Ohh, Sows spine is injured or something right?
Well man, as long as my All-Euro team is out on the floor, it's all good.

Anyone see the Raps game tonight?! It was amazing! Bosh with the three at the end and Iguodala missing the last shot
Thu Nov 09, 2006 12:52 pm
Yah, that was one hell of a shot by Bosh. Graham had a nice outing too with 16 points off the bench. Gotta love Anthony Parker. His defence is awesome. Man my heart stopped when Calderon was at the line, for his two free throws at the end of the game. I had crazy flash-backs to January when we were playing Vince Carter, who of course, got the game winner. Calderon ended up missing the second one, and thank god Andre Iguodala got the ball, not Allen Iverson. If Iverson shot that, the Sixers would have probably won that game.

CHRIS BOSH!!!111!!!
Even Sam Mitchell was laughing when Bosh made that shot.
Thu Nov 09, 2006 2:17 pm
Bosh wasn't kidding when he said he was working on his three pointer over the summer.
Thu Nov 09, 2006 2:25 pm
I was at this game, and wow, when Bosh hit that 3... IT WAS NUTS!!!!!!!!! Free pizza and a win!!!
Thu Nov 09, 2006 3:01 pm
OH MY BOSH !
Give it up for Joey Graham too !!!
Haha.
Good shit today.

Mitchell Chews Out Bargnani
10th November, 2006 - 10:31 am
Toronto Star - Sam Mitchell stopped Andrea Bargnani outside of the weight room on Thursday to give him a mouthful for what the coach perceives of a lack of attention to basketball.
"Without you becoming a better basketball player, all those other things won't be there," Mitchell was heard telling Bargnani.
Bargnani has been spending a great deal of time giving interviews and participating in photo shoots, instead of putting in the extra time to improve as a basketball player, like fellow rookie P.J. Tucker.
Sat Nov 11, 2006 9:20 am
Oh, don't present half the info.
"At the end of the day, if you don't put up the extra time, you're not going to be as good as you want to be," Mitchell said, praising Bargnani and fellow rookie P.J. Tucker for their extracurricular work habits. "Our young guys are great, but sometimes they get caught up in the distractions of 'I got to go here, I got to do this, I got to do that.' And you have to remind them what [they're] here for."
He's not really chewing out Bargnani, but merely reminding him that he shouldn't get caught up with all the media frenzy, and that Bargs should just say 'no' sometimes.

yep! That was the same with Yao Ming. These young guys don't know how to say no. So all the extra work wares them out a lot.

So, Mo Pete has been benched for Fred Jones. I told all you Raptor fans this would happen. How do you feel about it?
Wed Nov 15, 2006 6:33 am
mo pete was garbage to begin with. good hustle player but very, very inconsistent. you can never rely on him, one game he'll shoot the lights out and next game he'll be shooting bricks. i could really care less if he gets traded.

I would LOVE to have Mo Pete on the Pacers. The only problem is that we already have a logjam at shooting guard. I don't want to take minutes away from Marquis.
I actually wouldn't mind trading Harrison and Sarunas for him, and playing Marquis at the backup point.

Last season Mo Pete played pretty consistent basketball, he took a very huge step in his game by adding that pull-up jumper from mid-range and he really became an offensive threat for us.
I don't really see how benching Peterson will help the Raptors. Fred Jones has been playing just as badly as he has and is fairly turnover prone. Peterson was also the only respectable three point shooter on the starting 5 so people are just going to collapse on Bosh and Ford when they get to the paint. He was also probably one of Toronto's better defenders (although that isn't saying very much) next to Anthony Parker.
Morris Peterson is probably one of the all-time Raptor favourites due to his durability and his consistent effort to play for a team that not many players would like to play in.
I wouldn't mind seeing Peterson being traded at all if it's benefitting the Raptors, but he's been so loyal to the franchise throughout its up and downs it's hard to simply ship him away to another team.

Has PJ gotten any playing time? He and Pape are my favorite Raptors

I don't know if you've noticed yet, but Fred Jones is actually a pretty good perimiter defender. He uses his athleticism to his advantage and is able to contest a lot of shots that a lot of bigger guys couldn't get to.
With Fred Jones starting you're going to get a rollar coaster. He definitley buys in to Sam Mitchell's 100 shots philosophy, because he likes to shoot a lot and early in the shotclock. One game Freddie will give you 20 and he'll shot 65% from the field, and the next game nothing will go in, but he'll shoot just as much, so be prepared.

I don't think Mo Pete will be traded anytime soon, he's too popular with the fans. I can definately see him coming off the bench yet again, but with the 10-man rotation Mitchell's been using I don't think it really matters who starts. As long as everyone is contributing a little bit, I'm happy.

Don't worry, we're more than used to that. *cough*Mike James*cough*

Don't worry, he's a little bit smarter then that.
Wed Nov 15, 2006 12:58 pm
What troubles me is that he's playing against a guy like Jason Richardson, who is probably just as athletic as he is so even though Fred is an athletic monster, I don't think that he'll be able to put it to good use if the other guy can jump right out of the gym as well and also has a few inches on him.
Wed Nov 15, 2006 2:57 pm
Nah, Jason Richardson's playing with an injury, but really, I'd be worried to have a small backcourt with Fred and TJ.
The only player more inconsistent than Mo Pete is Sam Mitchell.
I want to see Bargnani play more than just 9-10 minutes a game.
At the half against GS, Bosh has 13 points and 13 rebounds
And Bargnani scored 5 and has 4 rebounds in limited action
Sorry, random thoughts. Carry on.
Wed Nov 15, 2006 4:03 pm
He finished with 24 i think rebounds

For once in my life, I agree with you (though I'm sure everybody on RealGM agrees). Mitchell's substitution patterns are baffling and his system is too much of freelancing. I want to see some indication of structure.
Thu Nov 16, 2006 7:47 am
I'm sure BC is not at all content our current record. I mean, sure it's only been seven games, but the reason we die in the fourth quarter is because 1) Our defense is questionable and 2) We don't have a structured offense we can run when the other teams turns it up a notch defensively. Mitchell's substitution patterns don't allow our bench players to find a groove in the offense. I really think that Mitchell should shorten the rotation, and give Bargnani a lot more playing time. He's definitely got the talent, and sitting on the bench is no way of learning how to stay on the court when you've got foul trouble.
On the topic of firing Mitchell, I think that it's time to have a coaching change. Rick Adelman would be great for our organization.
