Bargnani is definitely responding to his extended playing time of late. He's definitely showing us all why he was picked 1st overall in the 06 draft. Can't wait for the Bargs-Nowitzki matchup tonight.
hipn - we're 5-9 now, and we're tied with Chicago, New Jersey, Washington, Milwaukee and Philly for 8th in the Eastern Conference. A New Jersey and Toronto win tonight would make us tied for 1st place in the Atlantic Division. Playoffs are definitely possible for Toronto
Thu Nov 30, 2006 10:21 am
bargnani is gonna be a superstar..
i want nets to beat celtics and then raptors get a win tonight so that raptors and nets are tied for first in atlantic.
woo
i'm still not happy with mitchell despite the last 2 wins because well hornets were without 2 star players and pacers are just playing bad. not trying to be negative, joey graham and bargnani are really playing well and if they continue to play like this and fire sam mitchell then raps will be a team to watch out for in the east. damn i'm sure so many pple doubted colangelo for drafting bargnani with #1 pick but now i think he really is a mastermind
Thu Nov 30, 2006 2:48 pm
Andrea needs to cut down on the travelling. . he's getting away with a lot of walks right now
Why would you Fire Sam Mitchell? Acting like that's the solution to the problem, Colangelo should have put some defenders on that squad
I'm tired of all these people dick riding Colangelo. He has more hype than LeBron. He pretty much gave opportunities for a lot of European players to play in the NBA, which I'm not hating at all on, But most of the players he brought in aren't even playing good!!
Right now Toronto has shown little improvement over last year

I've read the entire game thread on RealGM, and there was no mention of him travelling. He got two 3 seconds in the key called, but that's not travelling.

You really don't follow the Raptors, do you? He makes terrible substitution patterns, doesn't know when to call a timeout, the offense is too much of freelancing without structure, and defense, of course, sucks. Hell, he had to be told by Colangelo to give Bargnani more playing time. Bam, Andrea starts doing well.

Who are these people exactly? I like him because the team he's trying to put together makes sense, but it's the chemistry that needs to be developed. However, I don't see too much BC worshipping going on here.

It's funny how alot of people on here were unimpressed with Bargnani, even going as far to call him the worst 1st pick ever, when he was playing less than 10 minutes per. Now he starts doing well and people are back on his side. It seems the only person who stuck with Bargnani and ran with him was cyanide.
Thu Nov 30, 2006 3:10 pm
I do watch Raptors games, And Andrea does get away with Walks, He got away with like 3 against the Pacers lol, put it on the news, the 1st thing you hear "How many steps can you take in the NBA" And shows Andrea travelling all over the court. He's a good player, but once refs start calling that. . he better switch it up!!
I agree somewhat with what you said about Mitchell. . .The offense is what Colangelo wants though. . Calderon is outplaying TJ Ford, cause for some reason TJ thinks he's a Superstar, cause he's running the Raptors starting unit, give me a break!! TJ was the reason why Pacers got back in that game
Trust me, look around and you'll see what I'm talking about. . .A lot of people think BC is our saviour, he better be something close to that, cause fans can't take the losing anymore.

I never bashed Andrea, I just think he needs to learn to stop travelling. . Refs just don't see it, I guess that's why they call him the Magician LOL

I wasn't talking about you, just NBA fans in general. The stupid ones anyway.

Never seen him get away with any travelling but who cares ? As the long as the refs dont see it, he's good to do w.e the fuck he wants.
Alot of people travel but hey, I guess refs dont see it.
Thu Nov 30, 2006 3:27 pm
Sam, watch the game close, and watch Andrea's feet when he has the ball!! You'll see what i'm talking about
Fri Dec 01, 2006 1:38 am
Andrea has been getting the minutes to prove himself after Colangelo publically went out and told ESPN radio that he wanted Bargnani to get more minutes... I guess someone is looking to keep their job.
To be honest, I'm impressed with Bargs. I knew he would play much better with increased minutes, but he's like the sixth man off the bench now. Very impressive watching him go at other teams with Joey Graham and Calderon in the second unit.
Fri Dec 01, 2006 7:37 am
Bargs and Joey are playing very well, and Calderon is starting to become a leader on the court. I would still like to see Ford start, but Calderon definitely deserves more minutes. I liked seen Calderon and Ford playing together. Raps need to bench Fred Jones. The guy is not a starter material. He's a off bench spark. With the way Graham is playing, i don't think we'll see Mo Pete back next year, or he'll get traded this year. I liked him, but i just don't see him coming back....well at least one of the SG must go.
Fri Dec 01, 2006 8:22 am
With the emergence of some of the bench players, we have a lot of depth. A little too much that Mo will definitely be traded. I'd trade him for a pick, to be honest, because like I said, we have a lot of depth that bringing in another player of his caliber would be redundant.
Fri Dec 01, 2006 9:24 am
I don't understand why they would trade Mo-Pete, he's their best perimeter shooter, Joey Graham is too up and down, They beeter keep Mo. If they let him go for a pick, they better draft another Big Man, we need some post defenders. . . Lakers are interested in Mo Pete, I mean Jackson
Fri Dec 01, 2006 9:58 am
Mo-Pete is our best perimeter shooter, but it's really crowded in the guard positions. Anthony Parker has been a great role player, and Joey has been stepping it up and showing promise. Fred Jones has been crap lately, and I'd rather trade Jones than Mo-Pete, but Mo-Pete has more value than Jones, so we could get something good out of him.
I don't think the Raps need another big man. I think we need a good SG/SF that can put it to the hole rather than jack up threes. All of the guards they have now just settles for jumpers even though they paid Jones to take it to the hole.
Fri Dec 01, 2006 10:03 am
I agree that Peterson is the best perimiter guy you've got... but I also agree with cyanide that he MUST be traded. Fred Jones would be a better option to trade from your side, but (again, as cy said)- Peterson has more value. His contract might be a problem though...
To Atlanta for Josh Childress would work, salary-wise.
Sat Dec 02, 2006 4:54 am
How can you say we don't need another BIG MAN, when our rebounding sucks. Like I said before, Trading Mo-Pete would be stupid!! If you look at it, Mo Pete is our only consistent 3-point shooter
Sat Dec 02, 2006 5:22 am
I know our rebounding sucks, but the Raptors are already full at the big man position with Bosh, Rasho, and Bargnani. Bosh is a very good rebounder, Rasho can pull them down when he plays, and Bargnani is the future. If they get another big man, they're going to take away the minutes of the young players development, and that's not a good thing.
I don't want to live and die by the three either. I would rather keep Mo-Pete, but like I said before, the Raptors are doing well without him. I'd rather trade Fred Jones, but like I said, his value is too low.
