XBOX360 uses ambient occlusion and hdr exposure which gives it that look. You can't even fake it with PC Live 07 no matter what you do, so advertising it as such is, well, cheap. Psychologically some may really believe that this lighting that takes out shadowing looks better, but it's just different waved under the flag of XBOX360.
no shading does NOT mean XBOX 360.
Let me explain it to you another way..
No shading (aka simulated very high ambient settings) result in light being uniform across the shaded 3D model.
NBA Live PC however uses light shading which shades the model depending on polygons normals and gives it lighting information (which is averaged across the vertexes).
Ambient Occlusion or it's simulation is what XBOX360 gives. This is the same thing, with the exception of lightmapped information stored on models which allows for ambient occlusion (average between polygons angles used for light calculation).
What this patch -here- does is that it actually moves further towards the first step from the second one, and not towards the third step. You take out all shading and end up with plain non-shaded or nearly non-shaded models which really looks like, as I said, Live 2000 with more detailed models.
Anyways, yeah, I guess whatever rocks your boat
